There are so many things happening right now.....both personally and universally.....which I'm not sure is even a word but you get the general idea.
I stumbled upon a quote by MACHIAVELLI......from The Prince.
IT SEEMS TO BE A PERFECT QUOTE FOR THE TIMES
"There is nothing more difficult to take in hand, more perilous to conduct, or more uncertain in it's success, than to take the lead in the introduction of a new order of things"
On a personal note.... that quote would completely summarize the attempt to introduce LED lights to the general public.
On a Universal note.... that quote could completely summarize the attempt by Barack Obama to become the first African American President of the United States
I pause to contemplate my situation and realize that when one compares the two attempts one sees that one of the attempts appears to be a bit more on the strenuous side.
Getting people to recognize a new form of energy saving light bulb is much more difficult.
Unless of course one harbors racial prejudices.
BUT IF ONE HARBORS RACIAL PREJUDICES AGAINST AFRICAN AMERICANS THEN ONE WILL NEVER ACCEPT THE IDEA OF A AFRICAN AMERICAN BEING PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES AND THUS THE COMPARISONS END BECAUSE ONE OF THE ATTEMPTS BECOMES A TOTAL IMPOSSIBILITY AND THEREFORE CANNOT BE COMPARED TO AN ATTEMPT THAT DOES HAVE POSSIBILITIES FOR SUCCESS.
ATTEMPTS HAVE TO HAVE SUCCESS OR FAILURE AS AN END RESULT OR IT'S NOT TRULY AN ATTEMPT....JUST MENTAL MASTURBATION.
CHANGING A PREJUDICIAL POINT OF VIEW IN THE HEART AND THE SOUL OF A PERSON WHO IS PREJUDICE TOWARD AFRICAN AMERICANS....
.....IS A CHANGE THAT MOST LIKELY WILL NOT TAKE PLACE.
BUT IT'S ONE OF THE CHANGES THAT MUST BE ADDRESSED ON THE BARACK OBAMA CHANGE CAMPAIGN......IT JUST CAN'T BE ADDRESSED BY BARACK.
He is the last person who can bring up race issues during the next two months.....but everybody else can bring it up.....even Joe Biden.
IT SEEMS TO BE RIGHT BELOW THE SURFACE OF THE WORD CHANGE
THE IDEA OF CHANGING FOUR HUNDRED YEARS OF BEHAVIOR TOWARD THE AFRICAN RACE BY THE COLONISTS IS A VERY HARD CORE CHANGE.
IT MEANS SUPPRESSING AN ATTITUDE OF SUPERIORITY
A SUPERIORITY
THAT DROVE WESTERN EUROPEANS TO THE SHORES OF AMERICA
A SUPERIORITY
THAT DROVE EASTERN AMERICANS TO THE PACIFIC OCEAN
A SUPERIORITY
THAT DECIDED HUMAN BEINGS COULD BE HARVESTED LIKE CORN AND THAT HUMAN BEINGS LIVING IN UNDEVELOPED AREAS DESERVED WHAT THEY GOT BECAUSE THEY WEREN'T DOING ANYTHING IN THE EYES OF THE PEOPLE WHO FELT SUPERIOR
IT'S AN ATTITUDE THAT HAS TO CHANGE
IT'S AN ATTITUDE THAT HAS TO DIE
IT'S AN ATTITUDE THAT MUST BE A PART OF AMERICA'S PAST
IT'S A CHANGE THAT MUST TAKE PLACE FOR BARACK OBAMA TO BECOME THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.
And the superior attitude that lingers just under the core values of a person's moral fiber is probably where the balance of the election lies.
THE TOTALLY PREJUDICED ASSHOLE IS NOT GOING TO CHANGE...you know the ones that hate everybody who don't look and think like them .
The change is going to have to be done on the people who don't really think they are prejudice toward African Americans but as you listen to them speak about Barak and his Muslim ties and his ties to a pissed off minister and his ties to Farakon and so on and so forth you start to hear the truth.
THE TRUTH OF PREJUDICE IS A TRUTH OFTEN DISGUISED
I admit to being homophobic but I believe the gay community has equal rights on all levels and would vote accordingly.
It's that type of attitude that must emerge within the community of people who might suppress their prejudices.....just slightly...... and just enough to prevent them from voting for an African American in November.
It's a attitude of superiority that built this country
but the 20th century proved that all races could come together in order to save this country.
ALL RACES AND ALL RELIGIONS (EXCEPT FOR THE QUAKERS) BONDED TOGETHER TO STOP THOSE FRUITCAKES IN GERMANY AND ITALY AND JAPAN.
IT'S TIME AGAIN TO BOND TOGETHER AND GIVE A MAN OF EXTREME INTELLIGENCE , GIFTED ORATORY TALENTS AND HUMBLE BEGINNINGS A CHANCE TO
CHANGE
HOW THE WORLD VIEWS US
but more importantly
HOW
WE
VIEW
OURSELVES.

Interesting points you make but I have always felt deeply that prejudice is a FEAR and more specifically of change. xo Sharon
