OCTOBER 15th

Yesterday was a big day for many people in America...especially a big day in a very important swing state.

PENNSYLVANIA IS ROCKING TODAY....and it has nothing to do with the Election but maybe in some strange way it does.

IF OBAMA CAN CARRY PENNSYLVANIA THEN THAT WILL TAKE THE STING OUT OF THE DODGERS LOSING TO THE PHILLIE'S.

I'M FAIRLY REALISTIC...(huh)...and I would rather see a Democrat in the White House than have the Dodgers in the World Series.

I'm serious.

A Democrat in the White House means more to this country than anything that could happen in the world of sports.

The problem is that there are about 100 million people who don't agree with me and would much rather see their sports team win the big prize...whether it be Dallas in football or Boston in baseball or Los Angeles in basketball or hockey wherever they play it and so on and so on....

POLITICS at this stage of our history is extremely important if not totally broken. But it's the only game in town and having a two party system means that half the population doesn't give a crap...which is evident by the voter turnout year after year after year.

THIS ELECTION WILL PROBABLY SEE THE HIGHEST VOTER TURNOUT IN THE HISTORY OF OUR COUNTRY.

I ACTUALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PERCENTAGE OF VOTERS WAS DURING THE EARLY 1800s BUT I'D BE SURPRISED TO LEARN THAT IT WAS MORE THAN 50 PERCENT.

I'll look it up and get back to you later.

Anyway...this election will be a record breaker as far as turn out... and right now I'm not confident with a 10 to 12 point lead.

People lie about race and gender decisions and that's the fact....but the economy is on such shaky grounds that maybe the common sense decision to change political parties at the top will simply outweigh all the personal stuff that seems to be involved.

I sure hope so....for the sake of all Americans and perhaps all humans on the planet.

COMMON SENSE says we need a change at the top

COMMON SENSE

Dear GOD,
Please allow for COMMON SENSE to be the element that matters most to the American people on November 4, 2008.
PLEASE
PLEASE
PLEASE

and one more little thing...maybe in 2009 the Dodgers could win three more games in October than in 2008...three lousy little games

THAT'S WHAT I CALL AN SPORTS RELATED EARMARK
