A different direction from the election

Never broken ©

I listen to the latest swift and I wonder why
The words aren’t mine and they make me laugh and cry
I used to write songs with similar type lines
And yet our world is gender divided by multiple strange times

It’s odd it’s crazy it’s a universal joke
But at least I know now that I can’t be broke
Oh yeah I can be harmed and cut to the bone
But never broken and never alone

It’s been years since someone made me write a rhyming line
I thought I had moved past the silly and sublime
But then I listen to swift and it makes me recall
That what I used to do wasn’t silly at all

It’s just a hidden part that came out naturally
And then tucked itself just as fast back inside of me
It never went away because it wasn’t really there
It just didn’t want to play out in the clean fresh air

Stuck behind a script an article a piece of art or a blog
The rhyming timing events were just sleeping like a log
Hoyt used to summon the lines by just being himself
And now from nowhere swift shares the wealth

It’s odd it’s crazy it’s a universal joke
But at least I know now that I can’t be broke
Oh yeah I can be harmed and cut to the bone
But never broken and never alone

Electorial Collge and SAPER RATTLING

http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2012/ecalculator#?battleground

Click on the above link and you can get an idea of where the country stands with ten days left in the 2012 Presidential election.

I'M MUCH MORE CONCERNED WITH WHAT THE COUNTRY BELIEVES TO BE FACTUAL INFORMATION
AS
OPPOSED
TO
FLAT OUT
SABER RATTLING AND REPUBLICAN
BULLSHIT

Our defense budget is $901 BILLION annually.

PEOPLE THAT HEAR ROMNEY CLAIM OBAMA IS CUTTING A TRILLION DOLLARS FROM THE DEFENSE BUDGET THINK THE ANNUAL BUDGET IS TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS.

OUR ENTIRE FEDERAL BUDGET IS SLIGHTLY OVER $3 TRILLION......

A CUT OF A TRILLION DOLLARS WILL TAKE PLACE OVER A TEN YEAR PERIOD
UNLESS
THERE
IS
A
NATIONAL EMERGENCY
AND
THEN
IT WILL
GO UP
AGAIN

ROMNEY IS TELLING PEOPLE THAT OUR SAFETY IS AT RISK BECAUSE OF THE CUTS

OBAMA'S DEFENSE SPENDING SINCE HE TOOK OFFICE IS THE HIGHEST IN THE HISTORY OF OUR COUNTRY

http://www.zerohedge.com/sites/default/files/images/user5/imageroot/draghi/defense%20budget.jpg

http://www.usgovernmentspending.com/defense_chart_30.html

ROMNEY IS TELLING PEOPLE THAT OUR NAVY IS WEAK AND THAT IT WAS BIGGER IN 1916

SERIOUSLY!

AND PEOPLE BELIEVE THAT BULLSHIT AND I THINK MOST OF THE PEOPLE THAT BELIEVE IT THINK THE WIZARD OF OZ WAS BASED ON A TRUE STORY.

In 1916 the Department of the Navy had O aircraft and 0 navy seals and 0 aircraft carries and o submarines and o nuclear bombs and 0 satellites and EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT AND YET THEY THINK OUR NAVY IS SMALLER THAN IT WAS IN 1916 BECAUSE MITT ROMNEY SAID IT WAS AND HE'S RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT AND HE WOULDN'T BULLSHIT US.

GUESS WHAT?

HE'S USING A TACTIC THAT APPEALS TO PEOPLE WHO AREN'T PAYING ATTENTION EXCEPT FOR TWO WEEKS BEFORE AN ELECTION.

HE IS USING OLD FASHION
BULLSHIT!

The truth of the matter is that we are so vastly superior to everyone else that we actually sell our weapons to other countries. at international trade shows. We don't need millions of foot soldiers anymore because we have drones and fighter jets and stealth bombers and anyone that is worried that we can't put the same amount of soldiers on the ground that China or Russia could, needs to wake up and realize that ground soldiers don't matter anymore.....unless there are 15 of them and they are called Navy Seals.

OUR NAVY IS LARGER THAN THE NEXT 13 NAVIES COMBINED.....AND 11 OF THOSE NAVIES ARE FRIENDS OF OURS.

TO SABER RATTLE IN THE YEAR 2012 LIKE ROMNEY IS DOING TRULY MAKES ME WORRIED ABOUT THE AMERICAN PUBLIC'S LACK OF KNOWLEDGE.

THE ONLY REASON HE IS DOING THE SABER RATTLING IS BECAUSE HE KNOWS PEOPLE HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT THE NUMBERS INVOLVED

AND
I'M
SCARED
TO
DEATH

BECAUSE HE MIGHT BE RIGHT ABOUT THE AMERICAN VOTER'S LACK OF KNOWLEDGE.......AND A HIGH PERCENTAGE OF VOTERS IN THIS ELECTION WILL VOTE FOR MITT ROMNEY BECAUSE
THEY DON'T WANT A WEAK
DEFENSE SYSTEM

WE DON'T HAVE A WEAK DEFENSE SYSTEM
AND
WE
NEVER
WILL

Electing someone who uses this out dated cold war tool of persuasion is ludicrous!

AND HONESTLY.....MITT ROMNEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED!

I, on the other hand, am ashamed that a large portion of the American public is actually being swayed by well groomed Mormon snake oil salesman.

I thought collectively that the people of the United States were much better informed.
60 years of television didn't really seem to help educate the masses.

I suddenly feel like it's 1972.....but looking at the Electoral College Map I have to believe that Ohio, Wisconsin and Florida have enough educated people to tilt this election in a direction that allows for our obvious economic recovery to continue after the great recession of 2008.

I HAVE TO BELIEVE.......

It seems like yesterday

In 1972 the mood of the country had a slight edge....or better yet....edgy.....feeling.  It seemed that the entire youth of America was generally pissed off.  YOUTH BEING ANYONE UNDER 30. The President of the United States appeared to be the most unpopular person in America. The candidate running against him had a reputation as a peace-loving liberal who generally cared about his fellow human beings.

The Democratic candidate was George McGovern and I and millions of other young people were positive that the country knew what a RealDick was, and that George was the type of person to change the direction of our war hungry nation.

