 Mackenzie Scott used to be married to Jeff Bezos.  They got divorced and she has become the world's greatest philanthropist.  (Maybe there are families who give more but she's a lone wolf)

YEILD GIVING is the name of her organization.

Up to this point she has given away 16.5 BILLION dollars.

You might ask how much did she get in the divorce?

Apparently she got 19 million shares of Amazon which equated to something around 40 BILLION dollars.

It appears that her entire existence at this point is to find organization and people who NEED money.

I seem to know people who have a lot of money who claim they need more money.

CHARITABLE organizations don't seem to be solving problems fast enough.

I read this morning that The Donald is having problems getting his 400 million dollar bond.

MAYBE HE NEEDS TO CALL MacKenzie.

Some numbers are staggering.....like the Dodgers losing their second game of the season 15-11 in Korea. Their new Japanese 325 million dollar pitcher has an ERA of 45.

And then that lost comes the day after Ohtani's interpreter gets fired.

The season has suddenly gotten off to a very weird start.

The statement "I didn't bet on baseball" once more appears on the scene.

There are 160 games left and maybe MacKenzie can figure out some way to smooth the Dodger sails.

It's time to leap....oh wait that's tomorrow

 The March 5 election material is sitting on my desk and I haven't even opened it.

I think this is a precursor for the upcoming Presidential election.

People are predicting record turnouts.....I'm not so sure.

The GOP guy should be in jail and the Demo dude should be in pajamas....Which turns out to be a current style if you haven't noticed.  It started with lazy teens and now I see grown men and women walking around in the pj's.  

I will probably open the ballot book today or maybe Ill wait until tomorrow and do it on a February 29 leap year day.

Then again I might not get involved until November the fifth.

God knows I don't look forward to hearing DJT talk about taking the country back AGAIN.

Oh yeah and I almost forgot to mention that #17 hit his first homerun for the Dodgers....which is a baseball reference....which is something I will be watching very closely during 2024.  

March 22 in Korea is the start......Go Dodgers.

 The family and friends of Sean, Buddy, Richie and J.P know this date is simply one that makes no sense.

  Of course Don McLean immortalized this date with his "American Pie" song but that doesn't help my memories of this day in 1994.

Reality check 2024

 As one advances further up the birthday count one greets another new year with multiple feelings and expectations.

Mortality rests slightly off center when you reach your 70's and then as you approach your 80's IT starts making ITS presence a tad more pronounced.  Those tiny aches and pains that rotate from one joint to the next depending on how you slept or how you popped out of bed.

Generally while moving about during the day those tiny little reminders take a break and if you are doing something that you enjoy (like playing golf) then they actually almost disappear.

Being aware of the political and social situations taking place here and in other parts of the world create a different type of pain awareness.

When you know there is nothing you can personally do to alter anything going on between countries and leaders of those countries...as there is nothing you can do to alter the divisions that exist within our own government...then the pain takes on a life of its own.

At home we have trusted that elections decide outcomes.  In many other countries elections don't really determine who has the power.  

In 2024 elections have suddenly become a weird event.

With the addition of AI we are about to witness a Presidential election that will baffle the minds and hearts of  responsible voters.  Keep in mind that 74 million people voted for Donald Trump in the 2020 election so responsible voting isn't always the mandate.

You do realize that he still hasn't conceded that election and that his supporters still think the election was stolen from him.

I actually talk to a few people on a regular basis that believe he wasn't responsible for the attack on the Capital on January 6 2021.  They also believe those weren't MAGA people inside the building but Antifa people dressed in MAGA clothing and gear.

I've watched the morning talks with John Eastman, Rudy Giuliani and Donald Trump TWICE and there is no doubt what they were trying to do.

AND YET HIS SUPPORTERS DON'T THINK HE WANTED TO OVERTHROW THE GOVERNMENT.  THEY SIMPLY THINK HE WAS EXHIBITING HIS RIGHT TO FREE SPEECH.

And after 723 indictments and 454 incarceration's his supporters still think he did nothing wrong...AND THAT THE OBVIOUS INSURRECTION WAS EXAGGERATED.

And we are entering an election season where certain states are trying to keep him off the primary ballots but remember the Supreme Court is 6-3 on his team so those attempts will most likely fail.

I know I should be concerned by actions talking place in the Middle East and The Ukraine but our situation at home probably has bigger ramifications for the future of peace and prosperity on a global scale because after all is said and done..........

We are the at the top of the food chain and there's a reason all those people are trying to cross our borders.

Except for a beautiful chalet on the side of a village in Switzerland where else would you want to live?

 The last post where I said Check it out is referring to a web site called Big Talk or Make Big Talk.  If you are wondering why I posted it, just click on video section and look for the grey haired dude with a blue jacket and grey baseball cap with a goatee and that's me.

