Facts in spite of what you might think

It's so interesting to think back eight years when our economy was literally in the toilet.  I mean it was spiraling down like right after a flush.  "In the tank" was a term being used quite freely and of course the Republican fan base was letting everyone know that the new guy in charge was only going to make matters worse.  In fact I recall hearing statements like...."America is doomed" and "the guy has no experience."  And then from the very first day in the White House the GOP members of the house and the senate made it quite clear that they had no intention of working with the new President and one prominent member was quoted (within the first few weeks) as saying "our only goal is to make this guy a one term President."

The economic situation was being classified as the worst financial crisis since 1929....mainly fueled by the housing market which was collapsing due to various reasons that most people to this day still don't understand....and if they have some understanding it's due to a few movies made over the last six years.
The Big Short might be the one studio film that explained the problem and its domestic take was only $70 million so maybe about 6 to 7 million people saw the movie.  It now plays on various cable channels and on-demand so that means another 10 million people.  I'm guessing that the amount of people who really understand what happened to the economy in 2008, might be around 10 million....keeping in mind that a large percentage of people who get their information from watching a movie don't really retain the information.  Especially the technical aspects. By the way, Inside Job was a much better explanation of what happened but nobody saw that($4.5 million domestic box office) film.
My guess is that 30 to 40% of the paying public go to a movie to see the movie stars.  That might sound overly fatalistic but it is what it is.  And there's a reason that an actor or an actress keeps appearing year after year in different roles.  People like familiar faces even if the part makes no sense as in Jack Reacher films starring little Tommy Cruise. Does anyone really believe that only one person on the planet can play Jack Sparrow or Jason Bourne?  We've already learned from George Clooney that anyone can play Batman.

One exception.....Michael Keaton is the only person who could have played Beetlejuice. (maybe Robin Williams)

Jonah Hill and Jason Segal are proof that anyone can be an actor and becoming a movie star is some type of weird serendipitous experience that has no rhyme or reason.

I acknowledge that the art of opinion has taken over this article but that's because I introduced movies to the equation and since one of my favorite things to do is sit in front of a really really big screen, in a dark room with exit signs on either side of the room, which are there for my safety, and which I believe could be dimmed considerably without causing any harm or panic to the audience, I shan't apologize for the digression.

Back on point.....

THE MEMBERS OF THE GOP CONTROLLED CONGRESS REFUSED TO ALLOW BARACK OBAMA TO IMPLEMENT AN INFRASTRUCTURE AGENDA.  HE TRIED A FEW TIMES AND WAS BLOCKED.

THEY WILL NOT BLOCK DONALD TRUMP'S INFRASTRUCTURE AGENDA AND
MILLIONS OF JOBS WILL BE CREATED.

DID THE GOP ELECTED OFFICIALS MAKE THAT DECISION HOPING THAT A REPUBLICAN WOULD WIN THE WHITE HOUSE IN 2012?

DID THEY STICK TO THAT DECISION DURING HIS SECOND TERM HOPING THAT A REPUBLICAN WOULD WIN THE WHITE HOUSE IN 2016?

THAT'S EIGHT YEARS OF PREVENTING MILLIONS OF JOBS SO THAT BARACK OBAMA WOULD NOT LOOK LIKE A HERO.

Let's drift back once more......

The hostility generated toward Barack Obama from the very beginning was appalling and it continued for his entire time in office, even as most aspects of the economy slowly recovered.  The only real problem with the economy had to do with the lost of manufacturing  and service jobs, of which neither started under Obama but continued, and will continue, as long as wages in other countries, remain low.
Increasing profit is the only reason companies move jobs.  The move can be from state to state or country to country depending on the size of the endeavor seeking to increase their profits.

LET'S JUST WATCH HOW QUICKLY THE GOP CONTROLLED HOUSE AND SENATE TRIES TO APPROVE A HUGE INFRASTRUCTURE BILL SENT DOWN FROM THE WHITE HOUSE SHORTLY AFTER JANUARY 20 2017.

IT WON'T BE BLOCKED BY DEMOCRATS FOR TWO REASONS.

1)NOT ENOUGH VOTES TO BLOCK

and much more importantly....

2) INFRASTRUCTURE IS A DEMOCRATIC CONCEPT.

The Tea Party members within the GOP might be a problem for infrastructure approval because their entire viewpoint on most matters is less government spending....but I'm sure the Donald can sweet talk them into climbing on board.  A few free rounds of golf, hotel stays and an occasional ride on the Trump jet will probably work wonders...after all the Trump jet won't be used as much unless of course he decides not to use Air Force 1.  Will he attempt to paint his name in front of The United States of America on Air Force One?   Just the fact that I'd bring up that question should make you nervous because your first response probably was...."He can't do that, can he?"

I'm pretty sure he thinks he can do whatever he wants.

Citizens of this already great country have to prevent him from doing whatever he wants.

The simple fact is.......
I won't soon forget how Barack Obama was treated by Republicans during a Presidency with no indictments at any level of his team and no personal scandals with anyone connected with his family or his friends.

I will use that memory to help make sure that Donald J. Trump is a one term President...and that is a fact.

From what I've been watching for the last 8 months.....I probably won't have to do much.

