ONE QUESTION AND ONE QUESTION ONLY

WHY HASN'T ANYONE DROPPED OUT OF THE RACE?

When you look at the list you have to consider that fund raising is the PRIMARY objective of each contestant (I won't call them candidates until The Donald drops out).

At this stage of the game you have to wonder WHY anyone would be giving money to anyone with 4% or less.......7% seems shaky, but Jeb is Jeb and Carly is....well Carly is Carly and since she is the only female on the GOP side I presume she just has to stay for as long as possible.  She's probably going for VP so no reason to hit the highway yet.

And I suspect that Christie also thinks the VP is possible so no reason for him to say adios.

The only answer that seems to make any sense is that each and everyone of the contestants regards themselves as the "Ultimate Eternal Optimist....put here on earth to save America."

EGOS THE SIZE OF INDIA CAN BE HARD TO CONTROL 
AND EVEN HARDER TO REDUCE
ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO PARTICIPATING IN THIS PARTICULAR TYPE OF CONTEST.

When parodies start taking shape it's pretty hard to reshape them into non-issues because they enter main stream media through means that people remember.....ie; Saturday Night Live, Late night talk shows, etc. etc........

An example of a runaway parody is Dr. Ben Carson and his apparent "sleepy time" personality.

The jokes are spreading fast. 
And unless he starts singing show tunes and doing an occasion Sam Kinison imitation.....he's
going to end up being a parody of himself.....which is not easy to do.

I know it's not possible but he seems to be on some very nice medication and since he is a doctor I would assume he has the best connections.

And since he and The Donald are basically tied at this point, maybe people like the mellow approach. And he's always standing next to DT on the stage so it's such an obvious contrast in personalities, that people might regard it as a super positive style.

It doesn't take much to appear calm and collected if you are standing next to The Donald.....even though I have to say DT appeared calmer in the last debate.

The Sunday morning news shows, like Meet the Press and Face The Nation, seem to always have pundits that think John Kasich is on the verge of climbing up the poll ladders.....and they've been saying that for two months now and yet......4%.

Jeb Bush supporters have no idea what's going on and they basically blame everything (low poll numbers) on Donald Trump.  I think their thoughts lean toward the concept that when the Ultimate Pretender drops out, then people will get real and jump on the Jeb bandwagon.....

......unfortunately that bandwagon might be a toy scooter by the time Donald decides he can't afford to be President because it doesn't pay enough.  By the way, has anyone told him that his assets would have to go into a blind trust, with his kids having total control?   I don't think DT likes to give up control of......ANYTHING.

I'm fairly certain that the Jeb Bush team doesn't have a clue regarding how the American people regard the last Bush President........the bottom line on that note is simple;  people like George W. Bush NOW THAT HE ISN'T PRESIDENT.

AND EVERY TIME DICK CHENEY SAYS ANYTHING.......IT HURTS JEB BUSH.  IT'S JUST AN ASSOCIATION PARADOX THAT WILL NEVER GO AWAY.

Rand Paul is rather interesting but he sounds like a character on a Seth MacFarland animation TV show.

Lindsay Graham wants to NUKE everybody and start all over.

Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz are rehearsing for the GOP ticket in 2020.

Mike Huckabee is just trying to increase his ratings for his TV show, and or be appointed Secretary of Religion (only Christians allowed)  by the next President.

Carly Fiorina makes me nervous when she starts talking and stating statistics and numbers.  After HP involvement I would think numbers would never be brought up.......but somehow, according to her,  she helped reestablish HP to it's original glory.

The two things they all have in common.....

Are those good enough reasons to be elected President of the United States?

I guess to be honest those are good enough reasons for 30 million people.....but not the other 60 million who actually determine the outcome.

I think it's time to do some crop thinning....the weeds are a bit thick, don't you agree. 

Eternal Optimism is the trade mark of a successful politician 
but POLLS matter, don't they?

Cold War and NOW

Having lived through the various Nuclear alarms since the discovery of what happens when human beings create weapons build from the altercation of splitting atoms, I have to admit that the current environment seems much more precarious than during previous alarms.

It's a numbers game.

In 1962 only two countries were involved in displaying strength from arsenals of nuclear weapons.
Today the following countries have Nuclear weapons
United States
Russia
United Kingdom
France
China
India
Pakistan
North Korea
Israel
And I'm not even counting the splinter states from Soviet break-up.......that's a number which appears impossible to determine.
And then there's Germany and Japan who can make them, and probably already have.
Of course I'm not counting asshole Warlord's  who might have "dirty bombs."