If you don't have Instagram (which I don't because I put my cell phone in a drawer 6 years ago) then you might have a problem.  Apparently you can also access the site on YouTube.

The reason I'm bring this up is because someone told me that there are over 2 million views of my short interview.

The owner of Make Big Talk is Kalina Silverman and she has been working on this project for about six years.  Look her up and see what she's been doing.

I would like to regard my blog as my version of Make Big Talk.  I started Mind Jazz in 2006 and if you scroll through the archives you will discover a wide range of subject matter.

I think the next phase of my exposure (which has been slowly unfolding) will be in the Podcast world.

From what I've been told......again I don't have Instagram.....there are many comments that allude to the simple fact that I might be able to help a certain group of people who have gone through a similar situation.

This coming February 3 will be 30 years since my 15 year son Sean changed levels.

There are days where it feels like it happened yesterday and there are days where it feels like it couldn't actually have happened.  There are many more days where it feels like it happened yesterday then the other feeling.

The affect of his physical lost on other members of our family has proven to be traumatic in ways that aren't always obvious.

Human beings are story tellers and it seems on a planetary basis that BETTER STORIES NEED TO BE TOLD. 

As I look around I see a lot of anger, judgmental viewpoints  and a ton of confusion regarding politics and religious beliefs.

Science seems to be disregarded and humor isn't as widespread as it should be.

Whether or not me creating a Podcast can do any good at all......time will tell and since I'm only trying to help one person at a time my goals aren't that extreme.  

I've already been exposed to 2 million people and I wasn't even trying. 

Plus I've been told I either like to talk or I talk too much.

Thanks to Make Big Talk I'm going to expand my Universe and as you know it's a very very very very very very very very very large Universe....and it is always expanding so why not join the fun.

Many Many Many things going on

My baseball season is over and once again the Dodgers had a great REGULAR season.  Things didn't go as planned in the post season but that's why they play the game.  It's a game of failure for 31 teams that don't win the World Series BUT Los Angeles is spoiled because our regular 162 game season is consistently very very good.

If you don't follow baseball then perhaps you follow politics and if so then you can't be pleased with anything going on anywhere on the planet.

If somehow Russia is behind Iran which is behind Hamas then they are doing that to take away focus on their war with Ukraine.....which could create a much larger problem.

So many people use the term WW 3 and they might be the same people who believe in Revelations.

Religion plays such a big role in the situation that once again I hope the Creator isn't paying close attention to the nonsense.  Every religious organization claims they have the true answers and of course every organization underestimates the Creator. IF, IN FACT, THERE IS AN INTELLIGENT BEING  BEHIND THE CREATION OF THE UNIVERSE.

I BELIEVE THERE IS AND I ALSO BELIEVE  THAT HUMAN BEINGS CREATE CHAOS BASED ON THEIR ORGANIZED RELIGIOUS BELIEF SYSTEMS.

When political motivation intertwines with religious belief systems then things really get out of hand.

WE CURRENTLLY ARE WITNESSING THAT TYPE OF CHAOS.

HOW IT GETS RESOLVED IS ANOTHER ISSUE AND THAT ISSUE IS RELATED TO HOW MANY WEAPONS HAVE BEEN CREATED IN THE LAST 100 YEARS.

ESPECIALLY THE TYPE OF WEAPONS CREATED SINCE 1944.

If you build the toys and you make money selling the toys, you obviously are going to keep making more toys.

I read a story this morning about DJT using campaign money to pay his lawyers.  60 law firms have received 37 MILLION dollars.

What's really amazing to me is HOW MANY of his supporters don't think he had anything to do with the January 6 2021 attempted overthrow of the Capitol Building.

I have watch the morning speeches( Jan 6) by 3 people ( including DJT) twice and its an open and shut case

As one gets older the concept of time both diminishes and increases at the exact same speed.....and since speed is a fundamental concept of what time is, our references get blurred....from time to time.

The 2024 Presidential election has kicked off with the GOP conducting a debate and the front runner of their splintered party having his own campaign away from the "crowd."

One of the methods that the GOP uses is the statement that FOX News uses all the time.   "The American people don't want Trump or Biden."\

THAT STATEMENT IS SIMPLY NOT TRUE AND NO MATTER HOW MUCH THEY TRY TO CONVINCE YOU OF THAT FACT....IT WILL NEVER BE TRUE.

2023 Baseball update

 Of course the Dodgers are my main interest in baseball and since last year was the greatest single season they have ever had with 111 wins, I figured now at the halfway mark would be a good time to reflect on what has happened so far in the new season.

Needless to say there have been huge surprises....both positive and negative.

And by the way those surprises extend to all of Major League Baseball.

Injuries' affect all teams in baseball and the Dodgers are no exception.

