Baseball and a lifetime memory

Dear Sean,
     I'm pretty sure we attended Dodger games after the opening day of the 1988 World Series but for obvious reasons that game will always have a unique place in my memory bank and of course....my heart.

 

    You had just completed your first year in the Majors of Santa Monica Little League and as a 10 year old you held your own and displayed your talents against 11 and 12 year olds.  The Dodgers had returned to the World Series for the first time since winning the whole thing in 1981. We were very fortunate to be given two seats in the last row of the right field pavilion.  It would turn out that the right field pavilion would be immortalized every time video's would replay the infamous Kirk Gibson home run.  I've watched the replay at least a few hundred times since 1988 and every time I know that you and I are jumping up and down and high-fiving each other and everyone around us.  It was an epic moment for baseball and continues to be regarded as one of the greatest moments in World Series history.  Of course it becomes a moment in our history that will never be extinguished....along with every moment we shared in the 15 years 10 months and 3 days of your physical reality.

You wrote a paper for your English class as a freshman at Loyola entitled "It's never over until the 54th out" and I didn't actually discover the paper until sometime later in the summer of 1994.....which turns out to be the year that no World Series was played because of a contract squabble between owners and players.  The fact that the baseball season was shortened and no World Series played made perfect sense to me after what had happened on February 3rd 1994.   To be honest I hadn't even followed baseball that year for the first time since I was 12 years old.   Life was testing me in areas that had very little to do with sociological distractions, such as sports and politics.

I was very busy learning about non-physical reality and trying to understand why the Universe had decided to attack the very core of my existence. 

I've created many various artistic and literary answers, whether or not they are valid is entirely up to the audience, and I am somewhat content to report that many of those answers make sense and allow me to continue believing in a Universe that is dominated by love and particle expansion while at the same time displaying an abundant amount of chaos and decay.

But for this letter I want to remember the shirt incident as we arrived for the first game of the 1988 World Series.  (If you save the picture and then zoom in you can read what Sean's shirt says. Sean is the only one standing in the above picture)

As we drove up the road to go into the stadium there was a guy hawking tye-dyed tee-shirts that said....Fuck Oakland on the front.  The price $10. We went into the parking lot and as we got out of the car you said, "Dad, I really want one of those shirts."  My answer was, "I'm not about to drive all way back there" and you said, "give me the 10 and I'll run and be back in a flash."  Since you were an extremely fast young man it seems like you did it in record time.  I don't remember waiting very long for you to return. You waited until we got to our seats before you put the shirt on and to this day I'm not sure if you wore it throughout the entire game or not.  All I know is the Dodgers fucked Oakland big time in that game and throughout the series that only lasted five games.

Coaching you and watching you play baseball over the next five years is easily one of the great memories of my life.  It's a memory that is only tarnished by the fact that we can't physically chat about not only those moments but all the other moments we shared as Father and Son.

Watching you develop your baseball IQ was really enjoyable for me and to be honest I was usually coaching the team but you as an individual were the glue that held the team together.  

I realize how talented you were as an artist and as a writer but I always understood that those two things would simply improve as you got older.  I didn't know how far you could go in the baseball world because no one can predict the outcome of a 12, 13, 14 or 15 year old baseball player unless they have names like Bryce Harper and Clayton Kershaw. Most of the 750 players in the major leagues 

get there through extreme hard work and predicting how much work an 18 year old wants to spend to improving their baseball skills is almost impossible.

But you were a natural and your motion was always correct and you never really tried that hard because the talent was just there.  I think you were starting to realize what it might take but of course the Universe had another plan.

And since the mysteries of the Universe will always far out number the known realities I'm not unsure that you aren't appearing in this World Series as some explosive 23 year old stud.

It would make sense on so many levels....and I defy anyone to prove that reincarnation isn't a reality.

My awareness of physical reality and my belief in non-physical reality allow me to view the first Dodger World Series experience in 29 years in a 

new

and

exciting

way

and every baseball game I've watched since your first year in T-Ball at the age of six has included thoughts of you

There is a RUMOR that The Trump administration has hinted at changing the classification of waste water at the Hanford site in Washington....from high-level radioactive to low-level.