POSITIVE!

We had just finished the decade of assassinations, moon landings and student upheaval and everything just screamed at the new direction our country would take. A time of peace and a time of love....and most important a time of no more war.

POSITIVE!

WOW......THE MARGIN OF DEFEAT WAS DEVASTATING AND SENT THOSE OF US WHO WERE POSITIVE INTO A
SLUMP
THAT IN MY OPINION HAS LASTED TO THIS VERY DAY.

IT BLEW OUR MINDS

The margin of defeat simply stunned an entire generation into shock.

HOW COULD THE VAST MAJORITY OF AMERICANS NOT SEE WHAT RICHARD NIXON WAS.....
A PARANOID SNAKE EYED CRAZY DUDE

AND HOW COULD THEY NOT SEE THAT GEORGE MC GOVERN WAS A HONEST INTELLIGENT HUMAN BEING WHO WANTED ORDER RESTORED THROUGH COMPASSION AND LOVE.

WE WERE POSITIVE THAT GEORGE WOULD KICK DICK'S ASS AND AMERICA WOULD BE BACK ON TRACK.

POSITIVE!

I'm fairly certain that George was aware of polls and numbers and realities that gave him no chance in hell of winning but I don't remember anything that indicated what the margin of defeat would be.

I THOUGHT EVERYBODY HATED RICHARD NIXON

I THOUGHT EVERYBODY LOVED GEORGE MC GOVERN

OBVIOUSLY I AND A WHOLE BUNCH OF OTHER PEOPLE FROM MY GENERATION WERE SIMPLY
WAY
TOO
HIGH

There's no other explanation.

George McGovern passed away yesterday.

I've used the following expression 500 times in my life and will continue to use it every time I make a sports or political prediction

...."but keep in mind that I thought McGovern would kick Nixon's ass in 72, so obviously I have no idea what's going on."

George McGovern lived a full and involved life and I'm sure he changed levels with no regrets..

He shall always hold a special place in my life....but then again always and positive are words that might originate from the same source.

That source might be the Land of Fantasy!

I know that land quite well

RIP George!

Polls are not jokes but they also aren't exact science

Study these for a few minutes and then ask yourself why does it matter
when undecided voters seem to be the crucial participants....AND THEY DON'T
EXACTLY POLL WELL BECAUSE THEY CAN'T MAKE UP THEIR FREAKIN MINDS.

Please note..... there is always a 3-5% error in polling.  The pollsters don't call it an error but an error is an error and we are the final scorekeepers.

I took a poll the other day at the golf course and it turns out that most golfers are Republican which would explain the enormous balls that must be involved for that party to blame Obama for ALL our financial woes.  A recession was in affect when he took office and it was so large THEY called it the Great Recession.

I still haven't heard anybody give a specific time table for how long a recovery takes from a Great Recession.

3 1/2 years seems short.

The Republicans don't want the recovery to take place NOW

And all of their actions make that statement very very clear.

Of course they want the White House because the recovery IS taking place and the next two years will see a huge surge in unemployment reduction AND debt reduction.

CYCLES OCCUR
IN ALL ASPECTS
OF LIFE

EVEN  ECONOMICS.....and maybe
ESPECIALLY in
ECONOMICS

BUT LET'S TAKE A POLL AND FIND OUT FOR SURE

What's your guess on how long a recovery takes from a Great Recession?

AND WHY DOESN'T ANYONE ASK THAT QUESTION DURING A DEBATE?

Let's take a poll and find out why?

And the nonsense continues for 17 more days

Sun is setting on intolerance but its still a little tilted

I listen to lots of different people when it comes to election issues and I think I see beyond the numbers and the statistics.  I think I see the core and the morality of arguments better than many of the people I hear speak. I do not listen to talk radio or TV commentators.

It doesn't really do any good to hear what the candidates have to say because they have to be so guarded in their opinions that everything gets watered down with doublespeak and spinverbiage.
LISTENING TO THE DEBATES MAKES ME CRAZY...but I do it. They never actaully answer
the questions.

I judge action and am cautious of verbalpoliticalbullshit.

I read more than I hear.

I most definitely am not smarter than anyone else......I just see a little deeper.

What I truly notice, that nobody seems to be bringing up, is that INTOLERANCE is moving toward its final resting place.  It might take another 100 years but it really is going to be a thing that people remember....not experience.  Especially in countries that have chosen to emphasise the importance of each individuals freedom and liberty.  And by each I mean...........every man, woman and child.

As the next stage of human evolution continues to develop there is truly no place for INTOLERANCE.

Of course I'm referring to INTOLERANCE that is directed toward personal human behavior that harms no one other than the person conducing the behavior.

I see and hear things in this election that border on the edge of REALLY UGLY.

UGLY applies to hate, intolerance, revenge.

I suppose previous elections have had bits and pieces of UGLY but this seems different.

WHY IT SEEMS DIFFERENT MUST BE VIEWED FROM THE VERY CORE OF OUR NATURE.

THE CENTER OF OUR BEINGS.

THE PLACE WHERE LOVE IS BORN AND WHERE IT RESIDES EVERY SINGLE WAKING MOMENT OF OUR LIVES.

AT THE CENTER OF OUR BEINGS IS THE CREATOR
AND
THERE IS NO
SPACE
IN THE
CENTER
FOR
HATE
INTOLERANCE
AND
REVENGE

When hate, intolerance and revenge tries to exist at the center.....everything gets
discombobulated, fuzzy and strange.

We get glimpses of both perfection and chaos because we are human and there's a whole bunch of area outside of the center that make up our entire mass.

WE
ALL
END
UP
IN
THE
CENTER

SOME JUST GET THERE SOONER THAN OTHERS

SOME NEVER GET THERE UNTIL PHYSICAL REALITY IS GONE

EVERYBODY GETS A PEAK FROM TIME TO TIME
and
everything works perfect
every time

sometimes

Joe handles Eddie Munster by just being Joe. Always keep in mind that the Vice-President could become President in a split second and Mr. Biden seems much more qualified to fill that role than Mr. Ryan.

This is really strange and maybe a little funny

The other day I made my first face since the CVA.  Keep in mind that when I make one of these images it's done in a matter of seconds.

