It's about time

My friend Tom called me at a rather late hour last night and it sounded like he might have had a beer or two or ten...he called to toast the passing of a "great" poet....Seamus Heaney.  I could tell by his voice inflections that Seamus Heaney was a person of talent, notoriety and respect and yet I, in my little tiny cubicle world, did not know who he was.  I knew when Tom was speaking that I should have known who Seamus Heaney was....but I didn't. Since I had been woken up by the call I wasn't fully focused when I heard the name so I think I simply said...."that's too bad."

My friend Tom has introduced me to many bits and pieces of information over the 52 years of our friendship but I do not recall him ever mentioning Seamus Heaney before last night's phone call.

Tom is a prolific writer and poet in his own right and yet shares his work with very few people.  He works completely in longhand and while he does own a laptop he only uses it on very rare occasions to  research information when that information is not readily available in a book or a periodical.

He likes holding the written word as it appears on a piece of paper.

He doesn't read my blog because it's transmitted electronically and electronic transmissions are attached to a segment of our current environment that he chooses not to experience.

He did get a cell phone a few years ago but I can promise you that the ringer is off and maybe three or four people actually have the number....which wouldn't matter anyway because he doesn't answer it.

Being one, if not the most, politically astute person I actually know, it always baffles me how Thomas Joesph Sullivan stays so current.

Not only does he stay current but he actually knows so much more than I do about physical reality (especially political reality) that when he mentioned the passing of Seamus Heaney I immediately knew that I was suppose to know who Seamus Heaney was.

JUST EXACTLY LIKE YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO KNOW WHO SEAMUS HEANEY  IS...BUT YOU DON'T.....DO YOU?

JUST LIKE YOU DON'T KNOW WHO THOMAS JOESPH SULLIVAN IS.

For those of you who actually know Tom you are probably thinking that it's about time someone blew his horn and for those of you who knew who Seamus Heaney was I simply say....."thanks for keeping it a secret.....you did a good job."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seamus_Heaney

http://search.yahoo.com/search?cs=bz&p=Seamus%20Heaney&fr=fp-tts-900&fr2=ps&woeid=2442047

It's harder to blow Tom's horn because he refuses to publish.

In 1993 Seamus Heaney won the Nobel Prize for Literature.

In 1966 Thomas Joesph Sullivan intercepted two passes in one game as a defensive back for Santa Monica Community College.

Two years ago Thomas Joesph Sullivan intercepted prostate cancer after being told there was nothing they could do for him.

He never shared the battle with his family.  His privacy is one of the basic cornerstones of his existence.

Last night he called and introduced me to Seamus Heaney even though I'm pretty sure he thought I knew who he was...but then again El Tigre might have known that it was time for me to learn one more thing I didn't know.

I feel very certain that not only should we both know who Seamus Heaney is but if you ever get a chance to read, meet or talk to Thomas Joesph Sullivan you would wonder why he hadn't been part of your life before now.

Seamus Heaney and Thomas Joesph Sullivan.....
two world class Irish literary blokes
with passion, knowledge and blarney jokes
so much brain power so much control
some parts of their body and all of their soul
one you can read about with a touch of a key
and the other you can hear about only through me
A famous poet has passed and the moment is calm
but I feel better because I introduced you
to
Tom

I know it's a little bit late

BUT........you know the old saying........

it's better late than............

1) clever 2) feather 3) never

I'm going to be reading and listening to Mr. Heaney today.....maybe even visit his Facebook page.

One of my immediate goals is to build a Facebook page for Tom
and start posting some of his work.

You truly have no idea how hard he will fight this idea.........

But I'm pretty sure he will thank me later

or not.

Rare and delightful

The chance to watch something develop in the world of show business is usually only reserved for those who either are creating the project or those working closely with the creator.

For the next three nights at the Pasadena Playhouse a rare and delightful opportunity is available to anyone who appreciates how intricate the process of creating a unique project can be.

I think Val Kilmer has created CITIZEN TWAIN in the hopes of not only showing us a slightly different side of Mark Twain but also a different side of Val Kilmer. But then again that could just be my left side brain working overtime.

You can go on his website www.ValKilmer.com and order tickets.  Hopefully the remaining shows are not sold out.  This is a rare and delightful opportunity to watch one of America's premiere actors unfold a project as he unfolds it himself.