I think I've figured it out

I went to the beautiful Santa Monica main library on Wednesday November 9 seeking some reading material that would take my mind off the previous day's event.  I was moving  toward the new fiction section with the intention of finding a mindless modern dribble focused on some crazy political thriller where everything and everybody in government is corrupt except for the single hero, either male or female, but usually ex-CIA or ex-FBI or ex-Navy Seal male, who miraculously avoids every pitfall known to mankind and somehow saves the day and lives to star in the next book, to be released in six months.

Before I reached that part of the library I noticed a temporary section that had a card heading which read...."SCIENCE....librarian's recommendation."

There were approximately 40 books on top of a free standing bookcase, neatly leaning against easels, with perhaps another 100 books underneath on separate shelves.
Two titles literally dominated my vision.  The first one was called "Black Hole, How an idea abandoned by Newtonians, Hated by Einstein, and gambled on by Hawking became loved."

Having just experienced the 2016 Presidential election results I could think of no better diversion than diving into a recent book regarding Black Holes, of which I have an extreme interest because of "My Other God Particles" art show in 2014.  The CERN project in Geneva is responsible for the art I've done over the last three years and since both Theoretical and Experimental Particle Physics are the bases of that endeavor it simply makes sense that I would want to know more about the most elusive "creature" that the Universe has to offer.....THE BLACK HOLE.  I had recently decided to do some paintings of black holes, utilizing my special Strontium Aluminate paint so that also probably is the main reason the title caught my eye.

Sitting next to the Black Hole (by Marcia Bartusiak) was
MAGNIFICENT
PRINCIPIA
Exploring
Isaac
Newton's
Masterpiece
by
Colin Pask

I'm not about to tell you that I've always wanted to read Newton's Principia but I have always wondered what Isaac Newton might have been like and since the word exploring was in the title I figured this might be a good way to introduce myself to Professor Newton.  I also thought that since the events of the previous day were completely unreasonable and surreal that perhaps getting back to the basics {and what's more basic than gravity?} might help me figure out why things had gone so completely nuts and why 59 million Americans decided to put their faith and trust in a carnival barker, who changed his mind ABOUT EVERYTHING all the time and had no political experience on ANY LEVEL, and award him with the most important job on the planet.

SO SINCE THE ELECTION......
I've read the Black Hole book, which turns out to have been written in 2013.  There are more recent events like the discovery of Gravitational Waves by the LIGO project which apparently solidifies the existence of those giant but not giant matter suckers that either do or don't do what particle physicists and relativists think they do or don't do.

I'm still very confused but at least there's physical proof that they do exist....I think.

And that brings me to the book on Newton's Principia and how I've figured out what happened on November 8, 2016.

The problem is that I am mathematically challenged so equations, while extremely beautiful, mean nothing to me.  I need words and images....numbers, integers and symbols don't work for me even though I love looking at them....but while reading I stumbled upon something.

Giordano Bruno, a Dominican Friar, who was a mathematician, a poet, an astrologer and a philosopher decided to publicly reveal his opinions and findings.
He is remembered for his cosmological theories, which conceptually extended the Coperican model. He proposed that the stars were just distant suns surrounded by their own planets and suggested that these planets could even foster life of their own.  He also said that the universe is infinite and might have no celestial body at it's "center."

HE WAS BURNED AT THE STAKE
BY THE CATHOLIC CHURCH
IN THE YEAR
1600

In case it slipped your mind this is 2016 (that's only 416 years ago)

So using Newton's style of problem solving one simply has to deduce that there hasn't been ample time for large portions of the human race to develop enough brain power to recognize when someone completely tricks them into making a decision that literally makes no sense on any logical level....and also possibly places their lives and the lives of their children in jeopardy.

WE NEED MORE TIME AND MORE SCHOOLING.  HAVING MORE FAITH IN OURSELVES WOULD ALSO BE HELPFUL.

Hopefully there will come a time in the near future where someone won't be able to verbalize hateful falsities and scare people into making a decision that is only based on name recognition and celebrity status.

BY THE WAY.....this was the ultimate CELEBRITY APPRENTICE mindf**k moment and he pulled it off because we aren't smart enough....yet.

We, as a species, will eventually get there and hopefully his time in the White House won't damage the system beyond repair.

George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Abraham Lincoln, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Donald J. Trump.
FOREVER IN OUR HISTORY BOOKS

If that makes any sense....GOD HELP YOU and GOD HELP US ALL.

But like I said,  I think I figured it out.  We aren't stupid, we just aren't smart enough

YET.

We will get there!

Breathe in, Breathe out, breathe in, breathe out.......

It's been been 4 days since Donald "Biff" Trump rocked the political world and received the most electoral votes in the 2016 Presidential election.  Hillary accumulated more popular votes, by more than 400,000, but our system doesn't operate that way.

Second time in 16 years a Democrat has won the popular vote and lost the election.  Al Gore had 530,000 more votes than George W. Bush in 2000, when the Supreme halted a recount in Florida and declared GW the winner.

Al Gore was gracious in defeat.
Hillary has been gracious in defeat.

THEN WHY ALL THE PROTEST THIS TIME AND NOT IN 2000?

