In my narrow hallway of reasoning and deductive abilities I have come to the conclusion that President Biff's latest statement might be his
STUPIDEST STATEMENT
EVER.
The FBI raiding his personal lawyer's office resulted in
DONALD J. TRUMP (President Biff in my world) saying the following words.
"THIS ACTION IS AN ATTACK ON AMERICA"
I sincerely hope he does fire Robert S. Mueller 111 because
then it would be the beginning of the end for the Trump administration.
But getting back to his most stupid statement ever.....all this statement does is verify how large and misdirected his ego is. And of course we all realize that having a large ego is fundamentally important when one decides to enter the world of politics. But that entry level political ego development usually begins shortly after college or law school not at the age of 68. Then combine that with the ego enhancement from having hosted a successful TV show for numerous years after building a financial real estate empire and it's easy to see how the guy thinks he can do and say anything anytime he wants.
The President of the United States must possess a quality known as decorum.
The guy sitting in the oval office at 1600 Pennsylvanian Ave has NONE.
and by the way, the Webster definition of decorum
......propriety and good taste in behavior, speech, etc.
I will repeat myself......the guy has NONE.
ZIP
NADA
And if you believe that decorum can be camouflaged by gold chairs and gold coffee mugs, long red ties and dyed artificial hair then you might have voted for the asshole.
I mainly refer to him as an asshole because of what he has done to the EPA. The environmental issues that are being targeted by the Trump administration and his lackey, Scott Pruitt, are the main issues that will greatly affect my granddaughter and your grandchildren.
Of course his isolationist and trade war mentality might be putting US all in immediate danger but I have faith in the political system and fully believe that even Republicans know when to bite the bullet and flush the problem before it leads to mass chaos.
An attack on America?
Technology has introduced new methods for attacking anyone at anytime and we have seen that form of attack happen in overt and subtle ways over the last few years.
THE FBI using a legal search warrant to secure documents ON ANYONE is not an attack on America
IT IS A GESTURE THAT SHOWS
AMERICA
WORKING
CORRECTLY
IF NOTHING IS FOUND THAT IMPLICATES ILLEGAL BEHAVIOR
THEN THE FBI HAS SOME SPLAINING TO DO.
BUT EVEN THEN
THAT EXPLANATION WILL PROBABLY
JUST
BE
AN
APOLOGY
but remember
A search warrant being issued
generally doesn't bode well for the target.
An attack on America?
Please PRESIDENT "BIFF"
stop pretending this is your personal TV show and let me use your exact words.....
YOU ARE FIRED!

The trade wars and "Biffs" behavior and something much more important
I don't really care what a celebrity does because it generally never affects my life....but when a celebrity starts making decisions that directly affects millions of people's lives then it's time to draw the line.
Let's first look at the facts regarding President "Biff" and his ladies.
That infamous video tape, released before the election, with Billy Bush, let everyone know who HE was and yet it was completely ignored by millions of voters.
Getting upset with women who signed waivers not to talk but now are deciding to talk is really not an issue.
But I do think that they should return the money.
The main issue here is that celebrities can get away with many things that a non-celebrity can't.
So we watch questionable behavior and read about irresponsible actions and then gossip about how crazy celebrities are.....and then we turn the page and get back to our lives.
BUT WHEN A CELEBRITY
BECOMES PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES
ALARMS
MUST
BE
SOUNDED
THIS PRETEND PRESIDENTIAL SITUATION HAS GOTTEN OUT OF CONTROL
THE NON-EXISTENT STABILITY ISSUE REGARDING THE ADMINISTRATION HAS GOTTEN
OUT OF CONTROL
THE ENTIRE 14 MONTHS SINCE DONALD J. TRUMP HAS BEEN IN THE WHITE HOUSE
HAS
BEEN
A
JOKE
and
IT'S NO LONGER
FUNNY
When you stop and think about his slogan "Make America Great Again" and suddenly realize that he could actually reverse our position and make us less than we were when he started this ridiculous exercise in ego gratification.
HE IS AN EMBARRASSMENT and that truth reflects on the America people and our Great country.
(why people let him downgrade America with that stupid campaign slogan always baffled me)
The trade war, which officially gets underway this week, will only affect the average middle and lower class consumer.
IT DOESN'T TAKE A GENIUS TO UNDERSTAND THAT COMPANIES AFFECTED BY TARIFFS SIMPLY PASS THE INCREASE ON TO THE CONSUMER.
IT ALSO DOESN'T TAKE A GENIUS TO REALIZE THAT THE UPPER MIDDLE CLASS AND WEALTHY PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY COULDN'T REALLY CARE LESS IF PRICES INCREASE.
And then this entire Russian investigation just raises more questions then the average person can handle...and generally it gets overlooked.
There's no way that the present clown in the White House can survive one term.
My only real concern is that he doesn't take the rest of us down with him.
I still can't get over the fact that Donald J. Trump has somehow made George W. Bush look like Albert Einstein.
VERY VERY WEIRD!
BUT...and it's a big BUT.....
TOMORROW March 29th
is the beginning
of
the
2018
MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL SEASON
and after the great season the Dodgers had last year
(only one team had a perfect season)
It's very exciting to see if they can either repeat
or take it one step further.
Getting to the World Series is the goal of every team in the spring.
Winning the World Series is a huge bonus
and while everyone thinks
Houston is the team to beat
one must always remember that it is very hard to repeat in baseball.
Probably the hardest of all the team sports, because so many things
can affect a season.....
and 162 games is a very l o n g season.
One key injury can derail a team.
Two injuries to key players and it's wait til next year.
Politics doesn't seem to have that problem. Multiple injuries take place and replacements just simply appear and take over and then more injuries and more replacements and the beat goes on.
I feel sorry for those people who don't have a favorite team to root for......it truly takes ones mind off the bullshit game that politics has become.
Some might say it's always been a bullshit game but I think the bar has been set at a new low.
But of course that's just me
you see.

