5 Bedrooms 2 Baths BIG YARD...$100 BILLION

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/7730799.stm

The Space Shuttle Endeavor blasted off last night in a mission that could be referred to as the UFU.........ULTIMATE FIXER UPPER.

The crew is adding two new bedrooms and a bathroom to the International Space Station...which means the station will have five bedrooms and two baths.

Total cost for this 5 bedroom 2 bath location....and it truly is a location, location, location situation....total cost $100 Billion dollars.

BUT PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THE VIEWS ARE SPECTACULAR AND OUT OF THIS WORLD....

and if you are looking for some privacy from neighbors...this is the place to be.

One of the interesting sidebars to this story is the
REGENERATIVE ECLSS SYSTEM....which costs $250 Million and is a water treatment apparatus about the size of a closet.

This water treatment system is capable of recycling sweat and urine into drinking water and oxygen.

Which brings me to the question of DESALINATION.

WHY CAN'T WATER FOR CROPS AND IRRIGATION COME FROM THE OCEAN?

DOESN'T DESALINATION WORK....AND AREN'T THERE ALREADY DESALINATION PLANTS OPERATING?
Why do I have to hear that the next great war will not be fought because of oil but because of WATER?
DESALINATION PLANTS WOULD END THAT BULLSHIT EXCUSE FOR HAVING ANOTHER WAR.
I'm sure the plants have to be fairly expensive but if we can spend $250 million to turn sweat and pee into drinking water for a 5 bedroom 2 bath facility in space...then we can probably figure out how to water the crops of the world by utilizing the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans.

I love the Space Shuttle and I love the Space Station but I really love it when human beings put priorties in their proper sequence.

And to be honest....I'm not sure I see enough of that behavior on a regular basis.

But then again...that might just be me.
