Universe in and out

Both of these stories were reported on

Another example of the infamous inside vs outside dilemma….

Universe's first objects possibly seen
The observations, by NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope, were first reported on a preliminary basis in November 2005 in the journal Nature. A new analysis was announced Monday.

The mysterious objects are in clusters. If they are each stars, then the clusters might be the first mini-galaxies. And if so, each apparently has a mass that's less than a million suns. Our Milky Way, by contrast, holds the mass of about 100 billion suns and is thought to have been built up by mergers of smaller galaxies -- perhaps like those the astronomers now think they might be seeing.
The problem in making sense of it all lies with the fact that the observations are not clear-cut. The scientists had to remove light from foreground stars and galaxies, and then study fluctuations in what is a relatively diffuse light.
"Imagine trying to see fireworks at night from across a crowded city," Kashlinsky suggested. "If you could turn off the city lights, you might get a glimpse at the fireworks. We have shut down the lights of the universe to see the outlines of its first fireworks."
The researchers expect NASA's planned James Webb Space Telescope will be able to identify the nature of the newfound clusters.

GOD ONLY KNOWS HOW MUCH THESE TELESCOPES COST, BUT THEY AIN’T EVEN IN THE SAME BALLPARK AS THE COST OF THE MACHINE THAT APPEARS IN THE NEXT STORY.***************************************************************************************************************************

CNN NEWS
Subterranean secrets of the Universe
CNN) -- In a cosmic-sized cavern 100 meters beneath the French-Swiss border, scientists from around the globe are making final preparations for the largest experiment the world has ever seen in an attempt to unearth the origins of the Universe.
It is so powerful; it is capable of creating mini-black holes. The hope is that the collisions -- up to one billion per second -- will reproduce the conditions that were in existence immediately after the Big Bang some 10 billion years ago.
What the scientists hope to unearth is the "God particle" -- the nickname given to the Higgs boson -- the idea forwarded by Professor Peter Higgs a theoretical physicist at Edinburgh University.
The Higgs boson attempts to explain how particles acquire their mass and if it is found to exist, when the experiments are completed in the LHC, it would validate the so-called Standard Model of physics -- a framework devised to explain the nature of particles and their interactions.

APPARENTLY THIS MACHINE, called the CERN, COSTS 4.2 BILLION POUNDS…
Which converted to dollars comes to a nice round figure of……about $8,000,000,000.
It’s the Einstein vs. Quantum Physicist hoopla. One looking out and one looking in...
The one looking in…. is the one that really makes me nervous.
“It is so powerful that it is capable of creating mini-black holes.”

Mini-black holes!…..think about that for just a few minutes. And keep in mind that no one has any idea what a black hole is…or what it actually does…EXCEPT FOR ONE THING….

IT SUCKS MATTER AND LIGHT INTO ITS REALM….ITS CORE…ITS HOLE.

THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY CAN’T EVEN AGREE ON WHAT TO CALL THIS “THING.”

A black hole is where DM or DE exists.

Some scientists refer to it as Dark Matter and other scientists refer to it as Dark Energy. The fact that some high IQ knuckleheads, operating underground on the French/Swiss border, want to create mini-black holes, just simply freaks me out.
I can imagine the moment that a mini-black hole is created and suddenly the machine….just disappears.

One scientist looks at another and says. “So what’s the matter?” And the reply from the other scientist is, “Matter? You mean what’s the energy?” And they both stand there for one more second before being sucked into their newly created mini-black hole, (manufactured for the bargain price of $8 billion)…which then precedes to suck in Switzerland and France…followed closely there after by Spain, Italy, The Mediterranean Ocean, and the entire Middle East….followed soon by Africa and The Pacific Ocean and last, but surly not least…..you.

I, on the other hand, will have already departed the scene due to a cerebral hemorrhage caused by reading today that Jr. wants to add MORE TROOPS to Iraq…three days after meeting with The Pentagon. The fact that the Pentagon thinks we should add more troops makes perfect sense….That’s what they do. The fact that Jr. is listening to them and ignoring the civil war theorists…makes no sense.
Maybe we should regard Iraq with our old time colonial mindset….you know the one, where property is seized by a more civilized culture….and the inhabitants of that property are removed or eradicated. We simply open up Iraq as the new land grant area. Adventuress Americans, within 30 years, would have hundreds of golf courses, thousands of nice tract homes, a few really good outlet malls, Costco’s and Wall Marts and hundreds of beautiful new movie theaters with amphitheater seating.

Of course all of this becomes a moot point….because in November of 2008, some knucklehead geeks in Europe will crank up the CERN machine and within a short period of time a mini-black hole will be created and then……and then….and then…. and then …..truly….the “God Particle” will be uncovered…and the expression, “GOD ONLY KNOWS”…will become the most poignant quote ever recorded….and the last sound heard….

……..or the first sound in our newly created mini-black hole universe…where Jr. is not allowed to add anymore of anything.