From the very beginning of the evening everything about the show was unique.

My daughter treated me to a night at the theater and I promise you neither of us had any idea how fulfilling the evening would be.

It started on a down note in that I brought along my 4th of July project journal book ( a project that I can't talk about because it involves a question that I ask and then record....and if I told  you about it the surprise would be ruined)  with the outside chance that Mr. Kilmer might answer my special question. I printed the theater tickets and the directions and placed them in the 8 x 11 inch journal and then preceded to place the book on top of the car while I opened the door, and then being the complete idiot that I am.....drove away.

As we turned right on San Vicente off of 11th street in Santa Monica I started telling Lily about a time I went to Dodger Stadium about 20 years ago, with a friend of mine named John Roberts ( not Jon) who, as we pulled in to parking lot, discovered that he left the tickets at home..The second I finished telling her the story....LIGHTS FLASHED INSIDE MY HEAD and I pulled over to he side of the road somewhere between 16th and 21st.  Lily said "what are you doing Dad?"  I looked at her and said, "I think I put my book, with the tickets and the directions,on top of the car!"  We got out  and looked around and then did a double check inside the car and decided that while I was a complete goof ball, maybe we should go back to the house and reprint the tickets.....which we did and we retraced our route with no luck.  As we left the house, for the second time, Lily thought maybe we had gone north on 10th street instead of 11th.  As we turned right on San Vicente again,  we spotted a few sheets of white paper on the ground.  What we found were the two electronically printed tickets and the directions......no book.  Hopefully someone will note the e-mail addresses in the book and return it....but I've already planned my second edition so the old adage...."if you love them let them go; if   it's meant to be they will return."   Please keep in mind....great books and people have much in common.

It's been awhile since Lily and had gone out on a special evening and I was completely flustered that I was responsible for making the evening start so erratically....but she remained calm and the 5:30 rush hour traffic in Los Angeles County diverted our frustration in another direction.  The amount of road work being done on the 405 freeway between Wilshire and Mullholland Dr. boggles the mind.

We finally arrived at the theater around 7:20 with showtime being 8.  The Pasadena Playhouse is quite retro and very lovely.  People can mingle outside with  a bar on one side and a gallery on the other side of the patio.  Our plans of getting there early and having a bite to eat were scuttled and we had to settle for a few bags of pretzels and some white wine that was available at a make shift bar in the middle of the patio.  As I took a sip of my wine I heard Lily say...."excuse me" to someone on her left.  Apparently a man had bumped into her and as I turned I realized that quite a few people were staring at the man who happened to be dressed in a white suit and had Einstein looking hair.

Mark Twain had entered  the patio and playfully bummed into Lily and then apologised (I think) and started moving through the crowd.  He did about ten minutes of meets and greets and displayed a true southern gentleman's persona with a drink in one hand and a cigar in the other.

My first thought was how brilliant it was to engage with the audience and then realized that this could only happen in certain types of arenas and with certain types of performances.  Mark Twain mingling was true genius and I fully appreciated the effect it had on Lily. Ok....I was a bit starstruck myself but more for the packaged concept than the actual player.

I love it when extra details are included that go over and above what we expect from our entertainers.

After charmingly floating through  the crowd Mr. Twain simply said...."I think it's time we went inside"...or something like that........and he Pied Pipered us into the theater...where we were about to witness  a  magical two hours.

On the guise that you might decide to go see the show I think I've already said too much but perhaps what I've chosen to disclose will push you to exercise your fingers and purchase a few tickets.

I promise you it will be an evening to remember.

As a LSJ (large screen junkie) I admit to being a Val Kilmer fan and was able to relay my BRAVO story to him at the meet and greet which followed the show. The BRAVO story  centers on  the last film that Sean and I saw together in December of 1993.

He and I and one of his friends....I think it was Cort......went to the sold out movie on the night it opened in Santa Monica.

As  Doc Holliday (Val) passed away at the end of TOMBSTONE a man stood up in the middle of the theater and yelled....."BRAVO, BRAVO" clapped and then sat down as Kurt Russell went off looking for Dana Dalany in San Francisco.  Sean said afterward that he had never seen that before.  He was 15 at the time and I told him I had never even heard of something like that happening....and to this day I've yet to encounter anyone standing up and applauding an actor in a movie...during the movie.  I've heard applause for a actor as the credits scroll but never while the film is still rolling.