No thought....just design.

Matter of seconds!

(I do female faces that are a bit more serious and side views of male faces that are cartoonish, but this style of face emerged during the same time period that Mark Zuckerburg was developing Facebook in his Harvard dorm in 2003.  I ended up with 75 silly faces and Mark ended up with 25 billion dollars.....thus the difference between algorithms and art)

I looked at the face and was rather stunned.  The CVA has left me with no peripheral vision on the left side.

That almost completely closed eye in the drawing is my left eye.

When I showed my physical therapist the drawing she immediately said that I should do more because they were a good exercise.

I explained about the series I had done in 2003...and that the one above was simply created on a whim in one of my journals.  She stated once more that as a physical therapist she couldn't think of a better exercise then to do this type of work.

The fact that she called it work made me feel really really good.

I honestly thought that I had exhausted this particular period of "goofy faces" but perhaps I should listen to the medical expert and start another series.

Maybe go much much much BIGGER.

There is a moral to this story and it centers on the fact that when one has a negative experience which affects physical or mental abilities, it is very important to re-enter the arena
of experience and make it happen captain.

I'm really going to try and make a mountain out of a molehill.

Things could get very interesting.

Detroit, Oakland, New York, Baltimore, Dallas/Ft.Worth,Atlanta,Washington D.C.,Cincinnati and St. Louis

The cities listed above are not as concerned with the Presidential debates because for a few more days their attention is turned to something much more important. Hopefully their attention won't end until late October and early November but that privilege will only be shared by the two cities who get to experience the World Series.

My silly prediction is.......Washington vs Detroit....but it will probably be New York vs San Francisco

POST SEASON BASEBALL...or as Derek Jeter says, "The REAL season now begins."

Of course there is a large contingent of people in each of those locals that couldn't care less about baseball but I'm guessing those people who don't care about baseball.....are commies and idiots....or convicted felons and the fanatics of the religious right.

Obvioulsy I place baseball fairly high on the list of things people should like.

My guess is that not too many Mormons care about baseball and that won't change until Salt Lake City gets a franchise and that won't happen until the Elders decide they need a team to go along with their Mormon President and that won't happen unless Barack Obama forgets to explain why things are they way they are.

EXAMPLE:
Romney keeps saying the following fact:
47 MILLION PEOPLE ARE ON FOOD STAMPS
23 MILLION WHEN OBAMA TOOK OVER

REASON

Because after the fiscal collapse of 2008, millions of people were hurting and the reason they are on food stamps is because
THEY NEED FOOD

IS ROMNEY GOING TO REJECT ALL FOOD STAMP REQUEST FROM THE 24 MILLION PEOPLE WHO NEED FOOD JUST TO GET BACK TO 2008 NUMBERS?

This is just small excerpt from one study:

Every day, children in every county in the United States wake up hungry. They go to school hungry. They turn out the lights at night hungry.

That is one of the stunning key findings of a new study to be released Thursday by Feeding America, a network of 200 food banks and the largest hunger charity in the country.
As many as 17 million children nationwide are struggling with what is known as food insecurity. To put it another way, one in four children in the country is living without consistent access to enough nutritious food to live a healthy life, according to the study, "Map the Meal Child Food Insecurity 2011."

www.feedthechildren.org

Anyone who has their eyes open knows that hunger is a problem in this country and especially for children.  There shouldn't be one child going to bed hungry at night in The United States of America and there are MILLIONS

OBAMA NEEDS TO JAM SOME FOOD INFO DOWN MITT'S THROAT

and then Mitt keeps saying that Obama plans on cutting 2 TRILLION dollars from the military budget.

The annual military budget is around $700 BILLION AND THAT IS TEN TIMES WHAT THE CHINESE SPEND so any trimming from the military will still leave us with a massive and aggressive edge on any other country.

Since we are officially the Wyatt Earp of planet Earth we need to have the biggest and best of every military toy....AND WE DO.....WITH PLENTY LEFT OVER.

THE MILITARY SPENDING CUTS THAT OBAMA ANNOUNCED IN 2011 WOULD TOTAL $400 BILLION AND WOULD TAKE AFFECT OVER A 12 YEAR PERIOD.

WE'VE ALL HEARD ABOUT OVER BILLING IN THE MILITARY AND REDUNDANCY SHOULD ACTUALLY BE A RANK.  Have you forgotten about the $700 hammers and the $12,000 toilets?

REDUNDANCY OFFICER should be right behind Major.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THE IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN WAR COST ARE NOT PART OF THE MILITARY BUDGET so when those events finally do end there will be a huge savings to the overall debt numbers.

OBAMA NEEDS TO EXPLAIN WHY THINGS ARE THE WAY THEY ARE!

He truly acted like he didn't want to be in Denver last night and Mitt on the other hand was pumped and ready to go......but it's not a one debate game.....it's a three quarters game and I have to believe that Barack has the conditioning in place to finish extremely strong......BUT

PRESIDENT OBAMA NEEDS TO EXPLAIN WHY THINGS ARE THE  WAY THEY ARE!

In the meantime.....let's

PLAY BALL!

CVA, RNA and longest break since I started

I entered the blogosphere on Christmas Day 2006 and this was the longest I've been away from it.  I think I have a fairly valid  excuse.  I'm not going to go into too much detail but if you are interested simply Google CVA.........and look for the topic having to deal with health related issues.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stroke

Suffice to say, the final words from the Neurologist, as I was leaving the hospital were.....RESUME NORMAL ACTIVITY.  I told her I was a marathon runner and she replied that at least I still had my sense of humor....I then started to explain that it was irony not humor and she called security.

After three days in the beautiful new Santa Monica Hilton Hospital (all rooms are single and the wing just opened a year ago) I finally got to see the pictures of my incident.  I will be able to get a disk of all 188 pictures captured by the MRI machine when I pick up my records this week.

The incident happened at the golf course on 9/11/12 and was entirely visual related.  No fainting no blackouts....just blank spots and lots of color patterns.  I think it was a terrorist attack but I have no concrete proof.  One week later I returned to the same course and played 18 holes.

I shot 238 but I finished the round.

