Art and more art and something else besides art

Last Sunday night I attended a preview showing of The Vanishing Bees, which I wrote about on the 24th. At the time I said that the person's house, where the event was held, was another story and thus..... this is the other story.

Leigh McCloskey likes to refer to himself as a modern Renaissance Man.

I think it's fairly safe to say that he is a very dedicated artist who is able to verbalize his experience while at the same time illustrate the experience......on a level that I personally have never seen.

It almost resembles a madness and yet the clarity of his ideals pause one to stop before making the slide into judging his passions as a form of madness.

I'm using the word madness freely in this explanation because I've been to the room where much of this started.....and extreme dedication to a project can often times seem like a form of insanity.

Leigh explains that the HIEROGLYPH of the Human Soul started on the day after 9/11.....but I think the origins of this incredible experience date back many many years.

http://www.leighmccloskey.com/Artist/adam_eve.htm

The beginnings of this incredible work probably go back quite a few lifetimes.

The idea of reincarnation plays very heavily on my psyche while looking at his art and then when he speaks.... it seems to reinforce that he has had extended observations beyond the current physical reality.

But of course this could be my insanity that observes and my madness that speculates and theorizes.

Leigh holds "meetings" at his house every Tuesday to discuss various matters of the mind, heart, art and soul experiences.

I've known about the Tuesday meetings for awhile but have not attended because I was "hesitant" of the intensity that I assumed would be involved. But after talking to Leigh for just a few minutes I realize that he also posses a sense of humor and therefore I will be going out there sometime in the near future.

I'm not a go to meeting kind of guy. I'm not a join the club kind of guy. I'm not a fraternity kind of guy and I'm for sure not interested in any spiritual organization that has organization at it's very core.

What I am into though is new discoveries of our true purpose and anything that has to do with ......
Soul Awareness Development.......

Which brings me to one of my Neo-Illuminations....

Soul Awareness Development is sad for awhile and then it becomes obvious that SAD simply cannot be......

My NE0-ILLUMINATION experience should be quite interesting to a person with Leigh's insights....while at the same time I will be able to revisit the feeling of "reincarnation validation" while in his incredible room.

I highly suggest you go to his website, Leigh McCloskey.com, which is listed on the right side of the article under Favorites, and begin a fascinating experience.

The visual part of the experience will be well worth your time.

The spiritual side of your experience is entirely up to you.

Enjoy learning something new or enjoy having your soul awareness validated.

Or simply appreciate the controlled madness.

It's all good!

Mini spill

The Exxon Valdez oil spill was around 10 Million gallons.

The Gulf of Mexico oil spill will be around 25 MILLION gallons.

THE OIL SPILLS FROM THE GULF WAR OF 1991 WAS 240 MILLION GALLONS.

240 MILLION! That means the Persian Gulf, The Gulf of Oman, The Arabian Sea and The Indian Ocean were all affected....and probably still are being affected.

We don't seem to hear very much about the ecological damage to that area and that could be because it's not OUR area.

But it is our area if it happens on the planet.

240 Million vs 24 million. I'm sure that doesn't make the people along the gulf coast feel any better but maybe there's cleanup solutions that we haven't considered.

A BLOWOUT, while drilling for oil, is not uncommon so one would think the companies involved would have plans in place just in case....

PLANS IN PLACE JUST IN CASE is the magic missing phrase in corporate America's business plan.

I thought they had oil eating microbes but that might have been in a Michael Crichton novel.

It's also odd that we haven't heard anything about Kevin Costner's machines since it was first reported......are they working?

240 MILLION!.....THAT NUMBER MAKES THE GULF OF MEXICO SPILL A MINI SPILL....even though in a few weeks it won't seem mini along the coast.

SOMEHOW THIS IS BEING BLAMED ON PRESIDENT OBAMA....and some people are even saying that he signed off on the rigs being drilled by BP. I would have thought it took longer than a few years to get everything in place.....but then again I know very little about oil drilling and nuclear testing and pesticide creating, but boy if I did I'd buy a big house where we both could live.......I hope you don't mind........

Maybe we should start reducing everything to a song.

And what song would you pick if St. Peter met you at the gates and told you that the song you pick gets you to the place you are going?

Somethings are just intrinsically more important than oil spills.

OIL NIGHTMARE and I'm not talking about the gulf disaster

In Tuesday's LA TIMES there is an article on the front page by Kim Geiger and Tom Hamburger.

Yeah Hamburger.....