I'm not ignoring the guy.....it's just that I'm bored with the chaos......
It's been awhile since I pounded on the "Biff" Presidency and it's not from lack of wanting but instead I've come to realize the repeated chaos from the current administration, to put it mildly, is ......simply boring.
Everyday there's an issue of some sort that just makes me think we (i'm pretty sure you understand the we that we are) don't need to interject any outside contrarian opinion or influence because the guy just does it to himself....over and over and over and over.
As he tries to turn back the clock and recreate industries that have no chance competing with low wage countries it becomes very clear on one, and of course there are many, of the main differences between this administration and the previous administration......
For eight years we had a President who was telling people that the creation of new jobs would come from new sources and that the future would look different than the industrialized America that was constructed after WW 2, and that people would have to adapt and change. People who worked with their hands would have to learn how to use computers. The previous guy stressed the fact that jobs would be created in a wide range of Eco-friendly industries and technology and that the sooner workers got on board the better off they would be.
The new guy wants everything to be the way it was in 1952. As an example The United States was the world leader in steel, auto and furniture manufacturing and great cities were built around those industries and a powerful and vibrant middle class was formed and prospered for 30 years, with hardly any competition except for the Japanese and their well built automobiles in the early 70's.
Then countries without middle classes and possessing huge body counts realized that America loves to do one thing.......SHOP. And of course when one loves to shop one loves to get the best deal and getting the best deal means being able to save money.
How in the world can the American steel industry complete? Even if they retooled every steel plant in the country the wage barrier alone would never allow for the best deal. And if the retooling were done properly then automation would virtually eliminate any need for human hands.
In order for the United States to compete with the wages of China, Viet-Nam, and India salaries would have to be reduced by 75%.
THAT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
Reducing salaries by 20% is not going to happen.
Our Middle Class consumer is the backbone of our country. There will always be a certain amount of people who shop at Nordstrom's but compare the numbers to Costco and Wal-Mart and you see the reality.
It's nationalism versus globalization and without another World War there's no going backwards.
WE ARE THE INNOVATORS AND WE MUST ACCEPT THE FACT THAT OTHER COUNTRIES CAN BUILD BASIC GOODS CHEAPER THAN US.
LET THEM USE THEIR WORK FORCE AND CREATE THE PRODUCTS WE DESIGN.
WE WILL THEN BUY IT AND USE IT AND BUY SOME MORE.
BUT THAT CAN'T WORK IF WE DON'T FIGURE OUT NEW WAYS TO CREATE REVENUE FOR OUR MIDDLE CLASS.
AND
WE CAN'T LET THE WEAPONS INDUSTRY EXPAND TO A POINT WHERE THE GOODS THEY MAKE ALL HAVE TO BE USED...... SO THEY CAN MAKE MORE.
RENEWABLE ENERGY
ECOLOGICAL AWARENESS

SUPERIOR ENTERTAINMENT
UNEQUALED SERVICE
These are just a few of the avenues we can dominate but with our current leadership there appears to be no interest
other than
expanding Twitter, trying to invent Clean Coal
using up fossil fuels as fast as possible
stopping any progress related to health care
....and of course the main problem....
reversing any previous attempt to improve the quality of our
air
and
water.
By the way it's been 14 months since he took office and the amount of changes and legal issues in his administration have set records that will never be broken.....AND HE'S JUST GETTING STARTED.
I'm bored with his entire agenda and I'm simply hoping that the American public feels the same way.
Mid-terms are approaching and that should tell us something.,,,unless the GOP redistricting dealio has taken over completely