Seriously I shot 84....which is considered normal for me.....I shoot lower but I also shoot higher so 84 with a CVA incident is quite acceptable.

I have a left side peripheral vision issue and an occasional Christmas tree light show in that same area.  I can read and I can write.....well, maybe not write right but then again there's always been a question regarding writing well or writing right or whether what I do is considered writing. Probably the most important thing is that.......I can still dance.

I do know that what I'm able to do, with letters, is convey my point of view and over the last six years MIND JAZZ has, at the very least, proven to be an extension of what I find to be true.

Yes that line rhymes and you might want to read it again and a little faster....or never read it again.

It's possible that everything could get much more colorful in my life and if you have seen my artwork than you might simply ask.....HOW IS THAT GOING TO BE POSSIBLE?  If you haven't seen my artwork than what are you even doing here reading this blog?  Get outa here.....go away or I call the Blogspot Google Police and have you apprehended.

Having a CVA incident is kinda like being 90....you can say anything you want and just follow it up with.....oh excuse me I had a stroke.

To be honest I think I had my first CVA incident at a Rolling Stones concert in 1968

I will use the CVA term much more often than the word stroke.....for obvious reasons.  Very similar to the Changing Levels vs Dead phraseology.  Soft stroking language games....no pun intended.

I start optical therapy next week and perhaps the left side peripheral vision will improve but the way neurons work in the brain I have a feeling that the therapy will be focused on how to deal with my new visual reality.

*************************************************

I'm happy to report that my boycott of watching NFL regular season games is still going strong, although I'm pretty sure I might be going solo.  I think Tom Sullivan might be on board but it's a small movement.  Watching football games on Monday night, Thursday night and Sunday day and night really is a tremendous waste of time.  I can be running down the beach having another CVA incident instead of couped up inside.  I think about the time watching Concussion City over the years and I feel somewhat ashamed.  I have done many pieces of art while watching the games so I have a slight line of defense.....obviously much better than the Rams.  My boycott has not been tested by a televised Ram game so I still have that hurdle to encounter.

I do look at the scores in the paper on Monday morning.

I JUST REALIZED THAT I DIDN'T WRITE A BLOG ABOUT WHY I'M BOYCOTTING THE NFL REGULAR SEASON.

OMG...... I WOULD HAVE SWORN I WROTE ABOUT IT.....BUT THEN I HAVE TO REMIND MYSELF THAT I'VE HAD A.........A) CVA
                                                                             B) STROKE

I'm boycotting the watching of regular season NFL games because the owners of the teams, of which 90% are extremely wealthy Republicans, decided to start the season on a Wednesday night for the first time in the history of the NFL.

THAT WEDNESDAY JUST HAPPENED TO BE THE SECOND NIGHT OF THE DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION.....WHEN FORMER PRESIDENT WILLIAM JEFFERSON CLINTON WAS GIVING HIS KEYNOTE ADDRESS.

The powers that be in the Republican party say that they moved it from Thursday in respect for President Obama......and the reason they didn't move it to FRIDAY???????????????

THOSE YOKELS HAD FOUR YEARS TO BE AWARE OF WHEN THE CONVENTION WOULD CONVENE AND ADJOURN.

TO SCHEDULE THAT GAME ON A THURSDAY OR A WEDNESDAY DURING AN ELECTION YEAR IS A BLATANT ACT OF DISRESPECT AND SMELLS LIKE A KARL ROWE MOMENT.  I'M SURE THERE'S AN ARMY OF REPUBLICAN KARL ROWE WANNABE DICKHEADS WHO JUST SIT AROUND THINKING OF HOW TO DISRUPT THE POLITICAL PROCESS AND TILT IN THE DIRECTION OF THE VERY WRONG RIGHT.

All I can do is make a very small statement. The playoffs will occur well after the election and if the Republicans win the White House I might never watch another professional game.  I really do have better things to do with my time.....and so do you....because after everything is said and done.....the amount of time we do have in this physical reality portion of our life.....can be much better spent than watching well conditioned fully armored athletes try to avoid being injured on every single play.

College football is another story and where my entire 2012 football focus will be centered.  Of course it's only centered on one team located across the street from the LA Coliseum.

Go Trojans

Stay back CVA's

Deja vu two

A few years ago I wrote a piece about Voyager leaving our solar system.  I realize there are two Voyagers but they were both launched in 1977 so they can't be too far apart even though V2 is on a slower trajectory.  Keep in mind 100,000 miles is a very short distance when dancing through space.

Obviously I'm quite confused because yesterday it was reported that Voyager 1 is getting ready to "leave the bubble."

The "BUBBLE" refers to the hellopause which sits outside the hellosheath which rests outside the termination shock zone.

I THOUGHT THAT PARTICULAR EVENT OCCURRED A FEW YEARS AGO and if I take time to research my archives I'm pretty sure I can locate the story.

OF COURSE I COULD BE EXPERIENCING A HUGE SLICE OF DEJA VU....but it's so hard to tell during election years because EVERYTHING seems to be a deja vu.

In fact....I think I wrote that line 5 years ago.

Voyager 1 is 11.3 BILLION miles from the sun and apparently is getting very close to exiting our teeny tiny solar system,  BUT (AND THIS IS HUGE BUTT....EVEN BIGGER THAN J'LO) scientists don't know where the edge of the solar system is......BUT....(lots of butts here) they think the spacecraft MUST be getting close.

HUH?

They don't know where the edge is but Voyager must be getting close.

There appears to be some scientific guessing involved in when the actual event might happen so I don't feel so bad about thinking that it already happened because maybe it did happen and those brainiacs just forgot.  No one ever said science was an exact science.

One of the nice sidebars to the traveling Voyager show is that IT carries a record of human experiences on the planet Earth.....and maybe a little moon tale.

It's a GOLDEN RECORD and it looks like this......

...........and I swear to God that I've never seen this image before and I can show you a few paintings of mine that look quite similar.

Of course anyone suffering from repeated sessions of Deja Vu could be potentially stealing anything and everything over and over and over.

A few years ago I wrote a piece about Voyager leaving our solar.....OMG it's happening again....I am so sorry and I am so sorry and I am so sor------------stop it!