In 1962 the idea, or concept, of smaller rouge nations led by erratic dictators, having access to those kind of weapons, seemed quite unlikely.

Today.....the landscape of that idea has expanded dramatically.

The thought of Iran eventually having a nuclear weapon has sent the entire free world into a full on tizzy.

The reality of North Korea actually having Nuclear weapons doesn't seem to rank very high on the paranoid list.

Russia is solely responsible for the initial construction of North Korea's Nuclear program.

China seems to have allowed the ongoing continuation and expansion of their program.

THE BIGGEST FEAR I HAVE IS THAT CERTAIN PEOPLE THROUGHOUT THE WORLD LIKE TO USE THE FOLLOWING PHRASE...

"It's BIBLICAL......this entire current situation was predicted in the Bible"

I simply hope that none of those goofballs have access to any button that could initiate a global nightmare....but then I remember the adage that homo-sapiens love to use....."we are just human....no body is perfect."

IT'S THE GREAT GLOBAL ANSWER FOR ALL HUMAN F**K UPS.

The POPE was spot on when he recently said....."Making weapons for the sake of making money is WRONG."

BUT THAT'S A WRONG THAT WILL NOT BE CORRECTED ANYTIME SOON.

Defines the term "Rock and Roll"

I fully realize the numerous "tension" filled situations taking place around our beautiful planet but every once in awhile a "special entertainment" event takes place which allows for a "temporary" reprise from the negative and absurd.

What I truly notice is how many "minor" events seem to occur that we relish and place into the "special" category mainly because we need to "transfer" our focus....similar to the kudos we place on 250 hitters and pitchers with 3.50 ERA in baseball.

(random quotation words are just part of Mind Jazz "style".....deal with it)

We don't seem to demand excellence but we throw platitudes around like The Donald throws bullshit.

Certain music becomes more important.....mediocre movies are warmly received....casual everyday sporting events become seriously viewed.....semi-well prepared meals turn into highlight moments and so on and so on.

To summarize......

"We elevate the ordinary because we need more distractions from reality."

After reading the review in the LA TIMES about the recent AC/DC concert at Dodger Stadium I felt that the writer either doesn't know how to acknowledge greatness or simply doesn't really like Rock and Roll.  I'm guessing the critic is probably in his, or her, late 20's.

IT'S IMPORTANT TO MENTION THAT IT WASN'T A BAD REVIEW...IT JUST WASN'T AN ADEQUATE REVIEW.

So to somewhat offset that nonsensical effort on his,or her,  part I would like to share with you the type of review that 
AC/DC
deserves.

AC/DC CONCERT.........NOTHING COMPARES!!!!!!!

Since 1976 Angus Young has led the group known as AC/DC.  Various members of the band have come and gone, one completely and another who allegedly thinks it's OK to hire contract killers to solve personal problems and one to dementia.

The fact is......ANGUS YOUNG IS THE BAND.    The guitar riffs sound like nothing else in the music business.  Brian Johnson is the lead singer and he delivers the vocals with strength and vitality...but if Angus stops....there is no AC/DC.

There have been quite a few MAJOR influences on rock and roll since the beginning of the genre.....but HARD Rock and Roll only has a few.

PLEASE NOTE THAT EVERY PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL GAME PLAYED ON SUNDAY HAS MULTIPLE AC/DC SONGS.

AC/DC has never been invited (as far as I know) to play at the Super Bowl and more of their music is played than anyone....

The main reason the NFL plays their songs is because their hard rock and roll has rhythm that one doesn't normally hear when listening to that kind of music.

TRULY....THEY HAVE THEIR OWN KIND OF MUSIC.

WE HAVE TO CALL IT ROCK AND ROLL 
BUT I THINK IT LIVES IN IT'S OWN UNIVERSE.

THERE IS NOTHING LIKE AN AC/DC CONCERT ......and most likely there never will be.

There is nobody like the Beatles
There is nobody like the Stones
There is nobody like Led Zeppelin

The fact that two of those groups are still performing puts them in the Vin Scully league of
"Unbelievable Longevity with EXTREME excellence"

IT'S A SMALL LEAGUE BUT IT'S A GREAT LEAGUE

To say that I feel lucky, that in the year 2015 I was able to attend another one of their shows, is an understatement.........
....and duly note this fact......Angus Young is a better guitar player now then he was when he was 35 and when he was 35 he was GREAT.

I sincerely hope that in four years I'll have another opportunity to witness a Rock and Roll show that defines the term.

The big difference for me personally is.......... I do a lot more chair dancing then in the past.

Thanks boys for another magical night.   Dodger Stadium has never been louder (except for the Kirk Gibson HR in 1988) .  Hope to see you back in a few years.

