Last few Olympic thoughts

On the Friday night before closing weekend Tom Brokaw did a one hour feature segment, as part of the Olympic coverage, called "OUR FINEST HOURS."

In my humble opinion it was the best ONE HOUR explanationsof how, why and when the United States decided to help Great Britain in their battle against fuckhead Hitler.  The Churchill/Roosevelt interplay was concise and poignant and while I've read and seen hundreds of hours on the subject, this was the best limited interpretation I've ever witnessed.

I was reminded quite deeply on how intertwined our two countries have been......and will continue to be..... as long as liberty and individual freedoms are treasured.

The royalty thing is bit over the top but that's another story.

Monday morning after the Olympics I was listened to Dan Patrick and he had Mr. Brokaw on as a guest.
It turns out the reason Tom was in London, working for NBC as a feature commentator, was in case a terrorists attack occurred he would be there to cover it.  They had a separate studio all set up and ready to go if something happened.

It's so nice to think that no one was needed for that type of story.

The Olympics and the Olympics alone stole the show and sometimes things do work out exactly as they were intended.

Thank God