Mr. Kilmer's face brightened up  and he generally seemed pleased by the story.  Then I proceeded to explain that my son passed away in February of 1994 and that Tombstone might have been the last movie he saw in a theater.  Val's disposition somewhat changed and Lily and I both noticed it....it was slight but something hit and hit hard and when we got home and Googled him and discovered that in 1977 he had lost a 15 year old brother...... we both understood.

Before we left him I explained very quickly about losing my journal on the way and that I had a special question to ask him.  He put on his glasses and I asked the question and his answer was...."well you've asked the question."  I looked at him and said...."and you aren't   going to answer it, are you?"  "No, I'm not," he said.  We thanked him for the performance, had a picture taken and then say goodbye and proceeded to get completely twisted around freeway detours trying to leave Pasadena.

As we were driving home Lily wondered why he didn't answer the question and I simply said he's not the first and he won't be the last.

If you are  curious about the question you'll have to wait until I ask you, but for now this story is supposed to focus on Val Kilmer's wonderful production of CITIZEN TWAIN  at the Pasadena Playhouse running through August 30th.

Besides, don't you hate it  when one artist tries to divert the attention from another artist when the other artist is actually performing.

I apologise Mr. Kilmer for asking a question that you would be more than happy to answer if we were friends....I think.

Your entire body of work during the evening just made it seem like we were all friends and that's an aspect of  entertainment that I haven't seen since Steve Martin did stand up at the Boarding House in 1973.  White suit and white hair.....hummmm.  Was Steve paying homage to Mark?

CITIZEN TWAIN IS A TRIP.....BECAUSE VAL KILMER
IS     A     MULTI-TALENTED    ARTIST.
and  that  should be reason enough to check out his show.

Logic and the movies and of course WHATEVER

The concept of logical form is central to logic, it being held that the validity of an argument is determined by its logical form, not by its content. Traditional Aristotelian syllogistic logic and modern symbolic logic are examples of formal logics.
  • Informal logic is the study of natural language arguments. The study of fallacies is an especially important branch of informal logic. The dialogues of Plato[6] are good examples of informal logic.
  • Formal logic is the study of inference with purely formal content. An inference possesses a purely formal content if it can be expressed as a particular application of a wholly abstract rule, that is, a rule that is not about any particular thing or property. The works of Aristotle contain the earliest known formal study of logic. Modern formal logic follows and expands on Aristotle.[7] In many definitions of logic, logical inference and inference with purely formal content are the same. This does not render the notion of informal logic vacuous, because no formal logic captures all of the nuance of natural language.
  • Symbolic logic is the study of symbolic abstractions that capture the formal features of logical inference.[8][9] Symbolic logic is often divided into two branches: propositional logic and predicate logic.
  • Mathematical logic is an extension of symbolic logic into other areas, in particular to the study of model theory, proof theory, set theory, and recursion theory.
The above is from our favorite information site....Wikipedia.

The secret to learning is that one must want to learn.  And being smart means nothing if you keep doing dumb things.  Obviously in my particular situation I have mental incompetence when it comes to the subject of finances.  I firmly believe that my artwork and my writing will provide me with the paths that lead to financial security but since I am in my middle 60's and it hasn't happened yet.....there has to be a sense of logic that enters the picture.  Or should enter the picture might be a better choice of explaining what I actually mean.  I regard myself as a dedicated artist and at no time in the near future will I stop considering myself in those terms.

And thus enters the concept of logic.

Please go back and read the Formal Logic part of the above definitions.

The simple fact that Aristotle and Plato are involved in the origins of Informal and Formal Logic and that Formal Logic is fundamentally intrinsic to the Programming of computers just simply blows my fucking little tiny brain all over the fucking face of Mt. Rushmore.

The fact that Tim Beners-Lee invented the World Wide Web on a NeXT computer at CERN really flips me out.

I went to see the "JOBS" movie yesterday and it got me asking some fundamental questions and the first one is......WHY ISN'T ANYBODY GOING TO SEE THIS MOVIE?  It can't be Ashton Kutcher's fault....can it?  From an historical point of view, regarding the development of personal computers, IT'S A MUST SEE.  I really lost track of who was acting the parts because the story is so damn interesting and so important.

ANY YOUNG PERSON THINKING ABOUT BUILDING ANYTHING NEW SHOULD RUN TO THIS FILM. Any older person who doesn't know how the personal computer world exploded since 1980 should run to this film.