THE REASON FOR THIS WOULD BE 
TO CUT COSTS.

LOWER CLASSIFICATION MEANS LOWER STANDARDS AND THEREFORE NOT AS MUCH MONEY NEEDS TO BE SPENT ON THE CLEAN-UP.

Let's just look at some of those numbers.

THEY have already spent $48 BILLION.

The only point I am making here is that when someone tells you Nuclear Energy 
is the cleanest and cheapest form of ENERGY,,,,,,,,,JUST ASK THEM IF THEY INCLUDED ALL COST in determining the price.

California keeps fighting The Liar

When President "Biff" or President "Twit" signed the order to ease Chlorpyrifos regulations in 2017 it was one of his first attacks on environmental issues.  The photo above is with former Dow Chemical CEO Andrew Liveris.

California has fought the Trump administration on health care, climate issues, auto emissions and now pesticides.

The fact that a debate continues regarding the harm of any pesticide makes no sense.

The real problem seems to be a consensus from the current administration regarding anything that involves
SCIENCE.....

AND THAT SCARES THE F**K out of me.......of course those who know me well realize I have very little f**k in me so it's probably not a really big deal for me to be scared in this area.

I've chosen the monk life for quite awhile now and it seems to suit me artistically but of course I'm still looking to fall in love again but I've gone beyond being picky and have entered into the realm of "who are you kidding dude?"   I'm still waiting for Reese to break up with her current husband.  There are a few others on the list but why exaggerate the fantasy issue any further.   Fantasy is fantasy and stories always seem to evolve from that domain.

Speaking of stories....yesterday I slipped an old cassette into my car system (yeah it's an older ride) and discovered a verbal rendition of a script that I started in 1995.   I'm pretty sure it's a love story because it begins with a break up in a restaurant. It might be a murder mystery but I doubt it.  I'll go ride in my car a little bit this afternoon and hear more of the story but the weird part is I DON'T REMEMBER DOING IT.

Now that might seem of little importance to you but it's a wow in my world because whenever I verbally created a story I would always sit down and transcribe it to paper........and I have four finished scripts to verify that reality.

There was also a song I created right before the story started.  I actually sang the first stanza about 15 times while tweaking the words and the pauses and the genre.  It goes from soft rock to country and on to a blues riff before returning to soft rock.

I'd like to share the song with you but creating an MP3 version with my equipment just ain't going to happen.  I might be able to record on my cell phone.....oh wait, I don't have a cell phone.

Just stop on digest that one for a sec.  Two years ago I put it in a drawer and two years later i'm still cell phone free.

My daughter's cell phone addiction makes up for my lack of involvement in that arena of communication.

There will be CELLPHONE Anonymous meetings soon.....I GUARANTEE IT.

THE PROBLEM IS MULTI-DIMENSIONAL.

People walking and texting without regard for traffic.
People walking and viewing their phone while ignoring their children.
People using their cell phones to communicate with others while actual people are present.

.....just like the list of "President Twit" attempting to reverse any clean air or clean water act put into work since 1972.

This might be a simple explanation why we have 40 million people living here....and why someone like Donald J. Trump could never ever remotely think about winning any type of election in California.

My first suggestion would be to have side by side screens watching CNN and FOX at the same time.

Flipping back and forth during and directly after Mr. Mueller's testimony completely clarifies the situation.

ONE side hears one thing.
The OTHER side hears something else.

And depending on who you watch and who you read YOUR MIND IS MADE UP.

TRUMP, and or his people, collaborated with the Russians

The Democrats, and Hillary and or President Obama, completely started conspiring
with the Russians long before Trump.

All the indictments handed down to Trump's people (Cohen, Manafort etc) had noting to do with the original reason for the investigation by the Mueller team.

The Mueller team consisted of all Democrats that wanted to bring Trump to his knees.

Mr. Mueller didn't actually do anything and didn't read his own report.

President Trump was not exonerated by the Mueller report.

The testimony given by Mueller proves that the Democrats have wasted taxpayers money.

Seriously.......the panels on each network had 6 or more people and EVERYBODY saw something different.

