Comedy even if it's not that funny

I've written four complete feature film scripts and am 3/4 through a fifth one. I call them feature film scripts because that is their ultimate incarnation if everything could exist as it should..... in my perfect world.

In your perfect world I probably don't even exist....so my scripts are basically invisible.

In my perfect world I've already won numerous awards and am quite well respected among my peers.

What is missing in my perfect world is a comedy script.

I've decided to write a seriously screwed up loving romantic comedy.

See...already I'm being funny.

This should take awhile because I usually have to be in love and then lose that love in order to create my films.

I'll be taking a different approach to this script.

Wish me luck.

Big musical statement

Burlesque is the newest addition to the musical movie genre
and I'm here to tell you that it is
GREAT entertainment.

If you like musicals it is absolutely a must see.

Christina Aguilera could get nominated for her part. Whether the nomination comes from The Golden Globes, SAG or The Academy doesn't really matter.
She stuck the role and I walked out of the theater with the immediate thought of going back in and watching it again.

When a member of the studio audience applauds after a song, in the middle of the film, you realize that this is a special performance. (No it wasn't me)

Every number is well performed and after the dust settles on the closed stage door Cher might have had the best song.

But make no mistake the star of this movie is Ms. Aguilera.

Steve Antin, the director, also deserves special kudos. The sets and the lighting were perfect for the venue and he obviously went out of his way to enhance the star qualities of his performers.

Everybody I know....knows that I love musicals and Burlesque just moved into my top five musicals of all time.

I'll have to see it again because there's always the chance that I was simply starving for a new musical and that yearning might have given me a false positive on the emotional vortex within my mental tune chambers.

Maybe I'll even do it today. After all, USC doesn't play until 5.

A real Thanksgiving moment

From Associated Press

WELLINGTON, New Zealand – Three teens who have been missing in the South Pacific for 50 days — and were already eulogized in a memorial service — have been found alive by a New Zealand fishing boat.

The boys — two 15-year-olds and a 14-year-old — disappeared while attempting to row between two islands in the New Zealand territory of Tokelau in early October and were given up for dead after an extensive search involving New Zealand's air force.

Their craft had drifted 800 miles (1,300 kilometers) to a desolate part of the Pacific northeast of Fiji, when the crew of a tuna boat saw them frantically waving for help on Wednesday afternoon.

"All they could say was `thank you very much for stopping,'" Tai Fredricsen, first mate of the San Nikuna, said.

"In a physical sense, they look very physically depleted, but mentally ... very high," told New Zealand's National Radio on Thursday.

The boys, Samuel Pelesa and Filo Filo, both 15, and Edward Nasau, 14, will be taken to a hospital in the Fiji capital of Suva on Friday.

The rescue came not a moment too soon: Fredricsen said they had begun to drink sea water because it hadn't rained in the past few nights.

He said that the boys survived by catching fish and eating a seagull that had landed on their boat.

Fredricsen said the boys were dehydrated, sunburned and very thin, but otherwise seemed OK. The tunaboat's crew gave them small portions of fruit and fluids.

He said the boat's crew didn't normally travel through that part of the region, but was using the isolated sea route to shorten its return to New Zealand.

The boys come from the atoll of Atafu, one of three that comprises the tiny Tokelau island group where 1,500 people live.

Sometimes things work out......and the fact that New Zealand has no Thanksgiving does not diminish the thrill we get from learning about these three boys.

Sam, Filo and Eddie......

Not too many people get to hear a report about their memorial service.

Happy Thanksgiving

November 22 still stings

So he wasn't Abe Lincoln but he was our youthful knight in shinning armor and this date will always seem sad. Personal tragedies trump global moments so everything gets inserted in a certain perspective box when remembering sad moments.

I've been to Dallas many times on business but that city will always remain a strange place because of what happened on Nov 22 1963. A stigmatism rests on the 6th floor of a building that overlooks a grassy knoll.