People that are older who say they can't operate a computer are suck in an illogical state of mind.

LOGICAL THINKING, WHETHER IT BE FORMAL OR INFORMAL IS ALREADY PART OF THEIR HUMAN THOUGHT PROCESS.

THE SECRET TO LEARNING IS ONE MUST WANT TO LEARN

I understand that Aaron Sorkin is writing a movie about Steve but it's a very narrow storyline and the JOBS movie playing right now, with no one in the audience, is a history lesson. Two and 1/2 hours is a pretty short history lesson when it comes to the world of personal computers and hand held entertainment objects, but the fact that APPLE is the core story makes it important.

Jonathan Ivie might be the most unheralded designer in the history of design.  I realize people in the business of design know who he is but the average Jane and Joe has no idea what he has done to improve the basic way things look.

Jonathan Ivie's concept of beauty is simple and clean and it flows.

I didn't know who he was until yesterday but I'm going out on a limb here by saying the following illogical statement.

Jonathan Ivie would like some of my artwork.

I'm choosing to ignore logic while making that statement but I'm sticking to the part of my brain that houses  intuitive  thinking and deep hallucinations.

Two years ago today Steve Jobs resigned as CEO of Apple.

Six weeks later he resigned from PR and returned to NPR

Logic dictates that anyone interested in the history of certain aspects of the technological revolution that has taken place in our lifetime.....should go see this movie.

But then again when I look around the planet I see that LOGIC is not a priority among a vast number of human beings.

Fortunately Aristotle and Plato are still playing at the library of your choice.

And JOBS is still playing at your local theater.

By the way......I'M A
RBSJ

REALLY BIG SCREEN JUNKIE....but you probably already knew that.

Is it logical to spend 7 dollars on a movie when one only has 10 left?

Does anybody have Aristotle's cell phone number?

94 with almost 1 and a half being NPR

Today, 94 years ago in St. Louis Missouri, William Anthony McAlevey entered PR (physical reality) and on Jan 18, 2012 he re-entered NPR ( non-physical reality.  Normally I would just rattle on about how much he is missed and yada yada yada  BUT last night I listened to a young woman talk about certain aspects of the Bible and I think I finally understand why Biblical Scholars have that title.

BS

When I woke up this morning I fully understood one thing with absolutely certainty...

I AM A MODERN 2013 VERY PRESENT IN THE NOW
LOVER
OF
THE CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE
better know to many of you as
GOD

I sincerely believe that both the Hebrew Bible and the Christian Bible COMPLETELY UNDERESTIMATE AN ENTITY THAT CREATED A UNIVERSE WITH BILLIONS AND BILLIONS OF GALAXIES THAT EACH CONTAIN BILLIONS AND BILLIONS OF STARS WHILE AT THE SAME TIME CREATING CREATURES THAT CAN LOVE

MY BELIEF SYSTEM DEMANDS THAT I PERSONALLY MUST LEARN WHAT MY RELATIONSHIP IS WITH THAT ENTITY AND THAT ANY PREVIOUS OPINION BY ANOTHER HUMAN BEING WAS  HIS OR HER EXPERIENCE.....and just because certain religions have been able to organize and record their personal interpretations of those experiences does not mean that I am suppose to stop in my personal quest.

Human beings like to join organizations and they like to tell stories....and you know it as well as I do.

I just like searching for new answers and telling new stories...and I'm fairly confident that the Creator of the Universe appreciates all new attempts at understanding  the glory and beauty of what it means to be GOD.

IT'S NOT OUR JOB TO UNDERSTAND GOD....IT'S OUR JOB TO LOVE GOD and then when we go from PR to NPR everything is probably going to be made perfectly clear.....I think.

One common thread that all great, supposedly, HOLY books have is that they divide people.

I personally believe that GOD loves it when human beings search on their own, and don't judge or divide..................but I can only go on how it feels............ IT'S A VIBRATION THING.
And when information is passed into that individual quest that increases the vibratory clarity of both calmness and awareness.....I believe that's the reception of God's love.

When someone can start justifying polygamy and slavery because of things written 3000 years ago in the Hebrew Bible I say.......ouch!