The article, entitled Oil's rich history of federal subsidies, should be read by everyone and then everyone should call their congressmen and women and their senators....and anyone else who has influence within the federal government.

The 2005 Energy Policy Act passed during George Bush's second term contained billions of dollars in tax and royalty relief for oil and gas companies that wanted to drill in the Gulf of Mexico and other off shore locations.

There was a $50 million annual earmark designated to support technical research for the gas and oil industry.

THE GOVERNMENT IS PAYING THE PRIVATE OIL AND GAS COMPANIES $50 MILLION
FOR TECHNICAL RESEARCH.

YOU, WHO ARE PAYING $3.45 A GALLON FOR GAS, ARE PAYING $50 MILLION TO OIL COMPANIES SO THAT THEY CAN DO TECHNICAL RESEARCH.

The bill passed with bipartisan support.... including a yes vote by a senator named Barack Obama.

Giving subsidies for drilling and then adding tax breaks is a double Christmas present. The lost revenue from this generosity tallies in the billions of dollars and for some REMARKABLE reason it continues to this very day.

When the current waiver relief program was approved by Congress in 1995, Oil was $18 a barrel.....today it is over $70......and the subsides and tax breaks continue.

THE REASON THEY CONTINUE IS ONE OF THE REAL CRIMES OF THE 21ST CENTURY.

The royalty relief was to only be applied when oil prices were low.

BUT AN ERROR BY THE INTERIOR DEPARTMENT IN THE DRAFTING OF CONTRACTS CREATED A LOOPHOLE FOR THE OIL COMPANIES AND THE SUBSIDIES WERE NOT TIED TO OIL PRICES.

A clerical error or an error of contractual ambiguity???????

SOMEBODY COMMITTED A CRIME.....AND SOMEBODY IS RECEIVING HUGE BENEFITS.

There are 788 gas and oil company lobbyists registered in Washington DC.

788! And they are spending, spending, spending........and then spending some more.

And how that money gets into the politicians pockets is the magic question.

THE FACT IS.....IT DOES!

GIVING OIL COMPANIES TAX RELIEF FOR DRILLING AND SUBSIDES FOR RESEARCH........WHEN WE KNOW HOW MUCH PROFIT THEY MAKE YEAR IN AND YEAR OUT........... IS ONE OF THE GREAT CRIMES OF OUR LIFETIME.

IT MUST STOP AND OUR PRESIDENT DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE SITUATION.

COULD IT BE THAT EACH AND EVERY ELECTED OFFICIAL IS ON THE OIL COMPANIES PAYROLL?

That's they way to do it.......make sure everyone gets a slice and then no one feels left out and therefore no one complains.

TOO SIMPLE AND WAY TOO POSSIBLE!

Of course that's an outlandish concept and way too unabomberish......but something stinks and the smell is coming from just the other side of the Delaware river.

THE AVERAGE AMERICAN NEEDS TO START ASKING CERTAIN QUESTIONS....EVEN IF THOSE QUESTIONS SEEM REALLY ABSTRACT AND IMPOSSIBLE.

WHY DOES THE GOVERNMENT GIVE OIL COMPANIES ANY TAX RELIEF OR ANY FORM OF SUBSIDY FOR ANYTHING THEY DO?

WHY?

A SIMPLE QUESTION THAT A POLITICIAN WON'T ANSWER EXCEPT WITH THE FAMOUS DOUBLE TALK JARGON.

I HATE IT WHEN THEY START THAT BULLSHIT!

YOU DON'T KNOW THE FACTS AND THEY DO.... AND THEREFORE YOU CAN'T MAKE THE DECISIONS THEY MAKE.

IT'S REALLY BECOMING A MAJOR PROBLEM FOR BOTH PARTIES

OIL COMPANIES RECEIVING SUBSIDIES AND TAX RELIEF MIGHT BE THE FINAL STRAW.

The problem in the Gulf of Mexico is a major environmental issue.

The problem in Washington is a major morality issue.

Which one is more damaging to the human spirit?

BEEEEEEEEEEEEE AWARE

For the last three years I've been babbling about CCD to anyone who might listen. Last night at Leigh McCloskey's IAH (incredible art house), which is another entire story, I met some interesting people who have gone well beyond the babbling stage.

Maryam Henrin and George Langeworthy have made a serious effort to bring Colony Collaspe Disorder to the forefront of cultural awareness.

The method of their serious effort is the one thing that the America public truly seems to love.....FILM.