The simple fact that the total truth has never been revealed makes the assassination of John Fitzgerald Kennedy one of the lowest points in American history if not the lowest.

With Lincoln we learned everything there was to know about who and how and why.

With JFK we have learned absolutely nothing. The back story on Lee Harvey Oswald is enough to make anyone question the facts.

There will come a time when we learn the truth but most likely it won't be in my lifetime.

It might not even be in your lifetime.

But your children's children will learn what happened and by then no one will even care.

Looking at today's newspaper and reading the news on Yahoo and Google it appears that no one cares....and it's only been 47 years.

Leajewel and other such babes are ousted by Disney

Excerpt from today's LA TIMES

Once upon a time, there was a studio in Burbank that spun classic fairy tales into silver-screen gold.

But now the curtain is falling on "princess movies," which have been a part of Disney Animation's heritage since the 1937 debut of its first feature film, "Snow White." The studio's Wednesday release of "Tangled," a contemporary retelling of the Rapunzel story, will be the last fairy tale produced by Disney's animation group for the foreseeable future.

As I print more copies of Leajewel and pass them around to various industry and non-industry people I am now faced with the Disney opinionated reality that nobody wants fairy tales anymore.

I think I'll call bellsh.t and tell Disney that fairy tales were not invented by Disney and fairy tales will not be ended by Disney.

A magical story is a magical story and as long as there are children on this planet there will always be a need to expand their imaginations with tales of a beautiful princess, a handsome prince, a mis-guided witch and various odd characters that help restore calm after a storm of evil has swept through the countryside.

Bite me Disney.

This would never have happened on Walt's watch.

Leajewel thinks I should relax and let things fall where they may.

Done.

So what's the antimatter.....dude?

From Wikipedia

In particle physics, antimatter is the extension of the concept of the antiparticle to matter, where antimatter is composed of antiparticles in the same way that normal matter is composed of particles. For example, a positron (the antiparticle of the electron) and an antiproton can form an antihydrogenatom in the same way that an electron and a proton form a normal matter hydrogen atom. Furthermore, mixing matter and antimatter can lead to the annihilation of both in the same way that mixing antiparticles and particles does, thus giving rise to high-energy photons (gamma rays) or other particle–antiparticle pairs.

There is considerable speculation as to why the observable universe is apparently almost entirely matter, whether there exist other places that are almost entirely antimatter instead, and what might be possible if antimatter could be harnessed. At this time, the apparent asymmetry of matter and antimatter in the visible universe is one of the greatest unsolved problems in physics. The process by which this asymmetry between particles and antiparticles developed is called baryogenesis.

At CERN they claim to have trapped 38 antithydrogen atoms.....for two-tenths of a second.

The Big Bang boys and girls say that equal amounts of matter and anti-mater were created at THE MOMENT but that anti-matter doesn't seem to be found in nature.

I just don't think they are looking in the right cupboard.

Anti-matter is absolutely everywhere in between everything that is anything.

Pretty simply don't you think?

Particle Physics is such a hoot....and Quantum Physics, when breed with Particle Physics gets the cuttest little baby physics.

I'm sure they will be naming the new baby physics pretty soon.

Maybe Roger or Bill or Frank or Sue or Nancy might be a good name for something so simple.

Physics that actually explains how and why the Universe exist.

Maybe just call it.........i physics so it could just be one more thing that Apple owns.

I'm going out to the promenade today to see if I can come face to face with some antimatter....

or find a face that matters

To be quite honest....when I see the kind of face that lights up my meter it makes the Universe seem understandable and harmonious......and it doesn't happen very often but it does happen and that's all

that

antimatters.

And by the way....Emma Watson is the new Grace Kelly

Maybe Republicans will take note

I'm not sure why Global Warming has become a partisan issue but the lines seem clearly divided.

If you think Global Warming is a true threat to the human experience.... than you are probably a democrat.

If you think Global Warming is a political device created by Al Gore to promote his movie..... than you are probably a Republican.

