WRONG AND HAPPY ABOUT BEING WRONG

18 months ago after Barack started his quest to be President...I wrote an article telling him to change his name to Barack Edward Russell....or something like that...I think I even suggested getting rid of Barack and replacing it with Ben. I flat out stated that America would never vote for someone whose named sounded like Osama and once people found out his middle name was Hussein, he would be toast. It was early enough in the campaign and nobody knew how to pronounce his name anyway... so a name change done early enough would not be a problem.

I also wasn't convinced that America would vote for an African American, even if he was only half African American but I don't think I told him to go the Michael Jackson route of skin bleaching.
Somewhere along the line things are what they are and nothing one can do can change that tune.

I WAS SO WRONG
AND
NOW
I AM
SO
HAPPY
that I was wrong.

And this is precisely why his Presidency has tremendous potential. The American people, in their new found generous and loving behavior, will now start to feel better about themselves.
Most people aren't even aware of their new found behavior but it will start to take shape as Barack starts addressing situations. He already got his name associated with Climate Change and he's not even in the White House. Knowing someone with power is now starting to address Global Warming is very encouraging....because everybody now knows that it is beyond the theory stage....it's happening and it needs to addressed.

I hope he mentions Colony Collapse Disorder soon.

Barack Obama's job is to be the head coach. The ability to give good speeches is what motivates the team to perform. There are so many aspects of the current economic crisis. First and foremost people have to feel good about themselves....and it also helps if people trust the people in power positions. Actions follow trust.

TRUST, at this point in time, might be the hardest factor to establish.

HOPE
WE'VE GOT IN SPADES

TRUST
WE AREN'T QUITE SURE IF WE CAN TRUST ANYBODY TO MAKE THE RIGHT DECISIONS.

CHANGE
is probably not going to happen along the lines that some people think...after all it's still a two party system that remains in power and neither of them have any plans on relinquishing that power to a third entity.

They don't mind sharing it with each other but a third choice is out of the question
.

Certain aspects of Capitalism are being questioned. Greed being the primary concern of a free market system.

REGULATIONS MUST BE IN PLACE WHEN PEOPLE HAVE SHOWN A TENDENCY TO RUN AMOK.

Regulations are known as laws when it comes to civil action. Why can't there be laws in place to limit the amount of greed being displayed but corporate and legislative gluttonous behavior.

DEREGULATION means that everybody involved can be trusted to do the right thing and conduct their business in a manner that benefits the majority of people using their particular service.

I'm not convinced that we are close to that type of responsible behavior but then again I never thought Barack Obama would become President of the United States.

So happy to be so wrong.