NOT CONFIDENT THAT THE CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE WANTS SLAVERY JUSTIFIED ON ANY LEVEL.
POLYGAMY IS STRICTLY A CONCEPT DEVELOPED BY EGO-MANIACAL MEN WHO TRULY HAD NO RESPECT FOR THE FEMALE MEMBERS OF THE HUMAN RACE.....

CAN YOU SEE WHY I LIKE NEW STORIES ABOUT THE CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE?

THE MYSTERIES OF THE UNIVERSE FAR OUT NUMBER THE KNOWN REALITIES

And our job is to search for those mysteries and I'm pretty sure they aren't contained in some of the earliest story telling moments of our human experience.

NEW INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE IF YOU JUST ASK

AND NEW STORIES ARE BEING WRITTEN EVERYDAY BY PEOPLE WHO ARE ASKING AND RECEIVING.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD and thanks for helping to make me a person who thinks for himself.

Force Feed or ???????? And MMGC project revisted.

There is currently a hunger strike taking place within the prison system of California.

There are four major factions involved in this protest.

1) The Aryan Brotherhood
2) The Mexican Mafia
3) Nuestra Familia
4) The Black Guerrilla Family

Apparently the guests leading the hunger strike are following orders that are coming from the leaders of each of these groups......both inside the prisons and outside.  Outside is where the rest of us live and eat and sleep and poop.  I brought up the pooping thing because I've never been able to understand how that act actually works within a prison system.  Just the thought of group pooping makes me slightly ill and of course I'm sorry to have brought it up but I wanted you to see the benefits of a hunger strike.  No food means no poop....and in that regard I salute hunger strikes everywhere that groups of people gather against their wishes.

By all accounts there are a few hundred inmates involved in the strike and from what I've been able to determine their main complaint is that certain prisoners are not allowed to mingle in the general population....better known as the prison yard.  They are confined to units called SHU's which stands for Security Housing Units.  In each of these units is a radio and a color TV.  SHU confined inmates receive the same food as the general population. They are allowed visitors every weekend just like the regular guests and they have weekly access to the library and daily exercise time.

Actually......this sounds a lot like my dwelling.....except I try to get to the library at least twice a week.

Each inmate has either a cat or a dog.

NOW that's just ridiculous and you know it's not true....but I am wondering why they get TV's....and of course the questions remains......do they have remote controls?

Next I'm going read where they each get an I PAD donated by the estate of Steve Jobs.

Let's get back to the fellows housed in these special units.  Imagine a member of the Aryan Brotherhood being confined to his own small quarters.   Now pause for a sec and think what he might have done to enter the prison and then pause one more sec and think what he might have done inside the prison to warrant such special treatment.

I'm pretty sure that I can conclude one fact......THESE GUYS ARE SERIOUS DICKHEADS.

I don't think a guy who wrote some bad checks at Wal-Mart gets to spend time in a SHU.

On Thursday August 8 there will be a court hearing to determine whether these SHU inmates can file a class action suit against the state of California Correctional System.

Todd Ashker, a leader of the hunger strike, who has been in a SHU for 24 years, has issued the following statement......
"There's a core group of us who are committed to taking this all the way to the death, if necessary," Ashker said in a video posted by the Prisoner Hunger Strike Solidarity Coalition. "None of us want to do this, but we feel like we have no other option."

Mr. Ashker, 50, who earned a paralegal degree while in prison, has been one of the most vocal inmates in the fight against the state's security housing units (SHUs), where more than 3,000 California inmates are housed, according to the Prison Hunger Strike Solidarity Coalition, a group of grassroots organizations and community activists dedicated to making sure inmates' voices are heard during the protest.

I guess I see an answer here.  I'm not an advocate of capital punishment but I am an advocate of allowing individuals to make their own decisions.

If Mr. Ashker, a convicted murderer, chooses to refuse food then so be it.  It looks like a double win win situation.  He goes and we lose a convicted murderer and a paralegal.  (That's wasn't nice)

Of course if the penal system would adopt my 25 year old idea then we wouldn't be facing this type of situation.

IDEA.....take every convict who is in prison for physically harming another person or using a weapon during a crime and have them work on the MMGC in the state of North Dakota

MMGC......Man Made Grand Canyon
Simply use bulldozers to crave out the first hundred feet of the 25 mile stretch of land in the middle of absolutely freakin nowhere in South Dakota and then issue every violent offender a shovel and a back pack with a small tent and a sleeping bag....and tell them to start digging. Each prisoner would have a small implanted locating device.
Each week there would be a supply and mail drop every mile. Supplies would include packs of food like the Astronauts use, paper cups and bathroom supplies.  Water would be supplied by various apparatus so that drinking water and showers would be available.