I personally saw an older gentleman, who has retired, have to endure a cross examination that simply had one answer.....most of the time.

I felt sorry for the dude and saw very early on that he would much rather be sitting on the beautiful veranda porch at his estate with a Manhattan and a bong....and his Golden Retriever

By the way I picked the report up at the Amazon book store ( which just blows my mind) and looked through it before putting in back on the shelf.

243, Baseball and how it never goes away

Today is America's 243 Birthday and 1976 doesn't seem that long ago but it has been 43 years since we celebrated our bicentennial.
In November of that year we elected Jimmy Carter President.

President Carter's legacy will be formed by what he's done after holding that office for four years.

In 7 years we will celebrate a 250th national birthday and the year will be 2026.

There's no sugar coating it......I will be 80 and the only question I can ask myself is....

                     will I be here to celebrate?

It's not a morbid question due to the fact that once you reach a certain age (I suspect that age is 70) then mortality becomes a reality and them's the facts folks.

I'm looking forward to the 2028 Olympics here in Los Angeles so there's a part of me that has to believe I'll still be slicing the golf ball a few times each round.

I'm also extremely looking forward to the 2024 Presidential election because I know Donald Trump won't be running.

The sad part of that statement is me resolving to a certain reality that I didn't think possible.

In that statement I'm accepting the simple fact that President "Twit" could actually win in 2020.

As I watch the Democrats go about attacking each other and giving the "Twit" more ammunition with which to attack whoever is left......I realize that his ability to degrade other people might be some of the best degrading I've ever witnessed in politics.   

That's a problem when your base likes that style of campaigning.

He might be the biggest asshole who's ever run for President....and we live in a time when assholes seem to be an acceptable part of our national psyche....and they also seem to be rather abundant.

Combine Donald Trump with Mitch McConnell and you might have an adult Chucky.

Baseball came into national prominence this week ( keep in mind that not everybody follows baseball....which I know seems really silly, but it's true) not because of something that happen on the field but because a 27 year athlete mysteriously died in his hotel room.

Tyler Skaggs was a Santa Monica legendary baseball player who was currently employed by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (I think that's the actual name).

The Angels have a history of players passing away in their prime of life.  When I say a history I mean I can't think of another team that has had multiple active players pass away.

I knew another baseball player from Santa Monica......
and just as I wrote those words an earthquake rattled a few things in the house....not sure where it was located but I'm still going to finish my thought.

I knew another baseball player from Santa Monica who passed away in 1994 and altered my life forever.

And yes my friends when you lose a teen-age child the trauma and the drama never actually disappears.....especially if you have other children, or grandchildren.

The trauma and the drama I'm referring to centers around the simple fact that you never ever ever ever stop worrying about something horrible happening again.

I read that 16,000 plus teenagers die every year so it is a pretty small fraternity.  I obviously can't contact 16,000 parents but I'm pretty sure that any of us with other children go through the same trauma and drama episodes.

It never goes away......but let me explain

There seems to be a debate, before the actual debates, about a crime bill championed by Joe Biden in 1994 and whether or not it has been good or bad.

I recall when in 2016 there were 12 GOP candidates in their first debate and the guy with the orange hair was regarded as a publicity stunt.  That guy started calling people names and while most of us giggled and laughed.....62 million saw THEIR HERO.

Therefore it is possible that one of the lesser known names might rise up and have to be counted but it seems that
Biden
Warren
Sanders
have the name recognition factor well in hand.

And after typing that last line I've decided to propose a Presidential ticket of
Joe Biden

Elizabeth Warren and 
Bernie Sanders 
as 
CO-Vice Presidents.....a new CVP position in the government.

Think how much more a VP could get done if there were two of them.

All it takes is a great idea and a slight change to the Constitution.

How hard could that be?

Ok...maybe I'm getting silly but the debates are starting and the excitement is mounting.

 I hope 40 million people tune in and watch...but realistically this is June and the election is 17 months away so 25 million will probably be the number.

The real question is how many Trump supporters will tune in?

Debates are on the table

The California Presidential Primary is March 3 2020.  
It used to be in June
For those of you who haven't paid attention that might come as a shock......to those of you who have paid attention you are probably working on one of the campaigns.