I'm pretty sure this anomaly is caused by the election frenzy that is just heating up.

THE BEST THING I'VE HEARD SO FAR FROM EITHER PARTY IS THE DEAL PRESIDENT OBAMA MADE WITH THE AUTOMOBILE COMPANIES WHEN HE BAILED THEM OUT.

THE DEAL CONCERNS THE MILES PER GALLEON THAT NEW CARS MUST REACH BY TWO DIFFERENT DATES

34 MPG BY 2016 AND 50 BY 2024

THIS IS A HUGE STORY AND ONE THAT DOESN'T GET TOLD ENOUGH.

I HAVE HEARD THAT MITT WOULD GET RID OF IT IF HE IS ELECTED.

WHY ON EARTH WOULD ANYONE WANT TO REVERSE THAT AGREEMENT?

WHY?  (it's not that hard to answer)

I MUST BE WRONG......THE REPUBLICAN PARTY COULDN'T BE THAT STUPID
COULD THEY?

Since they don't believe in Global Warming maybe they don't believe in good gas mileage....and it follows that they don't believe Voyager will ever leave our solar system. They don't know why so many people are on food stamps and they don't believe health care should be available to everyone....and they don't believe rich people should pay higher taxes....and I hate to say it....but they don't seem to think an African American could, should or would ever be elected President of the USA.  There appears to be a certain type of hate that is much different than how we felt about GW.  Democrats thought Bush goofy.  Republicans actually seem to hate Obama.  BIG DIFFERENCE in how the two parties operate.  I remember actually hating Nixon so I remember the attitude....but I grew to be a more loving and tolerant person.  The Republican party sppears to be headed to a place that I would describe as.....ugly.

I really believe I've written all of this before so maybe it's.....

deja vu two too......

A few years ago I wrote a piece about................

Pay very close attention to this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Odawwsxa1mU

I told someone to download the speech by Clint and tell me what they thought of the throat cutting gesture from his RNC speech.

I was told it was not in the speech.

I had taped the entire evening on my DVR machine so I went back and watched it, and lo and behold, IT WASN'T THERE.  I started wondering if I had made it up and then went on YouTube and typed in the actual phrase....
Throat cutting gesture by Clint Eastwood  and wham bam...there it was.  I replayed my recording once more and at the moment where he does the gesture............there's a shot of the crowd.

MY DVR VERSION HAD BEEN TAMPERED WITH AND THEN I REALIZED IT HAD TO BE DONE IN THE CLOUD OF DIGITAL VIDEO RECORDING FOR EVERYONE WHO HAPPENED TO HAVE RECORDED THE LIVE EVENT.

THINK ABOUT THAT FOR A FEW MINUTES!

MY LIVE RECORDING WAS ALTERED!

I TALKED TO FIVE REPUBLICANS TODAY THAT CLAIM THEY DIDN'T SEE THE GESTURE DURING HIS SPEECH.

It's like a giant cloud conspiracy and it extends to every Republican in the land.

OUR RECORDINGS CAN BE ALTERED WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION

WHO DO YOU THINK CAN CONTROL THAT TYPE OF ACTION?

Secret Service, NSA, FBI, CIA......Jason Bourne, Microsoft?????????????????????????

I'm in shock and this is so much bigger than Clint's irresponsible gesture.

This type of action would even surprise Mr. Orwell

WOW!

Get off my lawn

Grand Torino might be my favorite non-western Clint Eastwood movie and his stand up routine at the RNC might be my least favorite performance.  I'm not saying it wasn't entertaining because when all is said and done, it was easily the most compelling moment I've seen at a national convention in a very long time.  There use to be a tension as votes were cast but I can't remember the last time that happened.

Clint stole the show and the proof of that was in the after shows on various networks.  The only thing they were talking about was Mr. Eastwood.  Mr. Romney was an afterthought.

It was great prime time television but I found one moment very disturbing.  When Clint said we should get rid of the man in office who wasn't doing the job....he made a slice the throat gesture.

Knowing how whacky fans can get, I immediately thought of 10,000 Clint stalkers wondering if that was a sign to get the President.

It was an extremely irresponsible gesture coming from a man who appears to be rather level headed. I'm wondering if he appeared simply because his wife needed a boast for her reality TV show, which I haven't watched and probably won't watch.

I will go see his new movie about an aging baseball scout because I love baseball and have always found Clint's movie to be well worth the price of admission.

I wonder how many people on the political fence will alter their vote because of Clint?  My gut feeling is that a lot of movie crazy fans probably don't vote....and then how many people were actually watching the convention?

I've heard that Clint is Pro-Choice and more of a Libertarian than a Republican...and he's obviously a union supporter so his differences with the party seem to be vast so I'm thinking he's really got a bug up his ass about President Obama.

I wonder if it's just a Clint Eastwood/ George Clooney clash?

George seems to have a wider range of planetary interest than Clint so I'm siding with the Clooney model.

MAYBE CLINT AND GEORGE COULD HAVE A DEBATE

THAT WOULD BE GREAT TELEVSION!

DOES ANYONE HAVE MARK BURNETT'S CELL PHONE NUMBER?

Let's make it happen, in this most interesting political season.....which offically starts Friday after the DNC
meets in North Carolina.

Things are heating up with a special thanks to a Hollywood legend.
Who would have thunk?

Heating up and is there a timeline for recovery?

I sometimes wonder if John McCain didn't intentionally pick Sarah Palin so as to guarantee his defeat.  I personally don't think he wanted any part of being President following the 2008 financial meltdown.

Obviously that's too simplistic for the average American to digest but it's not a freakin fact, just my opinion...but if you stop to think about everything John McCain knew in his position as one of the truly elite Senators in Congress, it's not hard to imagine.  The selection of Sarah Palin was one of the most incompetent political decisions ever made on the national Presidential stage and in truth if it wasn't a mistake then it becomes one of the most brilliant decisions by a person attempting to protect a wonderful legacy of public service.

If John McCain was President right now......a Republican might not be elected for the next 25 years.

Imagine President McCain trying to lead the recovery of the 2008 recession and trying to be reelected.