BECAUSE THE WINNER, THIS TIME, IMPLIED THAT THE ELECTION WAS RIGGED FOR HIS OPPONENT AND THAT HE WOULD NOT ACCEPT THE OUTCOME...."UNLESS HE WON."

The people on the other side of the Trump wall are simply giving him some of his own medicine......

and one more thing to keep in mind.

Many of the marching people, who are apparently quite upset, were Bernie people.  His "movement" and his "people" were asked to support Hillary after the primary...and they did and now they've received something so far away from what Bernie stood for, that their brains are fried.

Maybe this type of political result is what this country needs so that the gate can once again swing one way before it actually swings back the other way and stays open for everyone to get in.

I see a bright future.......there's just some very odd clouds in the way.

November 8 2016.....HISTORICAL, either way...but

A female winning the Presidency is a more important historical moment than a TV celebrity with a large bank account.

As kids we were told that anyone can grow up to be President.

The one truth we've learned from this election.

ANYONE CAN RUN FOR PRESIDENT.

Let's move along.

Michael Timothy McAlevey

Friday, November 4, 2016

Four days left......

Today is Friday November 4 2016 and next Tuesday this country will decide who and what The United States of America stands for.

I watched some of Mrs. Trump 3's speech yesterday and literally had trouble understanding some of her words.  I did note that she talked about how children need to not be hateful, or something to that affect, and my first thought was.....HAS SHE LISTENED TO HER HUSBAND AT ALL?

HIS ENTIRE CAMPAIGN HAS BEEN BASED ON NAME CALLING AND TELLING US HOW BAD PRESIDENT OBAMA IS AND THAT HILLARY IS JUST AN OBAMA CLONE.  TO SAY THAT HIS RHETORIC HAS BEEN HATEFUL IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT.

HE IS CONSTANTLY REMINDING THE AMERICAN PUBLIC ON HOW WEAK OUR MILITARY HAS BECOME.
(no one even comes close to matching our military)

I'm not going to list the rest of his statements because frankly I'm tired of hearing how bad America is when in truth....this is the only place most people seeking immigration want to live.

I'm basically shocked that the race is currently questionable in certain battleground states.

I've said all along that he can't get more than 45-50 million votes and that's not enough to win.
I'm noticing certain states are allowing Bernie Sanders write in votes and that could hurt Hillary.
The Utah guy seems to think he can win Utah and that would hurt Hillary.
If minorities don't turn out in large numbers that could hurt Hillary.
Women that support Trump are obviously watching a different program and that could hurt Hillary.
Wikileaks is obviously doing everything possible to hurt Hillary.
The FBI has suddenly involved themselves in this election.
The Clinton Conspiracy people are working overtime to hurt Hillary.

I HAVE TO BELIEVE THAT COMMON SENSE WILL PREVAIL AND THAT SOMEONE LIKE DONALD J. TRUMP WILL NOT BE ABLE SCARE THE AMERICAN VOTERS INTO SUPPORTING HIS TYPE OF DEMEANOR.

STOP FOR A SEC AND JUST IMAGINE HIS INAUGURAL ADDRESS ON JANUARY 20 2017.

That moment, in my mind, rivals the strangest Twilight Zone episode ever written.

THAT CAN'T BE
A REALITY
MOMENT
UNLESS
THIS
COUNTRY
HAS
GONE
BAD SHIT
CRAZY.

Next you are going to tell me that the Chicago Cubs won the World Series.

STOP IT!

That was quick.....

Last Thursday my post was a warning and then some pleasant photographs.
The next the day the FBI Director announced that some new e-mails were being looked at and that Hillary's situation might require more investigation.

The fact that Anthony Carlos Danger Weiner is once again part of the nightly news is quite depressing.

I realize that Hillary shows loyalty by allowing Huma Abedin to remain a close adviser but  it might have been a wise decision to simply ask her friend to find something else to do while she ran for President of the United States.  And that request should have been made the second that Mr. Weiner first showed his true colors.....or whatever else he showed.

Huma and Anthony were married in July 2010
In May of 2011 he used Twitter to expose himself.
In July of 2013 he used the name Carlos Danger and once more acted improperly
In August of 2016 he posted another questionable picture
AND
THEN
THE NEXT DAY
HUMA SAID THEY WERE SEPARATING.

WTF took her so long?  And why was Huma even allowed to be involved in advising Hillary when she first announced her candidacy on April 12 2015.

THE CARLOS DANGER MOMENT IN JULY OF 2013 WAS A BIG RED FLAG.....AND HUMA STUCK WITH CARLOS UNTIL AUGUST OF 2016

DIDN'T ANYONE IN THE CLINTON CAMPAIGN THINK THAT ANY ASSOCIATION WITH ANTHONY CARLOS DANGER WEINER
MIGHT
BE
DETRIMENTAL?

NO ONE SAID...."Hey Hillary maybe you should think twice about having Huma in your inner circle until after November 8 2016."

It's obvious that Hillary has shown that she can forgive and forget marital indiscretions but didn't she learn how those indiscretions almost ended the Clinton legacy?