"VANISHING OF THE BEES." is the title.

These filmmakers have found some amazing actors who aren't actors, some stunning dialogue that is not scripted and they found a horror story that doesn't have to be a horror story but will be....if America's collective awareness doesn't change.

The disappearance of HONEY BEES is a problem that needs to be solved. But before it can be solved it needs to be addressed. And the addressing needs to be done by political and corporate entities.

BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY THE AMERICA PUBLIC NEEDS TO WAKE UP AND REALIZE THAT POLITICIANS AND CORPORATIONS ARE SLEEPING IN THE SAME BED AND WE AREN'T INVITED.

THE AMERICAN PUBLIC NEEDS TO CRASH THE PARTY AND GET A SLEEP OVER.

Maryam and George's film, VANISHING OF THE BEES, brings to light many aspects of the problem including the lack of focus by the politicians. How can a politician tell Dow or Bayer, or anyone of the manufacturers of pesticides, that they have to alter their basic business structure, when they have been receiving elections funds year after year after year.

IT SEEMS OBVIOUS THAT SYSTEMIC PESTICIDES ARE THE PROBLEM.

FROM WIKIPEDIA
Pesticides can be classified based upon their biological mechanism function or application method. Most pesticides work by poisoning pests.[12] A systemic pesticide moves inside a plant following absorption by the plant. With insecticides and most fungicides, this movement is usually upward (through the xylem) and outward. Increased efficiency may be a result. Systemic insecticides, which poison pollen andnectar in the flowers, may kill bees and other needed pollinators.

The film will be opening In August and if you have any interest in hosting a pre-screening then you should contact Maryam at www.vanishingbees.com.

I've always had a special place in my heart for the honey bee and while I don't think I'm a BEE WHISPERER, I do think my Bee experience is one for the ages.

It's really nice to know that people like Maryam and George have been able to construct a foundation for raising awareness on a larger scale.

"VANISHING OF THE BEES"......a Hive Mentality Film.

WATCH FOR IT
AND BETTER THAN THAT......LEARN FROM IT!

WATERWORLD VINDICATED

The " Kevin Costner solution" to the worsening oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico may actually work, and none too soon for the president of Plaquemines Parish.

Costner has invested 15 years and about $24 million in a novel way of sifting oil spills that he began working on while making his own maritime film, "Waterworld," released in 1995.

Two decades later, BP and the U.S. Coast Guard plan to test six of his massive, stainless steel centrifugal oil separators next week. Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser welcomed the effort, even as he and Louisiana officials blasted the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for delays in approving an emergency plan to build sand "islands" to protect the bayous of his parish.

"It certainly is an odd thing to see a 'Kevin Costner' and a 'centrifugal oil separator' together in a place like the Gulf of Mexico," said actor Stephen Baldwin, who is producing a documentary about the oil spill and Costner's device. "But, hey, some of the best ideas sometimes come from the strangest places."

DENNIS HOPPER STATED THAT HE WILL DESTROY THE PROJECT BEFORE IT STARTS WORKING.

KEVIN SAYS....BRING IT ON!

I would charge BP $5 million dollars a day to use my devices....if I was Kevin. But obviously I'm not Kevin and he might donate the machines.

I don't really believe that last statement.....but I love Hollywood endings.

GOOD STORY on LAURA'S 21st BIRTHDAY

The Buzz Log What’s hot on Yahoo! Buzz (and why)...

Our crack team of editors takes a closer look at the hottest trends on Yahoo! Buzz.

An "impossible" star is born. And a hole in space shows what happens once a star is formed. Plus, an out-of-this world zombie! It's your Buzz space roundup.

    Caught on telescope: "impossible" star
Get out of the way, Hollywood. This star will be brighter than every celeb on the planet combined. Scientists’ European-built Herschel space telescope is their version of Tinseltown’s paparazzi, whichcaught on tape the beginning of a big star. And we mean really, really big. So enormous, it would block out the sun. Not to mention Angelina Jolie.

Researchers can't explain how what they're calling the "impossible" star came to be. The star was discovered in a star-forming cloud in the Milky Way Galaxy called RCW 120. And here's the coolest part: Even as a baby star, it is already eight to ten times larger than our sun, and it's still feeding on the gas and dust clouds around it. The star is set to be one of the biggest and brightest stars in our galaxy within the next few hundred thousand years — meaning, this star won't ever be a part of our lives. But hey, if movies are still around in the way future, this gigunda star should seriously considering signing with a talent agent.