Obviously at this stage of the game the Democratic primary is much more important than the Republican primary.  The fact that no Republican has come forth and said "enough is enough" is an entirely different story for another time.  The backbone of the GOP is made up of fish oil and jello....PERIOD.

The Iowa Caucus will take place on February 3.

The last scheduled primary takes place on June 16 in Washington DC
(Some states do not have dates at this point)

California has 55 delegates so our primary is quite important.

The summer of 2020 will be a summer of name calling like we've never seen.  The current President's mouth will be in tip top shape and whoever is carrying the Democratic banner will either simply ignore the tactic or fire back on the same battlefield.

My expression "Fire the Liar" could be a huge part of the campaign.  With signage posted at rallies I would think if DJT sees enough of those signs his head might explode.......but with the color of his hair we might not see the flames.

THIS UPCOMING CAMPAIGN WILL BE ONE OF THE UGLIEST IN AMERICAN HISTORY and
unfortunately 
ONE OF THE MOST ENTERTAINING.

The final face-off between President "Biff" and whoever wins on the Democratic side will be epic....and the viewing audience around the world will reach incredible numbers.

At this point in time I have no idea who the Democrats will have on that final stage.

I haven't made it a secret about who I personally want with my previous Joe Biden posts......but I haven't closed the door to any of the candidates at this point in time.  Four years ago I was pushing hard for Elizabeth Warren and I voted for Bernie in the Primary.....and then Jill Stein in the final election, which still upsets certain people in my life. (I support the entire platform of the Green Party and only 1.9 million other Americans felt the same way)

I'm looking forward to hearing all the candidates speak and the debates will be interesting just like the GOP debates in 2016 when 17 candidates stood on the stage.  At this point I think there are 19 trying for the Democratic leadership.

By the way, do you recall those GOP debates when the current guy in the White House was considered a silly publicity stunt?  

It is quite possible that one of the lesser known candidates could emerge and at the very least create a problem for the big names.

Issues that have always been important but now seem to be at the forefront of all debates:

Abortion
Gay Rights
Gun Control
Immigration
Climate Change
Opiate Addictions
Equal Rights for Woman
Civil Rights
Marijuana Decriminalization

The order of importance is entirely based on who one is talking to.

Recently the topic of trade, tariffs and WAR have entered the arena thanks to a President
who seems oblivious on so many levels and yet who continues to receive undying support from his base and FOX news.

Watching our President give a speech is simply
sad.

I don't know how else to define the experience.

Similarities and observations

There was a scene in the final episode of Game of Thrones when the "families" were deciding who should be King and how he should be chosen.  The smartest guy on the "panel" suggested that maybe EVERYONE should be involved in the selection process..........there was a long pause and then laughter started and comments were made that dogs and horses should be consulted.

I actually heard the entire 2019 Republican Party laughing and it got really loud in my head and I had to take 2 Advil.

The ladies in the show were central to the entire series and at the end the big hero just got on her horse and rode off into the sunset or wherever Mr. Martin thought she might be comfortable with her face changing abilities.  She'll probably get her own show and somehow she will team up with the dragon and train it to talk and play Pokemon.

One last question.....how did that ice wall grow back so fast?
It's resurrection was faster than people forgetting what a douche bag Trump is and getting ready to support him for another four years.

Yesterday my brother said that every economic indicator in the country was stronger than it's ever been and I mentioned the debt and he calmly said that Obama's was higher.

I'm really not surprised that GOP supporters are trying to build a positive case for 2020 and the reelection of the silliest President we've ever had. I'm not surprised...just baffled.

The guy's just silly.

He makes things up and he denies everything and anything that might indicate he's goofy.

The real danger is if he sees it slipping away he will instigate a war with IRAN so that people will be afraid to change leaders.

Narcissism is an over used word in today's society due to the fact that baby boomers use it too often to describe millennials and the x-gens.

We can't help it.

There's a line in a James Lee Burke novel (The New Iberia Blues) that sums up so much of what I feel about the new understanding I have of the Republican Party.

" I wouldn't call it an epistemological breakthrough, but it is a beginning."