Most likely he'd be in the same position as President Obama......trying to explain why the recovery is taking so long.....and he would have to be validating the Republican administration from 2000 to 2008.

Republicans keep saying that Obama simply blames Bush and doesn't do anything to improve the present situation.  Republicans latest verbiage goes something like the following, when talking to a Democrat....."I don't want to hear all that crap about Bush; that's over...talk about why unemployment is still high and the economy hasn't recovered."

CAN A LEGITIMATE RECESSION BE FIXED IN 4 YEARS?......6 YEARS?......8 YEARS?

2008 WAS A LEGITIMATE RECESSION!

Is there a true time frame for recovery?

I'd like to clear up something from the liberal democratic point of view.

IT'S NOT GEORGE W. BUSH THAT WE KEEP BRINGING UP.

IT'S THE WALL STREET AND BANKING BIG BUSINESS GREED THAT WAS OVERLOOKED BY THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION WHICH ALLOWED EXCESSIVE GAMBLING ON THE PART OF MORTGAGE LENDERS AND BROKERS.

Now everybody knows that deregulation of the financial institutions is a prime reason for the fast and loose behavior.

Ronald Reagan was a champion of deregulation and Bush 41 and Clinton simply added fuel to the fire.

George W. was simply in position as it all came to a head, and his intellectual foundation just wasn't strong enough to stop the floodgates of greed and reckless behavior.

TAX BREAKS FOR THE WEALTHIEST AMERICANS SHOULD NOT BE A PRIORITY OVER HELPING THE DISENFRANCHISED.
and
ANYBODY WHO BECAME PRESIDENT ON JANUARY 21st 2009 WAS GOING TO BE FACING A HUGE
PROBLEM

I personally think that President Obama has given us stabilized foundation on which to progress forward.

I don't think we should still be in Afghanistan but that's another issue.

THE REPUBLICANS ARE ATTACKING HIM BECAUSE OF THE ECONOMY....of which he truly inherited AND WHICH BY ALL ACCOUNTS SEEMS TO BE GETTING BETTER.

Of course it's all based on who you listen to and what you read.

REPUBLICANS WANT US TO THINK WE ARE IN HORRIBLE SHAPE AND THE ONLY THING THAT WILL SAVE US IS ELECTING MITT ROMNEY.

We've been down the path of BIG BUSINESS CONQUERS ALL MENTALITY and we are trying to recover from the damage.

WHY IN GOD'S NAME WOULD WE WANT TO RE-ESTABLISH THAT PATH?

We needed health care reform and we got it....we needed to be  done in Iraq and we are almost there....we needed a leader who made the rest of the world respect our intelligence and we got that........we needed to catch Osama bin Laden and we did that.

I think we need to leave things alone and see if the economic recovery continues to take place, on a time table that nobody knows for sure, under the leadership of someone who appears to be morally and ethically honorable.

THE ELECTION IS NOW OFFICALLY HEATING UP AND TONIGHT MITT ROMNEY WILL SHARE THE MAGICAL UNDERWEAR AND REVEAL THE GOLDEN TABLETS
AND WE
SHALL
BE SAVED

or not

By the way......Please do not point out the poll jump after tonight...it always happens after every convention

Seriously

This might be the best song I've heard in 20 years.
Fills gaps in taste that I didn't think possible.

Friday, August 24, 2012

Did you get your share yet?

I just read an article this morning in the LA Times that had these exact words.........

"The Federal Reserve said that taxpayers ended up earning $17.7 billion from the central bank's role in bailing out insurance giant American International Group Inc."

TAXPAYERS
EARNED
$17.7 BILLION

TAXPAYERS
EARNED!

So, that earned money goes into the Federal Reserve balance statement and they turn around and issue payments to taxpayers of the United States?

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

Seriously having problems being able to stop laughing

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Congress had set up a law which allows for ELECTED officials to receive a bonus from any government bailout that turns a profit....but of course that's just my personal paranoia prancing proudly down the highway.

TAXPAYER'S EARNED $17.7 BILLION

That's about as realistic as Todd Akin from Missouri getting elected to the House of Representatives for three consecutive terms.  OMG!

The other strange comment from that goofball was when he said...."There should be SOME penalty for legitimate rape."

SOME?

THREE CONSECUTIVE TERMS STARTING IN 2000 FROM THE 2ND DISTRICT OF MISSOURI!

SOME?

TAXPAYERS EARNED $17.7 BILLION
and
SOME PENALTIES FOR RAPE

HUH?

Nice to know FUN is still possible

I admit I don't listen to a lot of indie and alternative music but that's mainly due to the simple fact that it lacks a sensible rhythm that works in my frontal lobe where music gets processed into toe-tapping and ultimately..............dancing.

ALL INDIE, ALTERNATIVE AND HOUSE MUSIC HAS A BEAT....AND THAT BEAT IS REPEATED OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND ONANDONANDONANDONANDON.....

RHYTHM IS GENERALLY MISSING

I heard a group last night, from that genre, that absolutely got me toe-tapping and then dancing.......without being intoxicated or high.

These guys are  great and I'm probably way behind the eight ball on this discovery but I talked to four people last night that didn't know about them, so I'm ahead of some curve.  Of course I didn't talk to anybody under 40 so it wasn't a perfect sampling.

 Listen to a few songs.

IT'S ALWAYS NICE TO KNOW THAT fun IS STILL POSSIBLE FOR THOSE OF US WHO HAVE CROSSED THE BRIDGE OF TIME.......

Nate Ruess, Jack Antonoff and Andrew Dost

fun
fun
fun
fun
fun

and a soft side bar......Happy 93rd Dad.....first time in my life I can't say it to your face.

Last few Olympic thoughts

On the Friday night before closing weekend Tom Brokaw did a one hour feature segment, as part of the Olympic coverage, called "OUR FINEST HOURS."

In my humble opinion it was the best ONE HOUR explanationsof how, why and when the United States decided to help Great Britain in their battle against fuckhead Hitler.  The Churchill/Roosevelt interplay was concise and poignant and while I've read and seen hundreds of hours on the subject, this was the best limited interpretation I've ever witnessed.

