THIS IS THE SINGLE GREATEST COMEBACK IN SPORTS

IT'S OFFICIAL.

The JOSH HAMILTON story
is the single greatest comeback story in the history of professional sports.

We had to wait a few years to be sure because drug and alcohol problems usually do not go away....they just hide for awhile and then resurface.

He was the number one draft pick in 1999. He received a $200,000 dollar signing bonus. (This year's #1 pick, Bryce Haper, received a 9.9 million dollar contract)

Most high draft picks spend a few years in the minors. Young Mr. Hamilton traveled a different path.

Josh is 29 years old and from 2003 to 2006 he was not involved in any baseball activity.

His main activity was doing crack, drinking and getting tats.

To say that he was hanging with the wrong crowd might be an understatement. He did manage to get married a have a child during that period but it wasn't enough to make him stop doing things that would destroy his life.

We might never learn the actual truth about what made him change but on October 6 2005 he stopped drinking and doing drugs.

This year he won the American League batting championship with a .359 average.

Currently he is leading the Texas Rangers to a 3-1 lead over the New York Yankees and with one more victory the Rangers will be going to their first World Series.

The Yankees have won the World Series 27 times.

This potential defeat of the Yankees makes the comeback story even greater. Of course it's the Yankees so they can't be counted out, but if Texas does go to he World Series The Josh Hamilton Story will dominate the event.

IT SHOULD DOMINATE ANY EVENT THAT HE ATTENDS.

He now has three children and the same wife that watched him completely fall apart. Her name is Katie and there's a story that also needs to be told.

Apparently he had a short relapse in January of 2009 in the drinking area so the story still has it's bumps and bruises. He indicates that his sobriety is a day to day situation but currently his day to day situation involves smacking the New York Yankees all over the ballpark.

You will be reintroduced to The Josh Hamilton Story on a large scale if The Texas Rangers reach the World Series.

He could be the ultimate poster boy for anyone who thinks they can't stop doing things that destroy their lives.

His story is so amazing that I officially announce it the Greatest Comeback Story in the history of professional sports.

You will be hearing a lot more about Josh Hamilton over the next few weeks......if they can simply finish off the Yankees.

Nice story Josh......thanks and keep it together when the champagne starts flowing.