And since I brought him along on this ride I might as well expound a bit.

James Lee Burke writes some of the best paragraphs I have ever read....and his stories, while quite often create mental images that aren't welcomed, always entertain while at the same time reveal a truly gifted English linguist.  He reveals a subtle part of soul awareness that makes his work strangely spiritually optimistic.

Since I just wrote those words and can't ever remember writing them before, in conjunction with each other, I'd like to think that

PART TWO

Obviously before reading Part Two you will want to scroll down and read Part One.

I've decided to list the decisions that have been made by the Trump EPA in order of their importance.
You might not agree with the order but I'm asking you to weight the entire list and then tell me that these decisions aren't decisions that go against everything that most administrations, since 1970, have attempted to achieve in order that our air, water and renewable energy needs get addressed.

The safety of the American people was the reason the EPA was formed.

When business and corporate America were allowed to do whatever they wanted without the slightest concern for environmental issues: 

* Rivers and lakes were polluted and ground water was contaminated by pesticides.  
*Air pollution levels reached numbers that were clogging great cities
* Above ground Nuclear tests were conducted long after they knew the dangers of  radioactive fall out.
* The single issue of ongoing denial of tobacco dangers by tobacco companies is one for the books.

Now let's see how Donald J. Trump has gone out of his way to once more let Big Business and Corporate America have their way.

Appointing someone who had sued the EPA 14 times on behalf of the Coal Industry as the head of the EPA is the first action in question.  Scott Pruitt proved to be not only bad at his job but he set a new bar for being weird.


In March of 2017 Mr. Trump made a big deal of having Dow Chemical leaders in his office to sign a bill allowing them to continue using CHLORPYRIFOS.  This pesticide has been scientifically linked to one of the causes, if not the main cause, of why BEES DO NOT RETURN TO THE HIVE.  
EPA scientists, under Obama, had recommended stoppage.

I put this on top because I'm partial to the BEE and Colony Collapse Disorder is a real problem for the entire planet.  Simply read about what happens if BEES were to vanish. If you aren't aware of CCD....YOU SHOULD BEEEEEE.

In May of 2017 Trump announced a 23 percent cut in the EPA's enforcement budget and a 31 percent cut in the entire agency.

Stop and consider that enforcement is the key to preventing or stopping someone from doing something illegal to the environment.  In fact there were numerous reports that enforcement was just not an important issue anymore.

DID I FAIL TO MENTION THAT MR. TRUMP REGARDS CLIMATE CHANGE ISSUES AND GLOBAL WARMING AS A HOAX....AND THUS 60 MILLION WHO SUPPORT HIS ACTIONS ALSO MUST BELIEVE IN THAT SAME HOAX

IN THE FIRST SIX MONTHS OF HIS ADMINISTRATION  THE EPA COLLECTED $12 MILLION IN CIVIL PENALTIES FOR ENVIRONMENTAL VIOLATIONS.

THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION COLLECTED $36 MILLION IN THE SAME TIME PERIOD.
THE GEORGE W. BUSH ADMINISTRATION COLLECTED $30 MILLION.


In October of 2017 the EPA announced that it would eliminate the CLEAN POWER PLAN... ...claiming that the "war on Coal was over."  In 2015 the CLEAN POWER PLAN had mandated that US power sector's carbon emissions be cut by 32 percent....(870 million tons of C02.

In February of 2018 Trump proposed large cuts to the Climate and Clean Energy programs.

In May of 2018 The Trump administration announces that it will cut the NASA Climate Monitoring Program. This 10 million dollar program was created to improve the monitoring of global carbon emissions.

In July of 2018 Scott Pruitt resigns and is best known for having a phone booth installed in his office and for being a strong advocate of the US leaving the Paris Climate Accords.  Two Harvard researchers, in a letter to the American Medical Association, claimed environmental policies championed by Pruitt could kill an additional 80,000 people per decade.

In October of 2018 the EPA said it will disband the Air Pollution Review Board.  The 20 member board consists of scientists who are experts in the health dangers of soot.

In August of 2018 Trump unveiled a plan to nullify Federal rules on coal power plans.