Still the winner
On my last post I mentioned that I like to find the hottest "chicks" in the Olympics.....and of course mention a few compelling stories.
There are quite a few that grabbed my attention and they usually operate around the ice skating rink.
After careful consideration I think I have to pick the winner as the same winner I choose 4 years ago and eight years ago.
Madison Chock didn't win a medal but who cares?
The Shaun White story seems compelling but maybe for the wrong reasons. Time will tell if his past behavior weighs more than his athletic accomplishments.
I keep thinking that maybe Lance Armstrong shouldn't be so tortured....after all he just abused himself.
The Lindsay Vonn saga is very compelling and Trump supporters are somehow involved in the post game parade of comments.....claiming she lost the downhill because of "Karma." She was quoted a few weeks ago saying she wouldn't go to the White House if invited. I think the real karma drama centers around the fact that now she doesn't have to worry about being invited. She is the most decorated skier in United States history and that should be enough to keep her warm at night. Look for her to be a lead commentator next to Bodie Miller at the next winter Olympics in 2022.
The US women's Hockey team defeated Canada for the gold medal in one of the most exciting hockey games I've ever watched.
YOU CAN COUNT THE HOCKEY GAMES I'VE WATCHED BY HOLDING UP YOUR TWO HANDS....and the games I've watched are in the Winter Olympics.
Getting back to the "babes"
Tessa Virtue from Canada just completed her fourth Olympic games and she won the gold medal with her partner, in all aspects of life, Scott Moir for Ice Dancing.
This is them awhile back.
This is them......Now....gold medals and wedding bands......great story.
Norway has 5 million people and leads everyone in medals.
Of course there are lots of blondies in Norway and since they were Vikings it makes sense that they excel in winter sports.
This speed skater's name is Hege Bokko and I'm not sure how to pronounce it but she is definitely Bokko ok to me.
The 16 year old Russian skater who leads after the short program easily had the coolest looking costume and I think it helped her take a slight lead over the older Russian skater who is 18. They both have great poise and the final should be quite entertaining.
That's enough beauty for now......it's time to get back to the Curling finals. By the way how about the Curling dude who got expelled for Performance Enhancing drugs? How in the world will he ever live that down?
So far I'm just elated that no one got killed in the Big Air and Half Pipe contests......
THOSE GUYS AND GALS ARE INSANE......
but
Madison Chock is still the winner......

Number 1300
This is my 1300th post on MIND JAZZ and it's the first day of the 2108 Winter Olympics, which are being held in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
In a few days millions of Americans will actually know how to pronounce Pyeongchang and millions of human beings will turn their attention to an area of the world that has been dominated by a small "son of...." north of Pyeongchang.
I'm not going to spend time discussing the leader of North Korea because I'm sure he will make his presence felt one way or another over the next two weeks.
I'm a huge fan of Olympic competition and today, before the Opening Ceremonies, the Curling events have started.
The shallow part of me always likes to find the most beautiful female faces participating in the Olympics but maybe all the recent news involving women coming forward regarding sexual harassment and abuse will make that type of entry.......wrong.
Does this mean I should stop even looking a beautiful women with great athletic bodies?
There seems to be a fine line that I'm no longer allowed to cross.
or
does this get back to the old expression??????
"You can look but you better not touch".....which happens to be a lyric from a song
Most likely what will occur over the next two weeks of my Olympic coverage will be the following
situations.
: I will point out a remarkable story or two regarding someone who might not even win a medal.
: I will post a photo or two or three or four or even more of an extremely hot female athlete.
: I will write about the winners and I write about the losers (of which there are none because once you are an Olympic participant you forever are an Olympic participant.
: I will point out the good reporting of events.
: I will also remark about the silly questions that get asked.
BUT THE MAIN THING I WILL DO OVER THE NEXT TWO WEEKS:
TRY TO AVOID NEWS ABOUT ANY EVENT THAT I'M INTERESTED IN THAT I HAVEN'T HAD A CHANCE TO WATCH ON THE DVR.
How in the world did anyone live before having a DVR?
My daughter's cell phone went down last night and she's asking the same question
about cell phones?
My take on cell phones is that they are totally addictive and withdrawal will be extremely painful.
If my DVR isn't working I just pick up a newspaper or a magazine and read about what happened.
Younger generations don't seem to know what a newspaper is....but the LA TIMES was just purchased for $500 million so there must be some value left....unless it's just a tax write-off for the billionaire Doctor who bought it.
God forbid that the whole INTERNET went down....or if some trillionaire bought it and started charging us by the nanosecond.
I wouldn't be able to publish my 1300th article and you wouldn't be reading these words right now which would mean that you would be outside doing something physical....like participating in the 2018 Olympics.
Just stop for a sec and think about how hard all the athletes have worked to get to this moment on the world stage.
Let's celebrate their efforts....win or lose. And in the meantime let me be shallow and point out some beautiful female faces.
By the way....as you watch Lindsay Vonn try to win another medal do you also think about Tiger Woods? Has your celebrity world completely blended into one odd bubble of information?
I'm trying not to think of Donald Trump as I get ready to watch the 2018 Games but I'm finding it almost impossible. Watching the Curling doesn't work but maybe the more intense events will rid me of this ongoing nightmare.
Let the Games begin....and let the faces appear.