And by the way......this is the third time that my friend Mike and I have seen them play....and we haven't aged a bit.....(we've looked just like this 20 years ago when we went to the Forum)

I guess delusion is a part of loving AC/DC.......delusions seem to be rampant on Planet Earth.

Who EXACTLY are we suppose to be fighting?

Let's begin this "exercise" in Syria.

Before I start I have to admit to being totally confused so pardon me if I seem a tad bit ill informed.
I read the paper, search on line and watch various news shows including BBC but that doesn't seem to clear up the issue.

Back to Syria.....

We know that ISIL,ISIS or The Islamic State has been "acquiring" land in both Syria and Iraq for the last year or so.  How they keep doing this with the coalition dropping over 5000 bombs just doesn't seem possible.

IRAQ appears to be most occupied territory, which makes sense because the training that we did before leaving just didn't do the job.  The Iraqi military obviously sucks big time.  

 BY THE WAY.......
 A few facts in case you've either forgotten or didn't ever care.
 ISIS is a Sunni group
 Saddam Hussein was Sunni
 Saudi Arabia is 85% Sunni
 Iraq is 65% Shi'a 
 Syria is 75% Sunni
 Iran is 95% Shi'a
 Russia is 75% Russian Orthodox

 And at this point hopefully you are saying....RUSSIA...what they hell does Russia have to do with any of this bulls**t?

WELL....APPARENTLY THEY HAVE A LOT TO DO WITH THIS BULLS**T BECAUSE THEY ARE SUPPLYING SYRIAN PRESIDENT ASSAD WITH WEAPONS AND ADVICE.

WEAPONS MATTER MORE THAN ADVICE IN CASE YOU WERE WONDERING.

Let's calmly slip back into ISIS territory for a sec......is IRONIC the right word when thinking about our trying to stop a radical Sunni faction of Islam after eliminating a Sunni leader in 2003.

ARE WE STILL FIGHTING THE SAME BATTLE?

ARE WE HELPING ASSAD TRY TO STOP ISIS?
That can't be possible because we hate Assad.

We all know that he is attempting to bring Russia back to it's glory days.....whatever or whenever that was actually escapes me....but he does have a resurrection agenda for the United Soviet Socialist Republic.....and although a free enterprise system appears to be the current economic state of affairs...that could change in a heartbeat.

If it looks like a duck and acts like a duck and taste like a duck then it's probably not a chicken.....or something like that.

What appears obvious at this time in our recorded history is the art of deception.

WE DON'T KNOW WHAT ANY OF THESE PEOPLE ARE TRULY THINKING.......

IF YOU LOOK BACK AT THE MAP AND NOTICE WHERE ISIS IS MOVING YOU WILL SEE THAT SAUDI ARABIA CANNOT IGNORE THIS SITUATION.

The relationship between the United States and Saudi Arabia might be the most confusing one of all.

17 Saudi Arabian nationals were involved in the 9/11 attack and we keep selling them more and more military toys.

I'm not going to bring up all the Bin Laden linage but all that information just makes the relationship with them more confusing.

Remember I did start this all by admitting to being confused....and now I've probably confused you more than you already were.

At least we have baseball and college football.....thank God for small favors.

I've previously written about the time I saw Steve Martin in 1974 at The Boarding House in SF.  250 people in the small room.  Went back 3 or 4 nights in row taking different people to witness the experience.

I called everybody I knew who had a phone and a few people that didn't need a phone to communicate....(remember it was 1974 and we had different channels open at the time).

I obviously was not surprised when Steve became a giant in the industry.

I don't usually use MIND JAZZ to promote other people but this woman deserves a much wider audience.

Four sentences in a row starting with I means narcissism is quite present.....I think.

She should have replaced Jon Stewart on Comedy Central.

Francesa Fiorentini is soon to be an household name.....unless she gets banished to Branson, Mo.

After watching a few of her pieces......imagine her in Branson and then imagine the riots.

Being truthful, informed and funny at the same time can result in super high reception and super ugly rejection.

(I realize most of her videos are from 2011 to 2014 and that she does current Twitter post but I have to assume she's taken some time off for important personal things)

Once she starts making new videos I think it's going to be very interesting to watch her progress.

I would love to hear how anyone thinks this is NOT the best road to travel.....

IT SEEMS CLEAR THAT THIS DEAL IS SUPPORTED BY EVERYONE EXCEPT THE GOP AND BENJAMIN NETANYAHU.

IT ALSO APPEARS THAT THIS IS ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE STOP OBAMA NO MATTER WHAT HE WANTS MOMENTS IN THE GOP SECTION OF CONGRESS.