I was reminded quite deeply on how intertwined our two countries have been......and will continue to be..... as long as liberty and individual freedoms are treasured.

The royalty thing is bit over the top but that's another story.

Monday morning after the Olympics I was listened to Dan Patrick and he had Mr. Brokaw on as a guest.
It turns out the reason Tom was in London, working for NBC as a feature commentator, was in case a terrorists attack occurred he would be there to cover it.  They had a separate studio all set up and ready to go if something happened.

It's so nice to think that no one was needed for that type of story.

The Olympics and the Olympics alone stole the show and sometimes things do work out exactly as they were intended.

Thank God

It just simply feels good

The sign of the times....I was going to write my Olympic wrap up during the final day of competition but decided I needed to wait until after the closing ceremonies just in case something got blown up.

It's now Monday morning and I'm still waiting for The Who to perform so maybe that's who got blown up.

The London 2012 Olympic experience ended yesterday and while I can name multiple moments that rocked my world, the main thing I will remember is....

IT SIMPLY FEELS GOOD TO WATCH COUNTRIES OF THE PLANET EARTH COME TOGETHER AND CELEBRATE THE PHYSICAL AND MENTAL ATTRIBUTES OF THE HUMAN SPECIES.

The physical attributes are obvious....the mental attributes relate to the dedication and discipline it takes to achieve those physical levels of excellence.

By the way.......I'm wondering if Elton John feels snubbed......he is a Knight  and his record sales have to be larger than George Michaels.

I'm still having problems figuring out why Argentina only got 4 medals.  The country has 40 million people and obviously no political commitment to athletic excellence.  Maybe they play too much polo.

Jamaica ,on the other hand, has 2.5 million people and they won 12 medals.

So I'm let to believe that smoking a ton a weed and running from the sheriff is much more conducive to winning Olympic medals than I would have previously thought.

Somehow I think Argentina's lack of medals is related to their harboring of German officers after World War 11 but that's just my twisted mental circuitry reaching for answers.

I have many favorite moments but if I had to choose one for best of show I would select the women's 4 x 100 relay.  They set a world record and they beat those Rastafarian chicks from Jamaica.

Usian Bolt seems to get the same reaction that Cassius Clay first got when he started mouthing off about how great he was.  Lots of people can't stand it when someone toots their own horn about being the greatest of all time........turns out that they were both right.  Now how funny would it be if Usian Bolt changed his name to Bob Smith.

Four more years to Rio and two more years to Soi????/ Russia.  As one gets older one simply thinks that it would be nice to be around for the next Olympics.

Actually, looking at the world tension, I guess that hope could be a thought for any age.

And then we've got that December 21, 2012 fiasco to deal with.......

Sorry to end this Olympic experience on a downer note but truthfully I didn't create the paranoia. I'm just reporting the facts.......or am I reporting goofy perceptions by a group of highly intelligent animals that can't figure out how to live in peace?

At least the Olympics shows that lots of different people can spend two weeks competing without someone killing someone.

I'll take that reality to the medal stand and salute the human species for a job well done.

First 7 days and Michael's world

Today is Saturday and the 2012 Olympic experience is half over. Of course my Olympic experience is limited to a 32 inch old style television that weighs about 100 lbs....and the Los Angeles Times.

Attempting to avoid  news flashes throughout the day, so that I can watch the events on NBC's prime time telecast, is also a sport in its own right. Bobbing and weaving and turning the ears off has left me exhausted on certain days.  It's a contest every time I start a day trying to avoid the multiple people, both professional and personal, who want to tell me exactly what happened before the 8 PM broadcast.

Why NBC can't broadcast the glamour events live in the morning and then re-broadcast in Prime Time is the big question. It only last for two weeks and probably most viewers that would watch in the daytime would turn around and watch it again at night....but of course that's another entire story.

Back to the avoidance game I play everyday.....I lost the battle big time on the day that the Fab Five won gold in Gymnastics.  I avoided everything all day and at 7:45 pm I was watching the Dodger game....and suddenly my favorite voice in the world, Vin Scully, says the following....."it's a low outside fast ball for strike two and the crowd roars as the gold medal winning gymnastics team picture is flashed on the big screen in left field."

Seriously!

The girls were great but my only question is related to the night where they were all trying to qualify for the overall and Jordan Weiber lost by a slight margin and one of the things they pointed out was she stepped out of bounds by 6 inches on the floor exercise.  Gabby, on her floor exercise, almost went into the parking lot of Windsor Castle and nobody seemed that concerned.  Scoring was a bit harsh against Jordan and a bit soft for Gabby....but obviously this was Gabby's moment as we would discover two nights later when she became the third USA winner in a row to capture the all-around Gold.

GABBY

We've only had one previous famous Gabby and Hayes was his last name and unless one watches old western movies this Gabby is the first Gabby to shine in the arena of public adulation....and she will shine.

Gabby will be a one word explanation for kids all over the world.  A  two year old in Atlanta, Georgia will do a flip in the sand box and mom will yell..."that's a great Gabby honey, do it again."

If she gets caught smoking a bong in the next few months then she will learn how Michael Phelps felt after being the darling of the sports world following his Beijing EXPLOSION.

THE ATHLETE CREATES AN IMAGE BY PERFORMANCE AND THEN THE MEDIA JUST SITS AND WAITS FOR A MOMENT TO POUNCE.

There's actually a group of media employee's who help create the bad vibes from the very first minute of success.  When someone asks a person, who just won a Silver medal, what went wrong they are labeling them a loser.  I call it the Jim Gray syndrome. A few Olympics ago Jim Gray asked an American runner who finished second..."why didn't you run faster?"  The runner looked at him and walked away.

The woman doing the interviews at the swimming competition has the Jim Gray disease.

Dan Patrick should be the Interview Commissioner of SPORTS.  Anybody wanting to question an athlete should have to first be vetted by Dan.

But in the meantime the London 2012 Olympics has allowed us another chance to see the greatest Olympian of all time.

I don't know what Michael Phelps did tonight in London, during his final swim on the relay team, but he could actually fall backwards off the starting blocks and probably recover fast enough to get another medal.

In our lifetime and in our children's children's lifetime we will never see another
Michael Phelps.

