Beatitudes of Women

was created on May 17 2010.

The creation was truly a serendipitous synergetic experience generated through the minds of two long time friends. Thomas Joseph Sullivan commissioned his friend Michael Timothy McAlevey to create a piece of artwork with the original Beatitudes as the center piece. The artwork was to be presented to Tom’s sister Pat, who had made the incredible decision to be ordained a Catholic priest.

While finishing the original Beatitudes, Michael questioned the 9^th Beatitude and discovered he wasn’t the first to have that stumbling reaction. He decided that the 9^th one should be specifically dedicated to women and called Tom with the idea.

Five hours later Tom had created The Beatitudes of Women.

The artwork on each piece is original and the wood is specially designed and created for Hiromi Paper International

Blessed are the inquisitive women

for they open new possibilities

Blessed are the indomitable women

for theirs is the respect of the ages

Blessed are the valiant women

for their reward is glory in heaven

Blessed are the sustaining women

for theirs is the gratitude of God

And, in perpetuity, blessed are all women

for they nurture human progress