I guess the problem here centers around the fact that Billy became so popular after he left the White House that they just figured nobody really cared about his flaws....and that same attitude might have surfaced when Huma started telling Hillary what Carlos Danger was up to and Hillary simply said...."oh it's ok the American people don't really care about sex scandals." And then she advised Huma to stand by her man through thick and thin...which she did until August of this year when Carlos once more couldn't stop being weird and goofy.

AND NOW THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN GETS A LIFT BECAUSE HILLARY DIDN'T HAVE THE FORE SITE TO ASK HER FRIEND, 16 MONTHS AGO,  TO TAKE A BREAK UNTIL AFTER THE ELECTION.

BAD JUDGMENT to be sure, but not something that should affect a Presidential race which comes down to choosing between what Democrats want for this country and what Republicans demand THAT THIS COUNTRY SHOULD BE.

REMEMBER ONE THING.....THE GOP PLATFORM SAYS

BUSINESS PRIORITIES
OUTWEIGH ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES

AND

If I hear Donald Trump and Mike Pence say one more time that our military has to be rebuild my head is going to explode.

The fact that Carlos Danger's Weiner is now part of the last week of the 2016 Presidential election just blows my mind.

we ALL need a break before ALL hell breaks loose

Two weeks left before the 2016 Presidential election and judging by past elections I'm pretty sure both sides have some epic closing "moments" in store for their opponents.

You might be asking yourself......"how could the previous 6 months of vitriol elements of this election get weirder and nastier?

I answer by saying one simple thing.   There are people on both sides just waiting until now to really get ugly, and the candidates either approve the gross onslaught or they say enough is enough.

WHICH OF THESE TWO CANDIDATES WILL SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH?

That's the same answer I have

so this posting will be a visual break and only beautiful things will appear.

THIS SHOULD BE THE FINAL STRAW.....NOT SURE I'VE EVER BEEN MORE PISSED OFF AT SOMETHING POLITICAL

Wallace: Mr. Trump, your reaction. Particularly on this issue of late term partial birth abortions.

Trump: Well I think it is terrible. If you go with what Hillary is saying, in the ninth month you can take baby and rip the baby out of the womb of the mother just prior to the birth of the baby. Now, you can say that that is okay and Hillary can say that that is okay, but it's not okay with me. Because based on what she is saying and based on where she's going and where she's been, you can take baby and rip the baby out of the womb. In the ninth month. On the final day. And that's not acceptable.

Clinton: Well that is not what happens in these cases. And using that kind of scare rhetoric is just terribly unfortunate. You should meet with some of the women I've met with. Women I've known over the course of my life. This is one of the worst possible choices that any woman and her family has to make. And I do not believe the government should be making it. You know, I've had the great honor of traveling across the world on behalf of our country. I've been to countries where governments either forced women to have abortions, like they used to do in China, or forced women to bear children like they used to do in Romania. And I can tell you the government has no business in the decisions that women make with their families in accordance with their faith, with medical advice. And I will stand up for that right.

Trump: And honestly, nobody has business doing what I just said. Doing that as late as one or two or three or four days prior to birth. Nobody has that.

READ THIS EXCHANGE AGAIN
AND
AGAIN

THIS INCREDIBLY STUPID MAN FIRST SAYS NINE MONTHS, of which there aren't any such incidents, and then he says one, two, three or four days prior to birth.

HE IS IMPLYING THAT HILLARY CLINTON SAYS IT IS OK TO HAVE AN ABORTION IN THE NINTH MONTH AND EVEN IN THE LAST 4 DAYS BEFORE BIRTH

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AN ABORTION IN THE NINTH MONTH, OR THE EIGHT MONTH FOR THAT MATTER....AND MOST LIKELY IN THE SEVENTH MONTH.

IF A PROCEDURE OCCURS IN THE LAST 3 MONTHS IT IS BECAUSE
SOMETHING
HORRIBLE
HAS
HAPPENED

EITHER TO THE FETUS OR TO THE MOTHER

AND THE SCARY PART ABOUT THE ABOVE EXCHANGE IS THAT THERE ARE ACTUALLY PEOPLE IN THE UNITED STATES THAT ARE WAKING UP THIS MORNING THINKING THAT HILLARY CLINTON SUPPORTS KILLING A BABY FOUR, THREE, TWO OR EVEN ONE DAY BEFORE IT IS BORN....AND THEY ARE THINKING THAT......BECAUSE DONALD J. TRUMP SAID IT.

THAT'S WHAT REALLY SCARES ME
AND
PISSES ME OFF.

AND THIS IDIOT WILL RECEIVE 40 MILLION PLUS VOTES ON NOVEMBER 8 2016 AND
THAT
REALLY
REALLY
PISSES ME OFF.

The fact that he will lose this election by 10 to 20 million votes makes me a little less angry.

THE FACT THAT HE WILL CONTINUE TO BE HEARD LONG AFTER THE ELECTION
GETS ME BACK UP ON THE PISSED OFF METER.

IF YOU KNOW ANYONE WHO IS VOTING FOR DONALD TRUMP YOU HAVE MADE SOME STRANGE CHOICES IN YOUR LIFETIME.

I KNOW MORE THAN A FEW AND THAT MEANS SOMETHING ABOUT MYSELF THAT I FIND HARD TO ACKNOWLEDGE.