It's so amazing that at the beginning of this Olympics there were groups of people who claimed they didn't like him.......for whatever reason, including the fact that he won too much.  The personal attacks make no sense because he's a very private person so unless you hang out with him in Baltimore and have real time experiences then not liking him is completely nonsensical.

Anybody who follows any sport has to pause and acknowledge the simple fact that
Michael Phelps
might be
the greatest athelte who has ever lived.

That makes the London 2012 Olympics a true milestome event.

And we still have Track and Field....and I've heard rumors that Michael might anchor
the 1600 meter relay.

Salute to Hef

In 1958 I was 12 years old and Playboy was five.  Even though it was five years younger than I,  it proved to be a guiding parental shaped influence none the less. Moral issues were absorbed by osmosis of close content with the writing. Between the ages of 12 and 30 I was a regular reader although never a subscriber.  Between 1977 and 1987 I was married and on some occasions, while out of town on business, would select Playboy as my evening companion. From 1988 to 1994 I would entertain a Playboy edition once in awhile.

Since 1994 I've only seen a few issues and that's strictly because I have issues which I don't care to discuss at this particular time. They aren't secret issues just issues not relevant to this article....and they are issues that can't be rectified by pictures of women with large breasts.  I've always preferred a smaller mammary gland look, so Playboy's centerfolds always were a bit over the top for me.  Of course when I was 13-20 I just liked looking at any beautiful woman without her clothes on....and Playboy had a style and a texture that fulfilled that desire in a most complete manner. The actual layouts were always done with extreme class and elegance. Picking up the other competitive magazines from time to time was generally disappointing.  Playboy was crisp and clean.  Penthouse was crude and Hustler was like a bad "B" movie.

Playboy separated itself with it's content....both in the arenas of humor and political issues.

The interviews during the 60's and the 70's were extremely important on so many different levels.

Hugh Hefner always appeared to be on the sensible and honest side of issues. I'm fairly certain that his stand on racial equality was equal in importance to white America as was Martin Luther King's importance to black America.

I realize that statement needs to be absorbed for a few minutes.

In retrospect I think a very strong case could be made for Hugh Hefner's importance in the awareness of racial injustice in America.....and how that injustice was softly introduced through a literary publication that also showed beautiful young women with their clothes off.

IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN THE ONLY WAY TO INTRODUCE THE SUBJECT TO A VERY LARGE PORTION OF THE YOUNG WHITE AMERICAN MALE POPULATION.

I'm not certain that his original intentions were to wake up America to racial injustices, but after awhile he had to see that it truly was part of the Playboy agenda.

I also realize that today we have a very large segment of our white adult male population ( mostly Republicans) that will do anything to assure that our African American President is a one term President.  Playboy needs to make a circulation comeback like in 1972 when it sold 7 million copies a month....or expand to uptight foreign markets. Currently the circulation in the U.S is 1 and 1/2 million.

There are many countries that ban the sale of Playboy including India and China. I think it's interesting to equate America in the 60's to those countries today.  Most Muslim countries forbid the sale, except Lebanon and Turkey.

There were extreme condemnations of Playboy by woman's groups throughout the years....but I believe that woman's rights and their position in business and politics owes a large thank you to Mr. Hefner and his magazine.

Religious organizations are usually at the heart of the protests and if you think of women's rights in Muslim countries then it's easy to see why Playboy India, Playboy China, Playboy Saudi Arabia, Playboy Pakistan, Playboy Iran and Playboy Thailand SHOULD IMMEDIATELY BE PUBLISHED.....on a weekly basis.

SOMETHING IS GOOFY IN THOSE COUNTRIES AND A HUGE PART OF THAT SOMETHING HAS TO DO WITH THE INDIVIDUAL FREEDOM AND THE INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS OF WOMEN.

HUGH....WE NEED YOU MORE THAN EVER ..........ON A GLOBAL BASIS.

I realize that you are 86 but maybe you've got 14 years left to keep the ball rolling.....or in your case.....the balls.

I salute you sir.....but keep your hands off my daughter.

John Conner needed in the board room

The SINGULARITY was named by the gentleman shown above....Ray Kerzweil.

http://www.kurzweilai.net/

From Lev Grossman TIME MAGAZINE SCIENCE 2011

On Feb. 15, 1965, a diffident but self-possessed high school student named Raymond Kurzweil appeared as a guest on a game show called I've Got a Secret. He was introduced by the host, Steve Allen, then he played a short musical composition on a piano. The idea was that Kurzweil was hiding an unusual fact and the panelists — they included a comedian and a former Miss America — had to guess what it was.
On the show (see the clip on YouTube), the beauty queen did a good job of grilling Kurzweil, but the comedian got the win: the music was composed by a computer. Kurzweil got $200.

(Watch TIME's video "Singularity: How Scared Should We Be?")
Read more: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,2048299,00.html#ixzz20coU733t

The difficult thing to keep sight of when you're talking about the Singularity is that even though it sounds like science fiction, it isn't, no more than a weather forecast is science fiction. It's not a fringe idea; it's a serious hypothesis about the future of life on Earth. There's an intellectual gag reflex that kicks in anytime you try to swallow an idea that involves super-intelligent immortal cyborgs, but suppress it if you can, because while the Singularity appears to be, on the face of it, preposterous, it's an idea that rewards sober, careful evaluation.

In October there will be a SINGULARITY CONFERENCE in San Francisco.
http://www.kurzweilai.net/singularity-summit-2012

I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THIS CONFERENCE BROADCAST ON PBS.....but I realize that won't happen so why not Pay Per View?

THIS IS A SUBJECT THAT NEEDS TO BE RESEARCHED AND ANY SHORT ARTICLE THAT I CAN WRITE WOULD BE SENSELESS.

READ ABOUT SINGULARITY AND MR. KURZWEIL

I've been looking into Ray and I'm not sure he will be attending the conference and in fact I can't find anything about his current activities.  If you have more current info on him please let me know.

I'd like to see a movie with Tesla and Kurzweil meeting in a time wrapped created pub.

And then they both go back to 1901 and design everything for the 20th and 21st century

Ok....I guess I'll start writing it after I get back from the Dodger game.