And then came the actual facts
I'll give President "Biff" kudos on a few things from the State of the Union speech.
His hair wasn't orange.
He seemed subdued.
His tie wasn't overtly long.
He didn't talk for two hours.
As for some of his "strange" comments I'd like to start with the "clean coal" statement.
WHERE DOES CLEAN COAL EXIST?
I think back to when Ronnie removed the solar panels from the White House that Jimmy had installed in 1977. Simply telling the fossil fuel and coal people that they had the upper hand.
Now 40 years later "Biff" announces that affordable solar panels from importers will be assessed a tariff that should even the playing field for US manufacturers. In truth he's telling oil and coal people that once again they have the upper hand....and that no matter how much renewable energy has advanced he will do everything in his power to slow down the process.
I'm thinking that he can do whatever he wants but nothing is going to halt the intelligent increase of renewable energy sources. I'm also fairly certain that within a year or two when the renewable energy numbers continue to increase....he will take full credit and somehow spin the entire story so that he and Scott Pruitt of the decimated EPA will be heroes.
I know that sounds silly but so far he has taken credit for every single thing that was already happening to our economy,
Study the flow charts from 2008 regarding unemployment and stock market numbers and note that, as I've said many times before, the recovery from 2008 meltdown doesn't have an actual set time frame and that it could take 6 or 8 or 12 years. It's been 10 years and of course the recovery started when that other guy was in the White House.
Once again he keeps talking about our resurgent military and once more I say look at the numbers.
Count our military airplanes, aircraft carriers and submarines compared to rest of the world
Look at the money we spend on our military budget compared to everyone else combined.
This discrepancy in numbers existed long before "Biff" entered office.
There has never been a stronger military in the world and even as China tries to play catch up and Russian tries to revamp...they are light years behind us....in both technology and machinery.
I suggest that if you want the actual facts regarding his speech that you do the research.
Of course I like Bernie's web page but that can't be a surprise.
And one more thing...don't try to point out that the Democrats didn't stand up for many of his statements, Perhaps you can recall when the entire GOP side of the aisle sat on their thumbs for all of Barry's speeches.
That's just the game they play....and when you think about it.......it's not really a very nice game.
Facts and political speeches generally have very little in common.
Good luck sorting out the truth.
The fun part is doing the research and trying to figure out if any elected official is actually
an honest and right thinking human being.
It seems pretty obvious that the guy at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave is neither but then again he is not a politician.....he's just a celebrity.
And that my friends is an actual fact.

"ODD"
That "family" in Perris, Ca has neighbors that thought their behavior was ODD.
I would summarize the last few years as ODD but in no way possible could that family be anything but
bat shit crazy.
I'm getting very concerned that there's something in the water or maybe those conspiracy people are right about the Chem-trails.
FOR EXAMPLE:
The "mom" in Perris couldn't figure out why authorizes would come to her door.
The EPA allowing DOW to continue spraying nerve gas on our food.
The President of the United States expressing every thought he gets on Twitter.
A guy pushing the wrong button on a drill and making everyone in Hawaii think they were being annihilated.
The doctor for the female USA Olympic Gymnastic team. I can't even imagine how this went on for year after year after year.
Normally I'm very excited about the beginning of the Olympics but the location makes me very nervous.
I saw some pictures the other day of the area and first thought was.....where's the snow....and my second thought was how many of the 33,686 US soldiers lost their lives in those mountains.
They announced the other day that a North Korean team was being allowed to participate. I think one of the bobsled guys is Kim Jong Un.......(not capitalized normally but that's just the way I roll....deal with it)
I realize this is well off of point but it appears that the entire USC football roster is declaring for the NFL draft.
How about a slight change of pace......
And then there's another shift in style
Which actually happens to be the song I would select if asked to sing my favorite song for entrance to the pearly gates.
And then once I got inside I would crank it up a bit.
So let's interview the neighbors of those Perris people and then the grandparents, who apparently knew what was happening, and really figure out who is the oddest of them all.
I did hear a rumor that the Inland Empire, where Perris is located, supported Trump at about 70 percent.
Go figure.
ODD?
Probably not so much......more like the sign
of
the
times.

Reviewing 2017 from non-personal angle
As I look back on 2017, with a social view, all I see is Trump.
Let's be honest here....the year was filled with an eclipse and the firing of the head of the FBI and of course that horrible incident in Las Vegas and the earthquake in Mexico. Throw in three devastating hurricanes and the California fires and we had many things to take our mind off of what was happening in Washington D.C. with the GOP agenda.....
BUT
and yes it is a big butt......
Donald J. Trump, or as I like to call him, President "Biff" dominated the news....both at home and around the world.
The North Korean leader tried to steal some of the spotlight but every time he made a move "Biff" simply tweeted and took back center court.
Of course we had some sports moments that helped to take our mind off of reality....with the city of Houston celebrating their first ever World Series title after having been crushed by the flooding earlier in the year.
Those of us who are bit older in LA got to enjoy a local Dodger World Series experience for the first time in 29 years.
The Rams second season back in LA saw a complete turnaround of fortunes and this coming Saturday will mark their first playoff appearance since 2003. Oh and by the way, the Rams are 6 point favorites over the Atlanta Falcons.....who actually played in last years Super Bowl and lost to the New England Patriots.
THIS POINT SPREAD DOES NOT TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THE ELEMENT OF A DEFEATED SUPER BOWL TEAM KNOWING EXACTLY WHAT THEY HAVE TO DO TO NOT ONLY GET BACK TO THE BIG GAME....BUT WIN IT THIS TIME AROUND.
WHY THE ODDS MAKERS ARE IGNORING THE FALCONS SIMPLY MAKES NO SENSE TO ME AND IF I WERE A REAL GAMBLER...THIS WOULD SEEM LIKE AN OBVIOUS UPSET.
I'm just remembering how bad the Rams were a year ago, and yes they are now a much better team, but I think it takes a few years to be seriously able to advance in the playoffs.
But if I'm wrong then I'll sure as hell enjoy being wrong.
SEE......sports do take our minds off of reality.
Another area that takes our attention away from political reality is the world of show business.
2017 was unique because it tied show business up in a neat little knot known as "sexual harassment." In a year where Wonder Woman appeared with a huge flourish, many regular women came along and stood up for their dignity.
The sexual harassment issue then moved to politics and once more we were slapped with politics interrupting our leisure time.
The fact that two completely opposite political figures bit the dust (Franken and Moore) seemed like a sporting event.
2017 saw the 8th Star Wars story reach a billion dollars in sales within 3 weeks of its release.
1977 to 2017 and there seems to be no end in site unless Disney somehow implodes
and since 1955 the name Disney has dominated every aspect of our culture NOT HAVING TO DO WITH POLITICS.
The real problems with the GOP agenda will become clear over the next year and reversing any damage will take a few more years. Hopefully the upcoming midterm elections will be an indication of what will happen in 2020.
But I'm reminded of what part of Neo-Illumination #6 says.....
"Happiness might be based on
how much
information
one can ignore"
and if that's true then we might be faced with two terms of President Biff and everything that took place in 2017 will seem like a soft preview before the main attraction.
Just imagine for one second that 2017 was the gentle and uneventful year of his presidency.
I think I just scared myself.
Time to stop looking back and move forward into a year that will finally give me personal accomplishments that I been dreaming about since 1972 when I first started pounding out letters on my electric Smith Corona in an lovely little studio apartment overlooking a beautiful creek in Fairfax, California.
I think back to how much I detested the President of the United States in 1972 and this current dude just seems cartoonish compared to Tricky Dick....
The world has changed a lot since 1972 mainly due to the proliferation of arms and social avenues of communication but it has also changed in one other large way.
THOSE WHO ARE AWARE AND AWAKE
are
a much larger number then existed in 1972
and those who are aware and awake are much more aware and awake then
in 1972.
Of course there are now 7 BILLION people on the planet so everything has increased including things we can't seem to control like poverty, hunger, pollution, disease, migration and tragic climate episodes.
Those six bullet points listed above are what is exactly wrong with the GOP agenda.
Those issues are not on the table when we sit down to shallow what the Republican Party is serving.
But in the meantime....
Go Rams
and yes.........Spring Training is only 45 days away.......