On Tuesday a group of 259 international asset managers, who are responsible for more than $15 TRILLION, called for all nations to combat climate change OR be confronted with economic problems that might be worst than the global recession of the last two years.

Their message was aimed at all the countries who will meet in two weeks at a United Nations conference to discuss climate change.

I think their message was also aimed at Republicans who now control the House and who have stated that Global Warming needs to be investigated along with Obama's policies regarding the problem.

Republicans do not seem to believe there is a problem.

Republicans therefore might be the problem.

Maybe they will pay attention to investors whose holdings account for one quarter of global capitalization.

Here's hoping.

Enlightened Enterprise

I'm always complaining about Corporruptions and how they repeatedly create more problems then they solve. I understand job creation but there must be some "soul awareness" involved or the process becomes counterproductive to the next stage of human evolution.

A friend of mine has written a book that demonstrates how corporations (enterprises) can improve their "soul" business and participate, with integrity, in the next stage.

Being conscientious and moving toward enlightenment does not appear to be a normal goal for large organizations but THE ENLIGHTENED ENTERPRISE shows that it's not only possible but that it might be mandatory if success is to be sustained.

Christian B. Ellis has a message to deliver and Corporate America should lead an international wake up call in showing how business can work properly and benefit all aspects of success other than just the bottom line.

Evolutionary changes are taking place and awareness of our soul experience should include business endeavors as well as personal grail searches.

Chris shows how that can happen and it's time for corporations to heed the call.

The book will be in stores this coming February. Chris will be doing a book signing at Diesel Bookstore in Malibu on December 12 at 1 PM.

The Milky Way is a Bubble Butt Galaxy

Two extreme large bubbles containing high-energy radiation have been detected by scientists.
These two bubbles are 25,000 light years across and appear to be on either side of our galaxy.

The numbers involved in this "observational detection" are staggering. 25,000 light years measures well beyond the scope of my hand held calculator. One light year is 5.88 TRILLION miles.

25,000 of those adds up to a lot of trillions.......

TRILLIONS

The size of these bubbles covers one half of the visible sky as seen from earth.

How these bubbles were detected is probably related to multiple math equations and gamma ray photographs from one of the various Space Telescopes.

A paper about the findings will be published in an upcoming issue of The Astrophysical Journal.

It's amazing to me that we can discover bubbles half of the size of our galaxy, located outside of our galaxy, but somehow figuring out how to stop the Cholera epidemic in Haiti is beyond our grasp.

I love all things discovered about the universe but would highly prefer to have negative situations on our planet resolved before trying to understand things we will never be able to alter.

Those bubbles might be caused by the massive Black Hole at the center of our universe and if that's the case then we are looking at two big BURPS.

I guess it's a little hard to say we better get out of the way when those bubbles burst.

How odd if they burst on December 21, 2012?

That would really piss me off......but then again what's one to do when one lives within a
Bubble Butt Galaxy..

Blame it on being TOO BIG and too ZEN

Please note the size of Zenyatta compared to Blame.....which turns out to be her only problem. They are going to have to find a stud the size of a Clydesdale if they want to breed her.

Not only is her physical size impressive.....her stature as a celebrity rivals Angelina. When they build her statue at Hollywood Park it will take more bronze than any horse statue ever constructed.

A large part of her running style is due to her tremendous size. It takes her 3/4 of a race to get untracked and then 19 out of 20 times she's managed to get to the finish line first.

Yesterday had she started one second sooner or had the race been one second longer....then we would not be looking at Blame.

Another aspect of her running style simply rests with the fact that she takes her sweet time to get interested in what she's doing. She's really like a lot of women I've known in my life. But once you've got her interest and she's fully involved in the project at hand...the result is legendary.

Zenyatta does not have to worry about being Horse of the Year because she is without doubt the greatest female race horse that has ever existed.....and I think that is quite enough. Actually Zenyatta doesn't have to worry about any of that nonsense. Right now she's about as concerned with setting the clocks back an hour as I am with wondering why I didn't do better on a third grade math quiz.