Medical attention is one of the things you forfeit when you physically harm another human being.

Guard stations would be approximately every 500 yards. on either side of the MMGC being dug.

It's one of the projects that 2500 years from now people would say.....how the hell did they do that?

BECAUSE I CAN GUARANTEE ONE ONE THING......WITHIN A FEW HUNDRED YEARS THERE WOULD BE VERY FEW PEOPLE LEFT IN THE MMGC.

Imagine a guy in East LA walks into a liquor store with a gun and the owner simply says...."hey dude do you really want to get put into the MMGC project?"  Just a small reminder will probably end that robbery attempt.  Anybody who'd rather rob then have a job sure doesn't want to being digging a hole every single day of his or her life.  I do understand that there would have to be gender separation in the MMGC project but details can be worked out later.

Now I realize that some people are in prison because they got wrongly convicted (facts state that it's a very small percentage) but with DNA testing I'm pretty certain that the mistake ratio will drop dramatically over the next 25 years.

BACK TO REALITY and the truth of the matter..............

The hunger strike in our prison system doesn't seem to concern very many people on the outside.

The fact that they get color TVs with ESPN really bothers me.  My last remaining uncle is in an up scale assisted living complex outside of St. Louis and they don't get ESPN.

I think we should put every prisoner on Del Taco morning noon and night and see how long they last.

I'm also a bit concerned that the Muslim groups aren't involved in the hunger strike

I just finished a novel where the basic premise is......Islamic radicals were breaking the law in America so that they could get sent to prison in order to convert the convicts to their core belief system......that basically says to kill all the infidels living in the United States.

I think that includes you and me.

I think this is one hunger strike that Johnny Cash would simply say......"let it happin Captain."

Meanwhile back on the farm.....what's for supper?

Juice reckoning day

Today MLB is going to announce some hard sanctions on some big name baseball players.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.....

FORM A STEROID ONLY LEAGUE.  So what if there's only four teams. If an adult male (or female) wants to inject themselves with a performance enhancing drug then they should only be able to complete against others with the same desire.

The problem is that currently they are competing against adult humans who don't use.

IF THEY LEGALIZED STEROIDS FOR ATHLETICS......HOW MANY PLAYERS DO YOU THINK WOULD USE?

MY GUESS IS 90 PERCENT....but that's just me.

Realistically it would probably be 100 percent.....BUT I have to assume that 10 percent just wouldn't inject anything.  If it was available in pill form than 100 percent is probably more accurate.

I'd be very interested in seeing how far someone could hit a baseball batting against a jacked up pitcher throwing 105 MPH.

I've always thought there should be a seperate Olympics for juicers.

IF SOMEONE WANTS TO INJECT SOMETHING THAT MIGHT MAKE HIM RUN A 7 FLAT 100 METER SPRINT.....THEN I'M GOING TO WATCH IT.

IT'S JUST NOT FAIR WHEN JUICERS COMPLETE AGAINST NON-JUICERS.

SO MAKE SPERATE COMPETITIONS.........

I'm really surprised that McMahon from wrestling fame hasn't thought about this yet.
If wrestling dude and The Donald got involved with some crazy new Russian Billionaire then I'm sure it could become a reality.

THINK OF THE NUMBERS IN THE OLYMPICS?
THINK OF THE RUNNING YARDAGE IN THE NFL?
THINK OF THE SERVES IN TENNIS?
THINK HOW MUCH FASTER YOU COULD TEXT?
THINK HOW MUCH HIGHER THE BASKETBALL PLAYERS COULD JUMP?
THINK HOW MUCH SHORTER LIFE MIGHT BE?

I ONLY KNOW THAT LANCE ARMSTRONG DEFEATED CANCER IN 7 PARTS OF HIS BODY AND WON 7 TOUR DE FRANCE RACES.

IF AN ADULT ATHLETE WANTS TO USE SOMETHING TO ENHANCE THEIR PERFORMANCE THEN SO BE IT.

BUT THEY MUST COMPETE WITH OTHER ADULTS WHO HAVE MADE THE SAME CHOICE.