2017 will be thought of as???????????
Attempting to summarize 2017 creates a unique conundrum, followed by a plethora of anomalies combined with ethical probabilities and mundane realities that are textured well beyond practical solutions.
Blessed in certain ways that should outshine the negative and ruthless truths of social and political events.
And of course it does in many many many certain ways that are far more important than anything that guy in the White House does, thinks or dreams.
The problem is.....his doing, thinking and dreaming can really mess things up for millions and millions of people.
That face you are looking at can only affect a few people at a time.
I'm pretty sure if she got the exposure and the brand that she seems to be born for........(pretty physically advanced young lady)......lots more than a few people could be affected in a very positive way.
I guess MODELS can be any age.
I can see her doing a print ad for Restoration Hardware's Baby and More stores....or maybe Baby Guess if they still exist....and of course a baby Dodger spot would be perfect.
Imagine Vin holding her talking about old and young baseball fans. She has already shown a soft spot for the Dodgers and much of that has to do with them going to the World Series. She got to watch her Grandpa hoot and holler through six games. 7th game saw very little enthusiasm on the part of her GP.
Isla Valentina Hernandez McAlevey
just celebrated her first Christmas
and she
is
9 months old
The joy of watching her respond to the Christmas celebration is truly priceless.
In fact it completely takes my mind off of anything political.
I started Mind Jazz 11 years ago yesterday and posting the picture of my granddaughter might be the best post I've done....and I've done 1290.
Enough said

PS...I'll do different type of 2017 retrospective in a few days.

No interest
My last post was regarding the work of Louis L'Amour, the western author, and it's duly noted that it becomes the least viewed post since 2006.
This is an indication of two things:
Western development of the United States between 1850 and 1900 is extremely low on my readers list of literary experiences
Most of my readers have decided that they no longer care about anything I have to say
I will admit that in the 11 years since I've started Mind Jazz I have written about many different topics ranging from Science to Religion to Art to Politics to Music to Financial to Environmental to Philosophy to Medical to Sports to Humor to Tragedy to Spirituality to Cosmology to Order to Chaos to Cinema to Color to Personal Success to Mental Blunders to Hypothesis to Hyperbole to Lecturing to Anomalies to Intelligence to Stupidity to Anger to Serenity to Questions to Answers to Speculation to Admiration to Beauty to Talent to Evil to Romance and on and on and on and on and of course to the fine art of
Literature
I had never mentioned Louis L'Amour and now that I have, I will either never mention him again or I will bring him up on a semi-regular basis until I feel that an adequate response has been generated.
It could be that I'm either very stubborn or that I just don't get the road signs and the directions they indicate.
I'm trying to expand your Universe
I realize fully that the size of the Universe is already so large that to assume your Universe is too small just indicates that I'm a bit off center when it comes to thinking about you.
You've probably learned by now
that
it's
all
about
me.
And perhaps that is the reason for the low number of views on my Louis L'Amour post.
Of course it is the start of the Holiday Season and people have much better things to do that spend time scrolling through a
Mind Jazz
post.
By the way.....the best Santa Claus I've ever personally seen works in the Santa Monica Place, right between Nordstroms and Bloomingdales and about forty feet away from the Tiffany and the Rolex stores....and about 20 feet from the Louis Vaitton and Johnny Was stores.
I guess you could say he's a High End Santa....but at $39 and $49 photo packages I 'm sure there are much more expensive locations. My guess is that the Trump Tower in NY has a Santa that costs at least a bill.
After talking to him for a few minutes the other day I was very impressed and felt a bit jealous of those under 10 who haven't grown past the age of early belief systems created simply to make childhood a bit more fun.
I just realized that that might be the reason I enjoy Mr. L'Amour books. Western fantasy tied in with historical reality makes for entertaining breaks from current realities.
These also would be great books for parents and grandparents to read to children between the ages of 5 and 12.
Reading to young people is one of life's great pleasures....and I feel sad for adults who haven't had that pleasure.
Happy Holidays
And by the way if you happen to be wondering about the other end of the spectrum.....the largest number of readers, during the last 11 years, always happens when I write about
NE0-ILLUMINATION.
So to quote Bill Murray from Caddyshack
"At least I've got that going for me"