Time to get serious

This is the period, following the last debate, that Donald said he was excited about "the gloves finally being removed" and "now he could really say what he's been wanting to say."

THINK ABOUT THAT FOR JUST A FEW MINUTES.

What negativity could he possible utter that he hasn't already expressed?

And then a few days ago he said Hillary should be drug tested.  Wasn't it just 3 weeks ago that people were asking if he was snorting coke because of all the sniffles?

His repeated verbiage about the election being rigged is quite interesting because not only is the national left wing media, and the FBI part of the conspiracy but now the GOP turncoats, that are moving away from him, have joined the rigging process along with a very long list of other riggers.

I think the Supreme Court needs to be involved to rig an election....hum, wait a sec......2000 Florida recount that was halted and Al Gore was denied the Presidency after receiving 400,000 more votes.....
I guess we've already seen a unique case of manipulating the electoral process.

Now that's truly professional rigging!

Ever day he says something that just baffles the mind.

On Saturday HE said, while talking about one of the latest women to come forward regarding his behavior, "She sure won't be my first choice."  And is he honestly that stupid to tell America that if she had been better looking she might have been his first choice to physically advance on her without her permission?

His egotism is off the charts and while I believe that anyone who enters politics usually has a healthy ego....there's truly something different about this case.

It seems he just likes to stand in front of crowds and that content and substance don't really matter....and if you say enough bad things about everything, including America, then there will always be a certain number of people who will follow you to the edge of the cliff.

I'm not going to use the word deplorable....but uninformed is not off limits.  I'm guessing that maybe 10 percent of his people can name the three branches of the government.  My friend Tom thinks it's probably more like 5%.

If Donald Trump wins Pennsylvania  I'll be totally shocked because that state has always possessed abundant quantities of common sense.  But I will admit that common sense doesn't seem to be a requirement of the current situation.

The hostile environment created by these two people is truly epic and yes Hillary still has questions to answer regarding the Clinton Foundation and it's involvement with foreign dignitaries while she was Secretary of State (which seems much more important than any e-mail scenario) when you compare that to the Trump persona the only good thing one can say about him is that he's rich....and as you've noticed over the years rich doesn't always relate to honorable behavior. I've seen pictures and video's of his living quarters and it's hard to tell the difference between his dwellings and some wacky middle eastern oil rich monarch.

I think it's really time to get serious and start talking to those people who you know are in the Trump camp.  Ask them important questions about how our government works....and then if they are over the age of 35 ask them who they've voted for in the past.  If they've never voted before than this vote is for a TV dude who they saw on the boob tube every Sunday for 10 years..... and they think know him personally because he fired Gary Busey.

It's always important to remember.........things could get really bad if someone without political experience suddenly has the reigns of the most powerful and successful country that has ever existed in civilization.

WE ARE THE GREATEST COUNTRY.....and we don't need some two-bit huckster trying to convince else otherwise.

I can already hear the bs coming out of his mouth after he loses the election.........and he'll probably have a new show called...."Watch Donald run for President."   There is a massive amount of content and all he needs is one hotshot editor....and then he might have his own station and just loop it 24/7.

The Trump Family Hour......will crush the Kardashians, The Housewifes of Beverly Hills and any other mindless reality show currently running.  And that's ok because all one will have to do.....is change the channel.

I keep pointing the remote at my cable box but he just won't go away.

November 8 can't get here soon enough.

I'm exhausted and there's still one more debate......omg!

Round two

The LA TIMES headline called it....

A CAUSTIC QUARREL

It turns out that 74% of the Trump supporters don't care what he said about women in 2005....and Donald called it "locker room" talk.  He was 60 at the time and I'm wondering what locker room a 60 year old spends time in?   Obviously one of his golf clubs......

The personal attacks consumed 70% of the debate.  Health care might have gotten the most time regarding issues.

The Sunday morning news shows, Meet The Press and Face the Nation, basically had the Donald either resigning or totally losing the election by a landslide so I was somewhat surprised by the polls later in the day that have him just a few points behind in key swing states.

Bill Clinton was on trial and Donald's references made me wonder why Hillary didn't bring up multiple marriages vs sticking with one partner through thick and thin.

Hillary might be a tough cookie but she doesn't seem to have the killer instinct.....oh wait, I forgot the Clinton's murder people who get in their way, so maybe she has another plan.

THE CONSPIRACY ANTI-CLINTON PEOPLE MIGHT BE CRAZIER THAN THE OBAMA BIRTHER NUTS.

Might be seems tame, don't you think?

I still can't believe Hillary doesn't give a proper explanation how ISIS stared.....and why she doesn't give statistical quotes on how crime has dropped in the last 40 years.

 http://www.disastercenter.com/crime/uscrime.htm

And once more why doesn't she state the statistics on our military spending vs the rest of the nations on the planet?

I'm giving the second round to Hillary because Donald should be listening to his parties leaders and say
"adios amigos!"
"see you later alligator"
"i'm playing like a tree and leaving."

How they would pick another candidate at this late date is something I would love to see......
Maybe Dick Cheney
Mitt
or how about
Dennis Miller?

This election is most definitely one for the ages....and I'm aging rather quickly....how about you?