    How did that get there?
That's not the only unexplained mystery in space. That same Herschel infrared telescope also picked up an enormous hole in space. A story from Space.com has a scientist noting, and we quote, "No one has ever seen a hole like this." The surprising find is confounding scientists because it is so unexpected. When a star forms, it's surrounded by gas and dust. (See above.) But how a newborn star shakes off the space debris to emerge from its brith cloud hadn't been fully understood. Until now: Black patches near the stars were always around a reflective gas, NGC 1999.

Everyone figured the black patches near the star were gas, but the telescope would have picked up on that. Finally, scientists realized they were looking at a big, empty hole where the space dust used to be — possibly caused by some of the young stars puncturing a hole with the jets of gas. For researchers, this amazing discovery is a helpful step into understanding how a star is formed.

It wants to eat your satellite's brain
Finally, scientists have no idea how to stop a fully powered satellite that has gone rogue and is no longer accepting orders from earth. This so-called "zombie" satellite, known as Galaxy 15 (which carried the SyFy channel), continues along in the Earth's orbit — on a course to interfere with the communications of a fully functioning SES satellite beaming down programming to its customers in Luxembourg. We know, we know: We're just happy it's not us.

JUST SOME SPACE FOOD FOR YOUR THOUGHTS.....DIGEST IT AND THEN BRING IT UP AMONG YOUR FRIENDS.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAURA.....

    THANK YOU CLAUDINE ZAP

No problem until there's a problem

I've always ( for at least 30 years) used the expression, "There's no problem, until there's a problem."

THE EXPRESSION REALLY FITS WHEN USING IT TO DESCRIBE ENDEAVORS THAT CERTAIN PEOPLE WANT TO UNDERTAKE. ENDEAVORS THAT CERTAIN OTHER PEOPLE THINK SHOULD NOT BE UNDERTAKEN.

EXAMPLES:

THE CONSTRUCTION OF NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS

THE CONSTRUCTION OF OFF SHORE OIL DRILLING RIGS

DUMPING TOXIC SUBSTANCES IN THE OCEAN OR IN THE RIVERS

CLIMBING MT.EVERST

SWIMMING WITH SHARKS

CLOSE UP PHOTOGRAPHY OF GRIZZLY BEARS

WRESTLING WITH ALLIGATORS AND CROCODILES AND EELS.

DECIDING THAT YOUR DOG DOESN'T HAVE TO GO FOR A WALK UNTIL MORNING.

SHOPLIFTING

ELECTING A REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

READING STEPHEN KING NOVELS

FREE CLIMBING HALF-DOME AT YOSEMITE

PRACTICING "SAFE" UNPROTECTED SEX

The first three endeavors on the list obviously can affect the greatest number of people when something goes amiss. And it's amazing how adamant supporters of the first two endeavors can be WHEN attempting to construct one or the other.

There seems to be a total lack of mental acuity when recalling previous problems created.

Nuclear reactor problems are problems that not only can affect millions of people but the problems can last about 250,000 years.

Oil rig disasters and oil tanker spills destroy not only life forms that live in the ocean but entire industries that exist because of those life forms....and if the funds paid out by Exxon for the Alaskan oil spill of 1989 are any indication of "retribution," than the victims of the BP disaster, in the Gulf of Mexico, have nothing to look forward to but years of legal double talk, and then a very small sum of money, after their livelihoods have been totally vaporized.

THERE'S NEVER A PROBLEM UNTIL THERE'S A PROBLEM

Seriously!

Sports Post and Moyers leaving PBS

I actually enjoy writing about sports due to the fact that there are obvious winners and losers.
Very little gray area when it comes to competition although finishing second in a PGA tournament and winning $700,000 does take the sting out of not winning.....so in that sense, there might be some gray areas and they usually center around a monetary number.

One of the reasons I don't write regular articles about sports is because there are so too many people doing it.

Back in the day we could read a factual report from one person on a game and then read Jim Murray to get a literary overview on the event. Now there are multiple ex-players waxing prophetically after each game and numerous sport experts that never played the game....letting us know what the players should have done and not done.

The present radio and media coverage of the Lakers is pathetic. Completely geared to a negative outlook no matter what they do.....and then when they win......they didn't win by enough.

I don't think the fans are spoiled but the reporters are extremely spoiled and expect way too much. They don't expect anything out of the Clippers and they get nothing. They expect the Lakers to win the Championship every year and when they don't it gets ugly.