In August of 2018 Trump announces that he has a plan to weaken the fuel economy rules that were put in place by the Obama administration.

This just occurred to me

IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN CLIMATE CHANGE THE CLEAN POWER PLAN MEANS NOTHING....in fact everything I list means............

............NOTHING....NADA....ZIP.

THE REPUBLICAN PARTY PROTECTS BUSINESS AT ALL COST.

And considering that Richard Nixon started the agency the current anti-environmental positions of the elephant party just don't make sense.

Smart guy asked me to name the bad decisions EPA has made under Trump....PART ONE

So let's begin at the beginning, which is always a good place to start, unless of course you want to begin at the end and by then all hell has broken loose and nobody has time to blame anyone because everyone is simply trying to survive the chaos.

The EPA stands for Environmental Protection Agency and was established as an independent agency by Richard M. Nixon in 1970.  It is not part of the cabinet but the head of the EPA is generally given a cabinet post.

There are 14,172 people who work for the EPA and their budget is $8.1 billion.

The debate regarding the value of the EPA can be summarized with these two groups facing off.

Those who believe the EPA is helping to create a healthier and safer world
vs
Those who believe the agency commits government overreach and adds unnecessary regulations on businesses and property owners.

BEFORE READING FURTHER........WHICH SIDE DO YOU STAND ON?

IF YOU STAND WITH THE SECOND GROUP THEN I CAN PROMISE YOU THAT NOTHING I SAY IN THIS ARTICLE WILL HAVE ANY AFFECT ON YOU BECAUSE YOU SUPPORT BUSINESS OVER THE HEALTH AND WELFARE OF THE HUMAN RACE.

Does that seem like a harsh statement?  I realize that those who stand in the second group have to protect corporate thinking and basic business fundamentals because of course that's the American way....and God knows those people are needed to protect the American way .

The problem is there isn't a problem until there's a problem.

Corporate America has proven that fixing problems, that they created, should be taken care of by the Government.....

Simply consider the Superfund sites across this great nation.

The red dots are sites that businesses have created that are waiting for someone else to clean up.
(Some of those dots are government spots created by the military but most are business ventures)

BUT LETS GET BACK TO THE BEGINNING

In the 60's there were indications that human activity could possibly cause problems to the environment that would affect the health of future generations.  Pesticides were the focus in those days and Congress responded by creating certain acts that were intended to protect the general public.

The NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY ACT OF 1969 basically set the stage for the creation of the EPA and in 1970 President Nixon created the agency.

SIDEBAR/  In my humble opinion this might be Richard Nixon's greatest accomplishment.

In the beginning the agency simply helped create goals and standards for environmental issues but very quickly acts and amendments were passed by Congress and thus the EPA's regulatory
authority was established.

TO SEE HOW THE RECENT DECISIONS BY THE TRUMP EPA HAVE AFFECTED OUR FUTURE IT'S IMPORTANT TO SHOW SOME OF THE ISSUES THAT EXISTED OVER THE LAST 60 YEARS.....OR LIKE I REFER TO IT AS

THE TIME WHEN BUSINESS WAS ALLOWED TO DO WHATEVER THEY FUCK THEY WANTED

And which now, once more, is becoming the rally cry of the Trump administration.

(I will also list some of the important decisions made by the EPA to counterbalance the problems)

The dumping of cyanide into the Cuyahoga River in Ohio by 12 different companies was one of the first confrontations undertaken by the EPA in 1970.....as a result
In 1972 
Congress created the Federal Water Pollution Control Act which became known as the CLEAN WATER ACT.

In 1972 the EPA was required to measure every pesticide's risks against potential benefits.

In 1976 Congress passed the TOXIC SUBSTANCE CONTROL ACT.  This act gave the EPA
authority to gather information on chemicals and require producers to test them.....with focus on PCB's.  The EPA then created the NATIONAL INVENTORY listing of chemicals.  In that same year the EPA was tasked with setting national goals for waste disposal, conserving energy and natural resources, reducing waste, and ensuring environmentally sound management of waste.