Recommendation for readers, young and old.
I've recently talked to a few people who don't read fiction.
That eliminates the following wordsmiths
Charly Dickins
James Fenimoore Cooper
Edgar Allen Poe
Rudyard Kipling
Agatha Christie
Louis L'Amour
John Grisham
Dean Koontz
Kurt Vonnegut
Jimmy Lee Burke
Bobby Lewis Stevenson
Johnny Steinbeck
Ernie Hemingway
Tommy Wolfe
F. Scott Fitzgerald
Elmore Leonard
Stevie King
Jack London
James Michener
and
on
and
on
and
on.
Of all the above listed authors (and there are hundreds of more names that could and should be added to the list) I want to highly encourage an excursion into the world of
LOUIS L'AMOUR
The development of the Western United States before, during, and after the Civil War is one of the most intriguing periods in our history.
Generally people's knowledge of the West has been obtained through the art of Cinema and early television....which means John Wayne, Roy Rogers, Gunsmoke, Bonanza and the 1993 Tombstone film probably constitute most people's know how of how the West was developed.
Yeah...it reads know how of how.....deal with it.
Mr. L'Amour bio reads as follows:
Louis Dearborn L'Amour (/ˈluːi ləˈmʊr/; March 22 1908 –June 10 1988) was an American novelist and short story writer. His books consisted primarily of Western novels (though he called his work 'frontier stories'); however, he also wrote historical fiction (The Walking Drum), science fiction (The Haunted Mesa), non-fiction (Frontier), as well as poetry and short-story collections. Many of his stories were made into films and John Wayne once made the dubious assertion that L'Amour was the most interesting man in the world. L'Amour's books remain popular and most have gone through multiple printings. At the time of his death almost all of his 105 existing works (89 novels, 14 short-story collections, and two full-length works of nonfiction) were still in print, and he was considered "one of the world's most popular writers".[1][2]
His research into the time period is extensive and his naming of characters is unequaled. For example
I just finished reading The Cherokee Trail and the hero's name is....Temple Boone.
The stories are generally 4 to 5 hour reads and I suggest reading every word and put your speed reading abilities on hold.
Take a break from present day social and political happenings....flop down in your easy chair, put your feet up, grab some green tea, dim the lights and be ready to envision yourself traveling to an unknown land with people whose entire existence was based on starting a new life while encountering other people who had lived on the continent for thousands of years.
We know how things turned out but we quite often forget or don't care how the process unfolded.
Well researched historic fiction is a genre that should not be overlooked.
And nobody does the genre of how the West evolved better
than
Louis L'Amour.
It will take your mind off of how the GOP is attempting to rewrite the future of America...if only for a few hours at a time.

Baseball and a lifetime memory
Dear Sean,
I'm pretty sure we attended Dodger games after the opening day of the 1988 World Series but for obvious reasons that game will always have a unique place in my memory bank and of course....my heart.