The Lakers are the most successful franchise in the history of the Western United States.....in all sports.

If they are fortunate enough to reach the finals then that's a really great season.

Winning the championship is a huge bonus.....and they've done it 12 times in Los Angeles. Relax and enjoy the ride.....it keeps on coming thanks to Dr. Jerry Buss.

BUT ALL OF THIS WINNING DOES NOT TAKE THE STING OUT OF LOSING BILL MOYERS ON A WEEKLY BASIS.

I started to moisten up as his series ended.

There is nothing to replace his ability to interview the great minds of our time.

Charlie Rose tries but he is not even in the same league. He's got a good team and he tries very hard but Bill Moyers is Willie Mays, Mickey Mantle and Babe Ruth all tied into one superstar player in the world of investigative reporting.

I'm not sure if there's even a remote chance to replace him and that means PBS will be drifting to the bottom of the league.

I will give the new time slot a chance but that's like hoping Russell Martin will start hitting like Joe Mauer.

By the way... Kobe playing the way he did this year, with his injuries, and not getting one first place vote in the MVP race, makes me realize that he is not well liked among the media. He's a bit of a smartass and sports reporters don't like it when a player puts them in their place. And when you put one in his place then they all feel like it's happening to them.

Grow up you little baby scribes.

The real indication of how he is viewed comes down to his number 24 being the TOP selling jersey in the country.....and perhaps in the World.

Being a Ram fan I'm feeling sorry for Sam Bradford. The odd thing is I heard he was a scratch golfer, and with a bad shoulder football doesn't seem like the wisest choice. And then add the Rams offensive line to the mix and it appears that Sam might be a little loony.

How amazing that a 19 year pro golfer from Japan shoots a 58 to win a tour event in Japan on the same day that a 20 year Irish boy shoots a 62 and wins a tour event in America.

Ryo and Roy......the new tag team in golf.

It just seems a few years ago that Tiger was the kid and now he's one of the elder statesmen on the regular tour. It's a good thing he hasn't done anything wrong to affect his reputation.

The Dodgers are doing exactly what I figured......hitting but no pitching. I can't see their staff suddenly becoming dominate. But maybe they will make some kind of deal before June and the second half will prove highly successful.

One can always hope when it comes to the blue boys of summer in the land of Hollyweird......and since no World Series appearance since 1988.....HOPE is quite often all we have.

And one last thing......how can Crystal Bowersox not win American Idol? They've never had anybody like her on the show.

Oh yeah.....and where was Jack during yesterday's Laker game?

And that's a sports wrap!

12 Million and one horse

For various reasons, with Arizona leading the way, the illegal immigration issue is first and foremost on the minds of many Americans this weekend..

My gut feeling is that Calvin Borel and Todd Pletcher are not thinking about the problem. The owners of Winstar farms might be because most likely they have some groomers who might be included in the 12 million illegal immigrants who reside in America.

If you don't know who Calvin Borel is....than I'm sure the name Super Saver also means very little.

Do you personally know a horse?

Yeah......me neither.

But I've had historical moments in my life that include equine memories and I will always cherish them...so therefore I always pay attention to the running of the Kentucky Derby.

While millions of people were watching and wagering on the Derby, thousands were walking the streets to protest the recent immigration law in Arizona.

Looking at footage of the marching protestors I could only think how convenient it would be.... for the INS to have rounded up potential violators of the United States Immigration laws.

12 million!

And the solution to the problem is???????????????????

I think the violence being displayed by the Mexican Drug Cartels in Mexico
is
ABOMINABLE

I THINK VIOLENCE BEING DISPLAYED BY GANG MEMBERS IN AMERICA
IS
ABOMINABLE

IF THOSE TWO VECTORS INTERSECTED IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD
WHAT WOULD YOUR POSITION BE
ON
THIS
ISSUE?

We expect law enforcement to protect us against assholes and then we basically tell them they can't do anything until AFTER something bad happens.

No one is saying that illegal immigrants are assholes...but the ones that are assholes can easily see the opportunities that exist in the United States.

SOMEHOW THE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ASSHOLES TO SUCCEED IN AMERICA
MUST
BE
REDUCED.

I'm open to suggestions......
.what's your plan?

ARIZONA SEEMS TO BE TRYING SOMETHING....and maybe it's not the best answer but it's something.

Maybe we should check with Calvin Borel and see what he thinks.....after all, he does have a
SUPER SAVER.