CHINA, RUSSIA, GERMANY, FRANCE, BRITAIN AND THE US HAVE BEEN WORKING ON THIS DEAL FOR TWO YEARS.

I just think somewhere along the line that an effort of this type must be respected.... and the amount of money and support we have given Israel over the last 50 years should count for something.

WE'VE GOT ISRAEL'S BACK AND TRYING TO CREATE SOME TYPE OF SOLUTION IN THE MIDDLE EAST CAN'T ALWAYS ONLY INCLUDE ISRAEL'S EVERY WISH AND DEMAND.

WE AREN'T TELLING ISRAEL TO F**k OFF.......WE ARE JUST TELLING THEM TO TRUST THE WORK THAT HAS BEEN PUT IN BY SIX COUNTRIES....AND APPROVED BY THE ENTIRE SECURITY COUNCIL OF THE UNITED NATIONS.

THE MORE I LOOK INTO THIS MATTER THE MORE I SIMPLY THINK THE GOP JUST REFUSES TO ALLOW PRESIDENT OBAMA ANY SATISFACTION, ON ANY ISSUE, THAT MIGHT LATER REFLECT POSITIVELY ON HIS LEGACY.

And sadly I  feel the animosity goes beyond a Democrat vs Republican issue.

This might be one of those moments in history that warrants an e-mail or a phone call to your elected official in the House and the Senate.

Common sense appears to be lacking in the GOP and I think it's very strange that not one Republican has come out in favor of this deal.  There are major players in Israel who are saying this is the best deal available, so something is better than nothing.....and yet not one GOP representative has come forward to say.......yes.

HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?

This is beyond unacceptable

Khaled al-As'ad, an 82 year old professor and one of the most respected antiquity experts in the world, was beheaded by ISIS this week and his body was hung in the  town of Palmyra that he has fought to help preserve.

THIS SHOULD BE A WORLD COURT ISSUE.

THERE SHOULD BE A WARRANT ISSUED FOR THE ARREST OF ANYONE INVOLVED IN THIS BRUTAL ACT....AND THAT WOULD SEEM TO BE ANYONE WHO FIGHTS FOR ISIS...OR IS...OR WHATEVER THEY WANT TO CALL THEIR  GROUP.

THE DESTRUCTION OF ANTIQUITIES FROM 300 AND 200 AND 100 BC IS UNACCEPTABLE....and there doesn't seem to be very much coverage in the media.

THE KILLING OF SOMEONE WHO TRIES TO STOP THIS NONSENSE IS A CRIMINAL ACTION THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY THE UNITED NATIONS.

Calling anyone an apostate because they don't follow your religious viewpoint is completely insane....because once that term is applied, than death is the sentence.

You might not remember this but Damascus is the oldest inhabited city in the world......and it sits 100 miles from the northern border of Israel.

ISIS is a Salafi Jihadist Extreme militant group which is part of the Sunni faction of the Islamic faith.

The historical town of Palmyra is located in the central region of Syria and it would seem that perhaps that region should be the final resting place for ISIS.

President Assad either is part of ISIS or he doesn't have the resources to stop them.  If the second reason is the main reason then THE COALITION needs to step it up and step it up today.

THE UNITED STATES CANNOT BE THE ONLY POWER WHO UNDERSTANDS HOW ISIS CAN BE STOPPED.

SAUDI ARABIA SHOULD BE THE LEADER IN ANY MILITARY ACTION BUT THE COUNTRY IS 85% SUNNI MUSLIM......and keep in mind that are considered a strong ally of the US.

As ISIS gets closer to the Israeli border....s..t will hit the fan.  The Coalition needs to make sure that doesn't happen.

The beheading of  Khaled al-As'ad could be remembered as a turning point. 

WHAT HAPPENS FROM THIS POINT ON IS ANY ONE'S GUESS.

I'm not about to say that the stock market issues taking place this week (Dow drops 1000 points) have anything to do with one professor's brutal killing but the Universe is connected in many mysterious ways and one thing I'm sure of....ISIS IS NOT THE ANSWER TO PEACE AND HARMONY.....AND THEY NEED TO BE STOPPED.

PRESIDENT OBAMA NEEDS TO TAKE A MORE ACTIVE ROLE IN CONDEMNING THEIR BEHAVIOR....ALONG WITH ANY LEADER WHO BELIEVES IN JUSTICE AND SENSIBILITY.

UNFORTUNATELY THAT LIST MIGHT BE TOO SHORT....and once again Wyatt Earp, better known as The United States of America, needs to lead the way.