You had just completed your first year in the Majors of Santa Monica Little League and as a 10 year old you held your own and displayed your talents against 11 and 12 year olds. The Dodgers had returned to the World Series for the first time since winning the whole thing in 1981. We were very fortunate to be given two seats in the last row of the right field pavilion. It would turn out that the right field pavilion would be immortalized every time video's would replay the infamous Kirk Gibson home run. I've watched the replay at least a few hundred times since 1988 and every time I know that you and I are jumping up and down and high-fiving each other and everyone around us. It was an epic moment for baseball and continues to be regarded as one of the greatest moments in World Series history. Of course it becomes a moment in our history that will never be extinguished....along with every moment we shared in the 15 years 10 months and 3 days of your physical reality.
You wrote a paper for your English class as a freshman at Loyola entitled "It's never over until the 54th out" and I didn't actually discover the paper until sometime later in the summer of 1994.....which turns out to be the year that no World Series was played because of a contract squabble between owners and players. The fact that the baseball season was shortened and no World Series played made perfect sense to me after what had happened on February 3rd 1994. To be honest I hadn't even followed baseball that year for the first time since I was 12 years old. Life was testing me in areas that had very little to do with sociological distractions, such as sports and politics.
I was very busy learning about non-physical reality and trying to understand why the Universe had decided to attack the very core of my existence.
I've created many various artistic and literary answers, whether or not they are valid is entirely up to the audience, and I am somewhat content to report that many of those answers make sense and allow me to continue believing in a Universe that is dominated by love and particle expansion while at the same time displaying an abundant amount of chaos and decay.
But for this letter I want to remember the shirt incident as we arrived for the first game of the 1988 World Series. (If you save the picture and then zoom in you can read what Sean's shirt says. Sean is the only one standing in the above picture)
As we drove up the road to go into the stadium there was a guy hawking tye-dyed tee-shirts that said....Fuck Oakland on the front. The price $10. We went into the parking lot and as we got out of the car you said, "Dad, I really want one of those shirts." My answer was, "I'm not about to drive all way back there" and you said, "give me the 10 and I'll run and be back in a flash." Since you were an extremely fast young man it seems like you did it in record time. I don't remember waiting very long for you to return. You waited until we got to our seats before you put the shirt on and to this day I'm not sure if you wore it throughout the entire game or not. All I know is the Dodgers fucked Oakland big time in that game and throughout the series that only last five games.
Coaching you and watching you play baseball over the next five years is easily one of the great memories of my life. It's a memory that is only tarnished by the fact that we can't physically chat about not only those moments but all the other moments we shared as Father and Son.
Watching you develop your baseball IQ was really enjoyable for me and to be honest I was usually coaching the team but you as an individual were the glue that held the team together.
I realize how talented you were as an artist and as a writer but I always understood that those two things would simply improve as you got older. I didn't know how far you could go in the baseball world because no one can predict the outcome of a 12, 13, 14 or 15 year old baseball player unless they have names like Bryce Harper and Clayton Kershaw. Most of the 750 players in the major leagues
get there through extreme hard work and predicting how much work an 18 year old wants to spend to improving their baseball skills is almost impossible.
But you were a natural and your motion was always correct and you never really tried that hard because the talent was just there. I think you were starting to realize what it might take but of course the Universe had another plan.
And since the mysteries of the Universe will always far out number the known realities I'm not unsure that you aren't appearing in this World Series as some explosive 23 year old stud.
It would make sense on so many levels....and I defy anyone to prove that reincarnation isn't a reality.
My awareness of physical reality and my belief in non-physical reality allow me to view the first Dodger World Series experience in 29 years in a
new
and
exciting
way
IT'S A QUANTUM EXPERIENCE AND I'M DIGGING EVERY SINGLE MOMENT
and every baseball game I've watched since your first year in T-Ball at the age of six has included thoughts of you
I'm just
once more
overwhelmed
by
the love
I have for the game of baseball
and
of course
that
is
all
because
of
you.
I love you son
and thanks for bringing the Dodgers back into the
big show.
I don't expect a victory but neither did you or I expect to see a limping number 23 approach the plate in the 9th inning with two outs trailing 4-3 on October 15th 1988 and create a moment that will live forever in the annals of baseball history.

Neo-Illumination #19
When I try to understand the essence of the Republican party I always seem to get to a point where there is one huge aspect that seems to be missing.
Understanding a group ideology isn't very easy to do so one must start with attempting to understand a single individual.
Understanding a single individuals actions can prove to be extremely hard...especially if those actions seems to be missing certain ingredients.
So therefore, while I dance around this problem, it becomes clear that trying to summarize Republican behavior is extremely difficult because something is missing.
AND once more I return to a Neo-Illumination that explains what might be missing.
NEO-ILLUMINATION #19
UTILIZE THE ESSENCE
OF
LOVE
IN ALL
OF
ITS POSSIBILITIES
AND
TRY
TO
SPEAK THE TRUTH
BASED ON
PRIORITIES
SOMEWHERE, SOMETIME, SOMEHOW
THE LOVE
WE ALL POSSESS
MUST
COME INTO PLAY
AND
START
TO
DOMINATE OUR
LIFE
STORIES
the Republican Party appears to have a limited capacity for stretching their personal emotional algorithms that allow them to include others not immediately attached to their own tribes.
Their priorities are limited to personal realities
and
if Neo-Illumination #19 has any reality then
truly what seems to be missing
is
a
wider and much broader
form
of
LOVE
or a strange interpretation of
priorities
The question that probably needs to be answered before the our species moves to the next stage of human evolution.
Are personal priorities more important than species priorities?
That might be the defining difference between the two main political parties in our country.....and it could apply to the global situations concerning both political and religious entities that seem so widely divided on so many different core values.
The more I study and learn about Quantum realities the more convinced I become that
political and religious solutions will not be solved by groups who don't look beyond their immediate and personal interests.
That's a HUGE
DUH!
I started out trying to understand the mind of the Republican Party and
ended up
with a bigger
issue.
Mind Jazz really is the perfect title for my blog and once more I must thank Jack Neworth of the Santa Monica Daily Press for coming up with that name 12 years ago.
And yes folks.....The DODGERS are back in the World Series.....and in the next few days I will explain why that is important
to
the Universe....and maybe not so important
to
you
and
you
and
you
but REALLY important to
YOU
and
YOU
and
especially
YOU!