I hope nobody out there thinks Zenyatta feels like she let everybody down. I grew up around horses and when Zenyatta wakes up Sunday morning she will be wondering where her breakfast is......period.

The best thing about the Breeder's Cup Classic was the simple fact that nobody or no thing got hurt during the event. Horse racing is having attendance problems and had one of those great athletes stumbled or fallen down then it would have been another blow to the sport.

I wonder if the Moss family calls her Zen for short? I've never heard them talk about her as Zen.

I personally don't think they should retire her yet. She didn't start running until her fourth year and she can only have one foal a year anyway..... so simply charge more for her foals and let her run another year. And it's a crap shoot even if they bring Storm Cat out of pension and give him one more pop at the age of 27. Maybe Curlin should get on the horn and try to set up a dinner date for later next year.

She has easily been the best race horse story in many many many many years. In fact I can't remember a single race horse story that even comes close to rivaling Zenyatta. There are movies and there are highlights from the past but Zenyatta is a NOW experience and what else would one expect
from
a
true
ZEN
moment.

I would personally like to thank the Moss family for allowing her racing career to last as long as it did.

It was perfect and the race yesterday was perfect and there is no one to BLAME because there was no mistake and there was no failure.

It's horse racing and there can only be one winner......except in rare cases like the event we just witnessed yesterday under the legendary Twin Spires of Churchill Downs.

EVERYBODY WON!

Hard to make a dream become reality

Last night I had the ultimate artist dream....and while I'm now awake I can't help feeling that there's very little I can do to make it become my desired reality.

And thus lies the obvious thread which leads to a certain lack of confidence that prevents me from blowing my own artistic horn.

I have no lack of confidence in regards to creating my artwork but for some Catholic reason (who else can I blame it on) I have trouble in the self promotion arena.

Last night's dream was the Frank Capra film of my artistic life. It was a finished project that just kept delivering every hope and dream that I possess regarding my artistic endeavors.

Maybe if I reveal the dream in as much detail as possible then physical reality might take notice and allow a non-physical dream to become a physical truth.

Of course as I tell the story some things might get blurry because dreams are by nature a product of our subconscious.... and God only ( or only God) knows what's going on down in that subterranean arena of our existence.

BUT HERE'S AN AWAKENED INTERPRETATION

I was helping someone ( and who that was, seems vague) have a sale of various objects. It was a giant garage and yard sale but I had an area inside a small building with some of my artwork mixed in with other assorted items. The art was from various earlier periods of my life. There were no current examples of what I do (as in the picture shown above).

I had some large pieces and a few small pieces hanging on the wall and leaning against some cabinets. I went outside for a few minutes and two women and one man were walking around the yard, which seemed to be like a school yard. It was full of furniture and various objects that one would find at a large yard sale. One of the women was quite attractive ( it's my dream) and she was looking at me with a hint of curiosity as I spoke with her male friend. He seemed to be Charles in charge of the group and he started talking about artwork. I wasn't really paying attention because I had moved closer to the AFP ( attractive female person) and suddenly she and I were talking like we had known each other for years.

She asked what I did and I said I was an artist....which is the first step to art nirvana or the second step to ridicule and rejection.

Telling people that you are an artist while not generating an income from that occupation, reduces the occupation to a hobby which reduces an artist to a person who buys stuff from Michael's and clutters up his life. (That's why I shop at Blicks so at least I have that going for me)

I seemed nervous talking about my art and was much more interested in talking to her about......her. She kept moving me in the direction that she wanted but at the same time was acting like she really was personally interested in who I was.....and she liked that I was trying to learn more about her.

That part of the dream was quite memorable because we were growing closer and it felt extremely nice.