NEW LEAGUES.......

NJL  National Juice League
MJB  Major Juice Baseball
NHJ   National Hockey Juicers

ETC.....ETC.....ETC.

And then to top the whole idea off......NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX and ESPEN could form a joint venture and make a PAY FOR VIEW only NETWORK

UJN

Universal JUICE Network

I think I'd want to be involved with the magazine that covers the juice news......

JUICETIME.....a weekly mag that we start operating in Detroit just to help get that city back on it's feet.

Detroit could be the JUICE captial of the world.

TIME FOR POT SALES TO BECOME TAXABLE

http://legalizationofmarijuana.com/

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marijuana_law

http://norml.org/

http://economics.about.com/od/incometaxestaxcuts/a/marijuana.htm

THE ABOVE SITES HAVE AS MUCH INFORMATION AS ONE CAN POSSIBLY NEED TO REALIZE THAT NOT ONLY WILL LEGALIZING POT HELP TO CURTAIL THE DRUG CARTELS FROM MEXICO AND SOUTH AMERICA....BUT IT WILL ADD CONSIDERABLE REVENUE TO THE PLUS SIDE OF OUR FEDERAL LEDGER.

ANNUAL DEATHS FROM POT VS ANNUAL DEATHS FROM OTHER DRUGS ....SHOULD BE THE FACT THAT PUSHES THOSE OF YOU WHO MIGHT BE ON THE FENCE......OVER THE FENCE AND INTO THE PLAYGROUND

And I can guarantee you that the majority of PEOPLE who are fighting the hardest to prevent marijuana from becoming legal....sit down a few times a week (and probably more) and pop the cork or flip the tab or twist the cap
ON THE MOST DANGEROUS DRUG IN THE WORLD

ALCOHOL

WHO'S DRIVING YOU HOME?
THE GUY WHO SMOKED TWO JOINTS OR THE GUY WHO HAD TEN BEERS?

THE SO CALLED COMPLEXITY OF THIS ISSUE IS REALLY QUITE  SIMPLE.......

THE MANUFACTURES OF ALCOHOL DO NOT WANT TO HAVE ANOTHER PLAYER ON THE SCENE......ESPECIALLY A PLAYER LIKE POT, THAT CAN BE GROWN ON YOUR BACK PORCH.

THE ECONOMICS OF THE SITUATION DICTATE THAT FIGHTING A  WAR WITH MEXICO AND SOUTH AMERICAN DRUG CARTELS CAN BE GREATLY REDUCED IF CANNABIS IS LEGALIZED.

And for those of you who say  "how do you tax something that can be grown on your back porch.".....please keep in mind that tomatoes can be grown on your back porch but going to the supermarket is a whole lot easier.

Speciality stores that grow different types of weed at different dollar values will have no trouble staying in business.

and please note one very important item.......

I RARELY SMOKE POT.......AND WHEN I DID SMOKE I ALWAYS PUSHED THE CONCEPT OF JUST TAKING ONE HIT AND LETTING THE THC DO ITS INTENDED TRICK.

I'm not the consumer target for the legalization of pot......and I know quite a few people who shouldn't smoke it under any circumstances.......just like I know a lot of people who shouldn't be having a single drop of alcohol.....BUT

I think it comes down to moral issue........

PEOPLE WANT TO ALTER THEIR CONSCIOUSNESS FROM TIME TO TIME AND IF MODERATION AND COMMON SENSE ARE INVOLVED.....THEN THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO USE ANY RECREATIONAL TOOL THEY WANT FOR THAT ALTERATION.

USING A CONSCIOUSNESS CHANGING TOOL LIKE HEROIN AND COCAINE, THAT ARE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, IS NOT A GOOD SIGN OF HAVING COMMON SENSE

POTENTIAL ABUSE is a problem whenever someone steps out of their natural mental environment with the aid of an external ingredient.

The fact that nobody dies from abusing pot makes this entire debate non-sensical.

POT HAS BEEN PLACED IN THE WRONG CATEGORY WHEN IT COMES TO GOVERNMENTAL CONTROL AND EACH OF US NEEDS TO LET OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS KNOW THAT IT'S TIME TO CHANGE THE LAWS REGARDING THE USE AND THE CULTIVATION OF CANNABIS.

AND IT NEEDS TO BE DONE

NOW!