PLEASE NOTE THAT BEFORE 1972 POLLUTING THE RIVERS OF AMERICA WAS COMMON PRACTICE DUE TO THE SIMPLE FACT THAT MOST INDUSTRIAL PLANTS WERE BUILT NEXT TO RIVERS SO THAT WASTE PRODUCT COULD BE EASILY DUMPED.

In 1980 Congress passed the COMPREHENSIVE ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSE, COMPENSATION and LIABILITY ACT.....better known as
"SUPERFUND"
This act was created in order to give the EPA authority to find parties responsible for sites contaminated by previous hazardous waste disposal and establish a funding mechanism for assessment and cleanup.

In 1986 when Chernobyl imploded the EPA was responsible for identifying any potential problems for the United States. As a response that year Congress created the EMERGENCY PLANNING and COMMUNITY RIGHT-TO-KNOW ACT which authorized the EPA to gather data on toxic chemicals and SHARE the information with the public.

PLEASE NOTE ONCE MORE:
BEFORE THE EPA....BIG BUSINESS WAS ALLOWED TO DO WHATEVER THE FUCK THEY WANTED AND THE PHRASE  "ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION" WAS NON-EXISTENT.

THIS ISSUE WAS NOT A DEMOCRATIC VS REPUBLICAN ISSUE as noted in 1988 when George H. Bush was extremely vocal about environmental issues....and even appointed an environmentalist, William K. Reilly as his Administrator.

ANOTHER SIDEBAR:
I believe that when Newt Gingrich introduced his CONTRACT WITH AMERICA in 1994 and the word environment was not mentioned that the issue became a non issue with the Republican party while at the same time the Democratic party became the environmentally aware party.

Watching Michael Cohen at the hearing on Wednesday was extremely compelling TV.

The Republicans only echoed Trump's campaign jargon....and never asked Mr. Cohen anything important.

The Democrats voiced their own agenda's and asked every detailed question possible.

A few simple facts......

the man was Donald Trump's personal lawyer for 10 years

Donny baby is a horrible judge of character 

this guy just walked all over President Biff's legacy 

 Donald J. Trump is the ultimate con man and he made Michael Cohen into the man he is today.

A guy on his way to prison........

The one thing I didn't know is that Michael was a Democrat while working for the Republican finance committee and they asked him to switch parties because it didn't look right.

Boy, does that seem pretty small potatoes compared to the stew he's in today.

But please note.....

The biggest liar in this entire story is the guy who looks like a bad ad for Florida vacations.

The Experience might count and then again....

Wrapping up the greatest defensive Super Bowl in history.

Facing the greatest team in Super Bowl history with the most successful coach and greatest quarterback could prove worthwhile in the long run IF they (Rams) can get back to the last game once more.

That's not a given by any means.

It is not an easy task to play in the last game of the season, no matter what the sport might be.

Of course I thought that the Rams were good enough to win but that thought has nothing to do with the actual reality of how the event concluded.

It was a great season and once more Boston takes down LA.

NOW ON TO MORE IMPORTANT ISSUES...but a lot less fun.

The race for the White House in 2020 has begun.

The current resident started campaigning last week.

The Democrats are starting to line up and currently I think 5 women have announced....and 3 men.

I'm still hoping that Mr. Biden realizes how much he is needed.

Each of the women has the talent but only one really has the experience and she will have to somehow overcome an issue dealing with ancestry.....

The raised voice argument I had today with my brother on the second hole of our weekly golf outing had to do with him calling Senator Warren a liar on her application to attend a certain college.  I countered with "the guy in the White House has lied 3000 times in two years and that's not an issue for you?"  He then proceeded to bring up Clinton lying about Monica.

Each of those two people are responsible for two lies....and yet that supersedes the current President of the United States telling a lie almost every time he talks.

For eight years I had to listen to my brother call Obama an asshole because of the increased deficit and when I ask him about the current deficit numbers and how a real asshole now runs our country and damages American's reputation throughout the world AND WHY THAT'S NOT AN ISSUE WITH HIM he answers by bringing up Clinton (Both Mr. and Mrs.)

BLINDERS ARE NECESSARY FOR A LARGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN OUR COUNTRY.

I'm really looking forward to issues being addressed by people who know how to think and speak.