One time chance to see VP

One of those those guys in last night's debate  will be Vice-President of The United States of America.

I think of Joe Biden and and it's really hard to picture someone else filling that role.

Anyone trying to defend Donald Trump seems slightly off center...even though Pence appears to be much calmer than his boss.

Kaine's job was to hammer Trump on everything he has said and he did just that, but failed to teach us a valuable lesson....like how ISIS got started because of the Iraqi army being disbanded in 2003 under those other guys in the White House.

The time table on a recovery from financial disaster of 2008 never gets discussed and 7 and 1/2 years later things do seem to be on the right path.  Housing, automobile sales, stock market and unemployment numbers all seem positive and Kaine seems too busy slamming Trump to point that out.

Kaine also choose not to state statistics on how much stronger our military is than any other 10 counties put together and how much more we spend than the next ten countries COMBINED.

Does the GOP really think coal is an answer for our future energy needs?  I'm pretty sure the use of coal will always be part of our energy program but renewable sources are the ultimate answer.

THE ENVIRONMENT WAS BASICALLY A NON-ISSUE

One side doesn't accept Climate Change as a reality
and the other side
doesn't
stress it enough....but at least mentions it.

NUCLEAR PROLIFERATION
AND
CLIMATE CHANGE are the main issues that need to be addressed.

WHICH PARTY REGARDS BOTH MATTERS AS IMPORTANT?

YOU DON'T GET ONLY ONE!

End of story!

And the winner was.......

Thank God for the DVR.....

Being able to pause the debate after 45 minutes and catch up some other recorded program....of equal importance....like Ballers on HBO.....allowed me to resume watching the rest of the "experience" later in the evening.

Was there an actual winner?

I'm fairly certain that neither candidate received any type of "crossover" to the other side support.

People who think Trump should be President still think he should be President and most likely anything said in a debate isn't going to change their minds.

The people that I'm curious about are the people that wonder IF he should be President.  Those people probably will decide this election.

A very large percentage of the American public believe America will continue to be America no matter who sits in the Oval Office....and if it's a total disaster then it's one term or maybe even shorter.  In other words those people are not really in fear of someone in the White House causing the United States of America to self destruct........BUT in this election Donald Trump has caught their attention.

HE MIGHT BE THE EGO-MANIAC THAT WOULD LEAD TO A VERY BAD OUTCOME AND THEY ARE WATCHING HIM VERY CLOSELY TO SEE IF ALL THE RUMORS ARE TRUE.

REMEMBER, ONLY 18 MILLION PEOPLE WATCHED HIS TV SHOW.......AND LAST NIGHT WAS THE LARGEST VIEWING NUMBERS EVER FOR A PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE....OVER 100 MILLION...SO I HAVE TO ASSUME THAT MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF PEOPLE ACTUALLY WATCHED HIM FOR THE FIRST TIME.

THE REPUBLICAN DEBATES GOT 25 MILLION

AND MRS. BILL CLINTON, EVEN WITH ALL THE E-MAIL CHAOS, IS A KNOWN ENTITY AND PEOPLE TUNING IN, PRETTY MUCH KNOW WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO GET WITH HER.

SO.....THE QUESTION TO ASK YOURSELF.....DID DONALD TRUMP LOOK AND ACT LIKE A PERSON THAT WILL STAND ON THE STEPS OF THE CAPITOL BUILDING ON JANUARY 20, 2017 AND GIVE AN INAUGURAL ADDRESS?

I PERSONALLY FIND THAT HARD TO IMAGINE.....

HOW ABOUT YOU?

Therefore I give the first round to HRC.

There were no TV debates in 1968 and 1972 and 1964.

THAT LAST LINE MIGHT BE THE MOST INTERESTING TIDBIT

WHY?

(my guess for 68 and 72 is because Tricky Dick got his ass handed to him in 60 by JFK and he wanted nothing to do with TV)
And in 64 everyone was still in shock and Johnson
was
a
landslide lock over Barry " Drop The Bomb Again" Goldwater
PREDICTION FOR TONIGHT'S
DEBATE

85 Million

and then I went out into the world and questioned about 20 people in the bank and in the market and I'm raising my number
to
105 million

Serious election time

The polls vary according to who is trying to blow smoke up our ass.

Someone did a poll in Enid, Oklahoma and they thought Hillary Clinton was killed in an e-mail accident while visiting Libya.

One poll in Bangor, Maine didn't get the Donald Trump joke and thought he was making a new TV show.

In Oxford, Mississippi they were pretty sure Bill Clinton was still President and that smoking cigs in BBQ restaurants was actually important for helping improve the flavor of the meat.  Half the people polled learned to smoke pot at Ole Miss.

A poll was taken just outside of El Paso and they thought JFK faked his death just to give Texas a bad name.

At a nursing home in Sarasota,Florida the polls taken indicated that they weren't sure if women were allowed to vote.

A pollster stumbled upon a group outside of Boulder, Colorado and they offered him some of their home grown and he hasn't been heard from since......the group thought the election had taken place in June and that Obama got elected to a third term.

Another pollster was working a small town east of Bakersfield, California and they weren't quite sure what the date was when 9/11 happened.