Fake News Spin
Now that the President thinks NBC should lose their broadcasting rights because of reporting fake news I think it's time to remind people what fake news is.
Misdirection, turn aside, divert, deflect, draw away, avert, switch, sidetrack, branch off, distract, preoccupy, divaricate and of course the big one.....LIE....and yes, maybe hallucinate should be included.
These are simply a few words that describe why fake news is created. Of course often times fake news is created simply to increase readership or viewership.
Alex Jones is a prime example of someone who just does it for the publicity and then later ends up in court apologizing while in the meantime thousands of people have repeated his bullshit and urban legends are born.
Our President has used name calling and ridiculous allegations since he first started running for the office. I'm also going to guess that throughout his business career he has made up stuff to further his personal coffers. An extensive research into his business dealings will most likely result in many people not being a big fan....such as the people who enrolled in his pretend college.
Remember this is the guy who said he wrote a book who actually didn't write the book, Art of a Deal.
The only story that I wish was fake news
happened on November 9 2016
The newspaper headline read
TRUMP WINS ELECTION.
The entire first 9 months of this administration has been so weird
that fake news seems
normal.
So many ways to spin the truth and so many more ways to spin a lie.
It really does get confusing and explains why people don't pay attention and it really explains how someone like Donald Trump can get elected President of the United States.
The entire situation seems like a huge FAKE NEWS SPIN.
Ouch!

I'm pretty sure the guy heading our country is insane
And being sure means it's just time for some change of pace
And this will be the first of many...hopefully

I'm sure he makes some people happy and content but there's a missing ingredient.....
When our President gives an important speech, at an important location, as was the case yesterday at the United Nations, there are obviously millions of people in this country that say "BRAVO, LET IT RIP, TELL IT LIKE IT IS, SHOW THOSE BASTARDS THAT WE CAN'T BE PUSHED AROUND."
Imagine how well George Patton and President "Biff" would have bonded.
Let's get back to people who cheered his speech at the UN. Like I said there is a sizable amount of people who like everything he says and does, but the simple fact is THERE ARE MORE PEOPLE IN OUR COUNTRY WHO CAN'T STAND ANYTHING HE SAYS.
I can't speak for anyone but myself, but listening to "Biff" give a speech is like listening to a bad performance in a not very good movie directed by a first time director who just finished High School.
AND THE FACT IS....EVEN IF YOU LIKE THINGS HE SAYS, IN YOUR HEART YOU KNOW HE SHOULDN'T BE SAYING WHAT HE SAYS.
HE'S F**KING PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES AND HE SOUNDS LIKE THE DIPSHIT FROM NORTH KOREA.
HAS HE NEVER LOOKED UP THE WORD
DIGNIFIED?
And maybe that explains why he had a successful campaign.
Does he think his golden chairs and golden banisters and golden toilets are an acceptable sign of dignity?
I listen to him and think of people like Nero and the guy who ran the gas station outside of Tupelo, Mississippi in 1958.
(sorry Miss, but you've had some issues over the years....but you did give us Elvis so that warrants an apology)
Do his supporters care about dignity?
Perhaps they simply needed someone who doesn't process the concept of dignity.
THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES MUST HAVE DIGNITY
If that statement is wrong then I truly have been completely fooled by every single President in my life time.
Even Bush Jr. had a moral compass when it came to displaying dignity because his father was extremely dignified.
YOU CAN HAVE POLITICAL DIFFERENCES AND STILL RESPECT THE PERSON
IF
THEY
DISPLAY
DIGNITY
Quite often when I'm having a heated political confrontation with someone, either on line or in person, I completely lose any dignity that I might posses and within a short time the situation has been reduced to either rumble or I've failed to make the point that was intended.
But I'm not the leader of the most powerful country in the world.
WHAT IS PRESIDENT "BIFFS" POINT?
We had to listen to a year and a half of him telling us that America was not great anymore and that he would make "America Great Again."
Now he steps in front of the United Nations and reminds the world that we are the top of the food chain and we will do whatever we want anytime and anywhere we want.
That's what an asshole bully says to the skinny kid as he kicks his ass all over the school yard.
The difference between Donald J. Trump
and
Barack H. Obama
is
so
obvious
and
the
word
is
DIGNITY
Now one thing that really bothers me is that there is a political sense of decorum that generally resides at the highest office in our land and how other countries and other leaders react when that political decorum is absent........can be a problem.
If you operate a country that is being challenged on almost every level of modern day sociological and economic development and the biggest and the most secure country in the world sounds like a vigilante from a TV western in the late 50's...you just might say......F**K IT!
And one last thought.....if you have studied history and you run a country that is at odds with the US and eventually it leads to a major confrontation, then after we destroy you we will help you reconstruct your new future.
Check with Germany
Check with Japan
Hopefully there isn't some major history Professor who has the kid's ear in North Korea.
By the way have you noticed that
Kim Jong un
seems
to
also
lack
DIGNITY!

Since he's already running for 2020
The 2020 election has begun.
President "Biff" filed his reelection papers the day after he took office so it's time to get busy.
The best slogan I've heard so far for the other "team" is.......
NEVER TRUMP
It's obviously too late to reverse the last election, even though he seems to be trying his very best to make sure the first term doesn't run its course, so I'm thinking we should add a small word to the above phrase.
NEVER TRUMP again!
And we apply it to any type of person with any slight assemblage to "Biff."
This is one of the shortest articles I've ever written and I could go on and on but let's just allow the
NEVER TRUMP again!
slogan
sink
in
and
hopefully
take
hold.