Her two friends came over to where we were standing and listened for a few seconds and then the man asked if I had any of my artwork at the sale. I took them inside the building where my stuff was and discovered nothing was where it should have been.....in fact I couldn't find any of my art. I kept looking around and then they started looking around and I was feeling very nervous and very confused....which really made the dream seem real. Then the man called me over to the side of the room and said that some paintings were hidden behind a big chalkboard. I walked over and lifted the board away from the wall and there were my pieces.
I looked around the room and wondered who would have done that and why. I pulled the pieces out and laid them in from of the chalkboard and the four of us stood there for a few seconds and then the man and the other woman walked away mumbling something that I couldn't hear. The women that I had shared a moment with told me that my colors were pleasant but she didn't see the story she was looking for. She leaned in and gave me a soft kiss on the mouth and said she would be back.

I stood there for a moment and looked at my old pieces of artwork and realized that I was not presenting the entire picture. I walked outside and the three of them were standing by a table when I walked up and said...."so you guys want to hear a story?" The man said, "that's exactly want they wanted to hear."

I told my puzzle story.

"On December 27, 1991 at 3 am I was having a dream. Jackson Pollock and I were sitting at big round oak table in a dinning room and we were both smoking cigarettes and he was drinking something in a glass. He seemed quite relaxed and friendly and he said the exact following words......

'Tim, I really like your color sense and I get the flow thing you are trying to achieve but if you really want to fuck with people you should make puzzles of my artwork.'

It woke me and sat me up.

I've only had two dreams in my life that sat me up and the other one is also a doozy but that's another story for another time.

The next day I went to my factory/office, which happened to be a family wholesale artwork business and made my first puzzle designed like a Jackson Pollock painting. I started a company called...ART IS A PUZZLE with the logo that said......BUT YOU ALREADY KNEW THAT and within four weeks had created around 100 puzzles. Each puzzle was an original and each puzzle had a custom box that matched the colors of the puzzle inside. Each puzzle was hand-signed with approximately 18-24 pieces and measured 11 x 14 inches. ART IS A PUZZLE was intended as a personalized gift that would sit on a coffee table and retail for around $59.00. A 18 to 22 pieces puzzle could take 30 to 90 minutes to complete depending on your puzzle solving ability. My son who was 13 at the time could do one in 15 to 20 minutes. My girl friend at the time took considerably longer.

My first appointment was with Sharper Image and I was well received and promised an order for all stores during the upcoming fall season.

But after a few months I decided that my puzzles needed to hang on the wall and by using sheet metal and magnet strips I was able to create large puzzles that I sold in galleries.....like the one you see over there.

I pointed to a wall where one of my puzzles was hanging and the man looked over and said......'are you telling me that picture is a puzzle?' I looked at the woman who had kissed me and said, 'that's not only a puzzle but it's the last one I did in my Puzzle Period."

She looked at me and said...."You had a puzzle period?" She then looked at her friends and said, "Sounds like we've found our story. why don't you tell him what we do." I walked over to her and quietly said, "that's not even close to the story that might break your heart." She leaned in toward me and gave me a another kiss on the cheek and said, "we've got plenty of time for that later."

The man started talking like a salesman and I had trouble following him but it sounded like a huge bunch of bullshit and I started feeling like they were trying to sell me something.

I stopped him and explained that all I had was a body of work covering the last 30 years with most of the work having been completed in the last ten years. I wasn't financially able to participate in whatever they were planning so all I had was what I've done and if that wasn't enough then there was nothing further for us to talk about. I explained that it would cost around $10,000 to have my current work framed and another $5000 to put on a proper show.

The man and the other woman simply started walking away and the woman who kissed me walked over and said...."I want to see all your work and I want to hear other stories that relate to your art. Those two people work for me at my gallery and the project they are working on is completely separate from what I normally do. So let's get started, but first I'm starving....is there anyplace around here to get a good breakfast."

I looked at her and said, I make the best breakfast in town."

I woke up and immediately realized that my living room, which is my studio, needs a serious reorganization....and then the dream just folded away like most dreams do, but this time I decided to capture it.

Perhaps capturing it will allow it to live and flourish in the physical reality. God only knows I can't seem to do it on my own.