A poll was taken at MIT and everyone in the physics department was convinced that elections exist only in a parallel universe and even thinking about them was unhealthy.

The pollster who was working the streets of Detroit hasn't reported in since July.  Rumor is that he hooked up with Kid Rock and is now working on the Trump campaign as a hotel site scout.

Polls in the mountains of Arkansas indicated that Bill and Hillary were actually siblings and so what?

Multiple polls were taken in Native American, or First Nation, reservations, or whatever they call the land where they live and the last time a vote was taken Marlin Brando was elected President of the United States.

Every minority pollster working in Chicago was killed with in two days of asking questions.

They tried to take a poll of the maids at one of Donald Trump's hotels but nobody was a citizen.

Pollsters talked to the Marketing team that handles Donald Trumps Brand and they chose not to be interviewed but did say that Mr. Trump running for President was the best branding idea they ever had......and they plan on doing it for George Clooney in 2020 after Trump fires them on 60 Minutes the week after November 8th.

The Clinton Conspiracy Blogs were polled and they simply showed statistics on how the Clinton's had murdered 37 people since 1972.

One polling group went to the Nuclear Waste facility in New Mexico but didn't go through the gates because everything was glowing a very eerie green.

A pollster decided to visit Aleppo but discovered that it was now a land fill.  He thought Aleppo was in Iowa because he used to be a linebacker in the NFL.

They polled Hillary's High School and it was discovered that she was a bit on the shy side until her senior year when she convinced people to stop using her nickname...."Hammerin RodHam."

And then one of the major polling companies interviewed 25 million people and 98% thought Jill Stein owned an Eye-Clinic at UCLA and that Gary Johnson was a running back for the Miami Dolphins.

You do realize there is a valid reason that half the eligible voters in America don't usually vote.

And I don't think it's an IQ dealio....I just think a huge percentage of people in America don't give a flying f**k about anything other than what they are doing.  They like to watch TV after coming home from work and that explains how they even know who Donald Trump is........and the polls say that millions of those non-voters are going to vote this time and that they are going to vote for that funny guy with the toupee who says..."You're Fired."

Everything about this election makes very little sense....so adding some nonsense just seemed to make perfect sense.

Green Party platform needs to be read carefully

Jill Stein 2016 Platform

Our Power to the People Plan

Climate Action: Protecting Mother Earth and Humanity
  • Enact an emergency Green New Deal to turn the tide on climate change, revive the economy and make wars for oil obsolete. Initiate a WWII-scale national mobilization to halt climate change, the greatest threat to humanity in our history. Create 20 million jobs by transitioning to 100% clean renewable energy by 2030, and investing in public transit, sustainable agriculture, conservation and restoration of critical infrastructure, including ecosystems.
  • Implement a Just Transition that empowers those communities and workers most impacted by climate change and the transition to a green economy. Ensure that any worker displaced by the shift away from fossil fuels will receive full income and benefits as they transition to alternative work.
  • Enact energy democracy based on public, community and worker ownership of our energy system. Treat energy as a human right.
  • Redirect research funds from fossil fuels into renewable energy and conservation.  Build a nationwide smart electricity grid that can pool and store power from a diversity of renewable sources, giving the nation clean, democratically-controlled, energy.
  • End destructive energy extraction and associated infrastructure: fracking, tar sands, offshore drilling, oil trains, mountaintop removal, natural gas pipelines, and uranium mines. Halt any investment in fossil fuel infrastructure, including natural gas, and phase out all fossil fuel power plants. Phase out nuclear power and end nuclear subsidies.  End all subsidies for fossil fuels and impose a greenhouse gas fee / tax to charge polluters for the damage they have created.
  • Protect our public lands, water supplies, biological diversity, parks, and pollinators. Ban neonicotinoids and other pesticides that threaten the survival of bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.
  • Support a strong enforceable global climate treaty that limits global warming to no more than 1.5 degrees Celsius and provides just financial compensation to developing countries.
  • Label GMOs, and put a moratorium on GMOs and pesticides until they are proven safe.
  • Support organic and regenerative agriculture, permaculture, and sustainable forestry.
  • Protect the rights of future generations. Adopt the Precautionary Principle. When an activity poses threats of harm to human health or the environment, in the absence of objective scientific consensus that it is safe, precautionary measures should be taken. The proponent of an activity, rather than the public, should bear the burden of proof.
  • Invest in clean air, water, food  and soil for everyone. Clean up America.
  • Enact stronger environmental justice laws and measures to ensure that low-income and communities of color are not disproportionately impacted by harmful pollution and other negative environmental and health effects.
  • Support conversion to sustainable, nontoxic materials and the use of closed-loop, zero waste processes.

STANDING ROCK and one small question

http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/north-dakota-protesters-vow-stop-oil-pipeline-traversing-sioux-land-n644861

http://standingrock.org/history/

Destroying scared burial grounds for any reason seems wrong...but for the transportation of oil makes this story have a very bad vibe.

Like almost evil.....

I suggest we follow this story and try not to repeat horrible atrocities once more to the First Nations of America.

Once again....we need Marlin Brando.

Oh, and by the way......why does China let North Korea have NUKES?

Reading and Writing and making thoughts expand.

