Contrasts in style

Sunday's LA TIMES Opinion section contained side by side articles on two contrasting styles of behavior.

On page M4 was a story about Ralph Nader and on M5 was a story about Henry Kissinger.

In my adult lifetime I can't honestly think of two more contrasting personalities, especially on the political scene.

They have both played huge roles in the historical unfolding of American policies since the early 1960's.

I will admit that Henry has had a larger influence in areas that seem to garner more interest.

SUCH AS
WAR AND
MORE
WAR

I pointed out awhile ago that Henry had been visiting the White House on a weekly basis for the last year or so, but it seems that many people are still unaware that he is a regular ADVISOR to King George.

I wonder how much he charges for his services?

Independent Advisor to the President has to be a billable position, don't you think?

I'd love to see one of those invoices.

**************************************************************************

SERVICES RENDERED TO ADVISE ANOTHER PRESIDENT ON HOW TO COMPLETELY MIS-MANAGE A WAR

$3,000,000 AN HOUR

if invoice is not paid in 15 days a 1 and 1/2 percent late fee will be added on to bill.

Please mail all checks to private office located in the Nixon Library.

**************************************************************************

The other side to this story is that I would pay to hear Ralph Nader's opinion on what he thinks about Henry Kissinger being an advisor to King George.

And that's the point of Ralph deciding once more to run for President of the United States.

In the previous three attempts, as a Green Party Candidate, Ralph Nader might be the only person who made any sense.....which immediately guaranteed that he would receive 3 to 4 percent of the votes.

Making sense has never been a widely well received platform for a political agenda.

Making sense might be the most damaging platform ever designed for someone wanting to be President of the United States.

Ralph Nader knows he won't be elected President of the United States...but he also knows that someone
during the election process
has to
MAKE SENSE
on some level or the entire process
IS
DOOMED

THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE WAS CREATED SO THAT SOMEONE LIKE RALPH NADER
COULD
STAND UP
AND
BE
HEARD

The fact that only 3 or 4 percent of the voting public actually listens to him is another entire story, and shall be dealt with on another day.

I openly admit that in 2000 I was one of those people who voted with my heart and conscience and decided that making a statement was more important than who actually won the election.

OH, HOW WRONG CAN ONE BE!

I HAD NO IDEA

and then to make matters worse in 2004 I decided that voting with my heart and conscience achieved nothing, so I went with the Kerry/Edwards ticket, as a good party member, and suffered an even larger defeat.
At this point right now, in the most exciting Presential Election that our Country might ever enjoy, I fully and openly announce...
COME ON BOARD RALPH
PLEASE!
and the sooner the better
the process does not allow for a third party candidate to be involved in current debates but they should make an exception for Ralph.
HE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN BOTH PARTIES DEBATE FORUM.
RALPH NADER SHOULD BE ASKING THE QUESTIONS DURING BOTH PARTY DEBATES.
THAT WOULD BE A GREAT MODERN AMERICAN COMPROMISE
"The Green Party announced today that they would not be entering a candidate in the 2008 Presidential election because the primary candidate has agreed to act as moderator and primary questioner at all the debates....INCLUDING THE FINAL DEBATES BETWEEN THE TWO NOMINATED PARTY WINNERS."
Ralph was quoted as saying when the agreement was signed...."That's all I ever wanted to do....
........just ask the right questions."
The political arena is only as good as the questions asked....and Tony Blair pointed out in one of his last speeches before leaving office...that the questions being asked by media pundits
were
basically
NOT IMPORTANT
in regards to actual events taking place on the world stage.
WHETHER OR NOT YOU LIKE RALPH NADER IS NOT THE POINT
THE POINT IS
AMERICA NEEDS RALPH NADER
and if he would be allowed to address the candidates with his line of questioning than that would be enough.
IT COULD BE THE ULTIMATE POLITICAL REALITY SHOW
IT COULD SAVE NBC
but I highly doubt that GE would allow Ralph Nader inside a studio, let alone host his own show....and then there's also the other side of the coin.
Ralph would probably not allow GE to give him any type of financial remuneration.
BUT WHAT A WONDERFUL IDEA....and maybe this could be something for HBO, CSPAN AND CNN to pony up on and make happen.
IMAGINE
FROM MARCH TO NOVEMBER OF 2008.....ONCE A WEEK ON PRIME TIME, OR ANYTIME, TELEVISION
"NADER ASKS THE QUESTIONS"
great ratings
great show
COME ON HOLLYWOOD..MAKE IT HAPPEN.....
MR. SPIELBERG
THIS IS THE BIG ONE!