This is my 1,229 "article" on Mind Jazz and the fact that I decided  not to put a th after the number 1,229 slightly irks me.  I've read that it's redundant and unnecessary because how else can 1,229 be read without assuming that it's the 1,229th.

Those of you who do read Mind Jazz from time to time, obviously would not consider me to be anything close to a well respected member of the fourth estate. ( I have other skills that translate to the visual side of creation) but when it comes to writing I do assume that you recognize an ability to summarize issues and from time to time make you snicker or snort a slight spew of acceptance and perhaps even consider that once in awhile I push your thought process in a different direction than where it normally resides....or not.

I have a style that I consistently adhere to
and I use
that
style
for emphasis and
"fun" but mainly
emphasis.

How much fun this generates, within the confines of your brain, can truly only be registered IF you choose to share your thoughts and ideas with me.  Of course with my Aquarius nature....sometimes I get your feedback without you saying a word.  It's amazing how close together the words psychotic and psychic appear in the dictionary.

A few of you actually do let me know outloud from time to time......
and those few seem to be enough to guarantee that I will continue to make Mind Jazz a part of my life until I no longer
can remember how to put the letters together......

In truth we eventually all end up eyxpkqyi.......

Sometimes the letters put themselves together due to the electronic nature of the machine I am using....and what appears, quite often, surprises me.  Similar to talking without thinking.

Back in the early 70's I started using a Smith Corona Electric Typewriter and realized that letters simply started taking shape in formations that seem to make more sense than the non-electric typewriter I had been using.  Tesla had a handle on electricity.....electricity has a handle on me.

Oddly at the same time, my hand written journal entries started to improve and as I sit here explaining my "literary" efforts to you, I can look behind me and count 24 finished journals with 20 more in a case to my right.  The ones to my right are in the 10 x 12 size range while the ones behind me are considerably larger and include art as well as writing.

A few months ago I started printing copies of Mind Jazz "articles" but ran out of ink and decided that printing them would have to wait until my ship arrived.....and judging from the low tide that seems to be part of my f**ked up financial nature that ship  won't be docking anytime soon.  It does traverse back and forth on the horizon so I've got that going for me.

But like many things I do this opening was simply meant to be a diversion from the subject I originally wanted to write about.....
which is one of my favorite subjects
and favorite things to do.......
reading.

Since reading and writing go hand in hand  my brain decided to bring up writing first and then ease you into reading....and reading in a manner that seems to be fading much like the hope for political integrity....of which we currently seem to have less than any time in recent history.

READING WHILE ACTUALLY HOLDING A BOOK

Have I lost you?

Is your Kindle or e-reader sitting within five feet of you and demanding that you stop following what this nut is saying about
actual books made with paper
and tucked inside a
cover.

I love the physicality of  books and the reading part travels well beyond the term love.....it's more of a lifeline.

There are certain observations that I would like to share regarding contemporary styles and the actual ink-spillers who create the letters which allow books to become reality.

FICTION vs NON-FICTION
Contemporary vs Classical

Except for very rare occasions I have always preferred non-fiction because of the imagination needed to create....but that's just me.

Imagined dialogue by Elmore Leonard has always captivated me.

The literary talent of James Lee Burke simply has no peers in contemporary non-fiction literature.

Dean Koontz has developed into one of the best story tellers of our time and his place in history will only rise up the ladder of greatness.

For fun reading anything Clive Cussler  is associated with is a guaranteed positive experience...especially the Issac Bell series.

Every book written by James A. Michener is a must read for both historical and story telling excellence.

SIDE BAR

The book I just finished, which motivated this "article" is called
The Storied Life of A.J. Fikery by Gabrielle Zevin.
Highly recommended reading if you love books and still enjoy visiting bookstores.

Please rest assured that classic fictional writers should be visited at least once or twice a year and for me to list those writers would take way too much time......but if you haven't read The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings then you need to start right there.  The art of telling a story from imagination has never been better presented and J.R. Tolkien sits alone when it comes to defining fantasy.  It helps if you take an hallucinogenic and climb a mountain or two during the reading or just after finishing.
The more remote...the better.

And of course Rudyard Kipling, both stories and poems, should be required reading...PERIOD.
Charles Dickens to understand a time period and Edgar Allen Poe just to understand clouds in the mind.

By the way I had to listen to David Foster Wallace Infinite Jest instead of reading it just because.......and is it a great book?  My opinion is that it is a PIECE OF WORK.   Make up your own mind about what that means. It's funny how we just accept his suicide if we've experienced that book.

I would like to tell you that I've read James Joyce novels cover to cover but then I would be lying like everyone else on the planet.

After all is said and done.....If one were making a list of required reading for a 15 year old......I think my list would first start with everything Michener wrote.  With his genius for historical research and wonderful story telling reading would simply become part of that person's nature.

I've said it before and I'll say it one more time.......the one truth I've fully accepted regarding human beings is.....we love to tell a story......and then some of us love to read those stories and we do it to learn more about the human experience....so we can attempt to write about it in a manner that sometimes makes sense, or at the very least makes the thought process.......expand.

I've been trying for thought expansion for as long as I can remember.

Only you can tell if I'm achieving my goal.

End of Part one on Reading and Writing......