Two weeks ago the Dodgers had 5 rookies on the field at the same time.  I don't ever remember that happening but I've only been paying close attention since 1958.

During the off-season the Dodger front office gave us every indication that this would be a year where the young studs in their farm system would get some opportunities.

I'm pretty sure they didn't think there would be this many opportunities but alas that is exactly what is happening.

Two of the biggest surprises have been players that haven't seen their rookie seasons in quite awhile.

Justin Hayward and David Peralta 

J.D. Martinez is not a surprise because he has always been good.

Justin Hayward's last five season's have been horrible and  now once again he is a stud.

The pitching staff has been slammed by injuries and new arms are introducing themselves.

Bobby Miller, Gavin Stone, Michael Grove and Emmet Sheehan have done a very adequate job of replacing Walker Buehler, Julio Urias, Dustin May, Tony Gonsolin and Ryan Pepiot as well as Noah Syndergaard and now Clayton Kershaw.

After ten years of leading the division this year will prove a huge challenge because other teams have young players that are also getting their chance and are responding.  The Arizona Diamondbacks are a total surprise and San Diego has underperformed so far but they have a lineup that should prove very tough during the second half.

Baseball is game of streaks and the Dodgers last 10 years have been wonderful.  Of course I'm talking about the regular season which is 162 games.  The other season, which requires an additional 11 or 12 victories has been a total success only once....in 2020.

Can the Dodgers win the World Series in 2023?

Two things about baseball......there's no crying and there's no predicting.  Just ask Dave Roberts about last year during spring training.  Big mistake Dave!

Of course the Dodgers can win the World Series.....but so can Tampa Bay, Texas, Houston, San Diego, Minnesota, New York, Atlanta, Cleveland and Cincinnati.....whoa.....wait just a sec.  Cinny was 2000 to 1 before the season started and they currently lead the Central division and apparently have the greatest young player since Mickey Mantle.

Mr. Otani of the Angels has something to say about that.  He is in a class of his own and the rumors keep saying he might be a Dodger next year.  I find it hard to believe they would spend $500 MILLION but then again the owners have more money than Warren Buffet so who knows.

Can the Dodgers win the World Series?

THE REAL QUESTION TO BE ASKED IS....

CAN THE DODGERS REACH THE PLAYOFFS?

I sure hope so!

One thing I'm really ready for is a summer winning streak and hopefully it started last night with a 5-2 win over the surprising Pittsburg Pirates who are only 4 games behind Cincinnati.

The teams that should respond in the second half of 2023 are Philadelphia, St. Louis and the New York Yankees.

July 4 to October 1 is the greatest time for Major League Baseball and I'm ready to play coach......put me in.

Not enough kudos

Last week a great American passed away and there just wasn't a big enough deal about his life and what he accomplished.

It's truly not a ridiculous statement to say that Daniel Ellsberg, as a lone individual, was the most important human being that stopped the Viet-Nam war.

Of course there were numerous groups that made their displeasure known such as student protesters, draft dodgers and Veterans against the War but without Dr. Ellsberg's conscious awakening that misguided war might have gone on for many more years.

There are multiple sources to enlighten you about his life including his own website.

If you didn't own a copy of the Pentagon Papers then I highly suggest picking up a copy and try to accept the reality that America doesn't always have humanities well being at the center of her actions.

It always comes down to who has the power at the time in question.  When you hear the fact that Dr. Henry Kissinger called Dr. Daniel Ellsberg "The most dangerous man in America" and realize that Henry had the ear of multiple Presidents over a span of 50 years, and maybe still does, then you begin to understand, or at least comprehend, that what you think is happening and what is actually happening are truly not the same thing.  To be aware of truth in the world of politics one must do excessive research....and to be honest I don't know how that is possible with all the misinformation being generated.  And not only generated on a daily basis but minute by minute, thanks to Social Media outlets and hand held devices.

It's not so much about ignoring history, it's about not wanting to acknowledge what we've learned, which in turn means maybe we haven't really learned anything.

I'm seriously petrified that someone like a Donald Trump will be able to pay for AI events that have Joe Biden admitting to fornication with a goat.  AND THE VIDEO WILL PROVE IT!

Finally the BOSS reacts to Lies and Misinformation and then the big issue of the day

 After years of simply ignoring reality and most importantly truth, Rupert Murdock dropped the axe on one of his premiere voices at FOX News. I guess it's safe  to say that losing 785 million dollars in a lawsuit can make one react..   Why Sean Hannity isn't following Tucker Carlson to the unemployment line is the real question.  I guess they are waiting for the other lawsuits to reach their conclusion before continuing the purge.

Maria Bartiromo should be fired and I have no idea where she works but her support of Rudi G and Sydney Powell during the election of 2020 remains one of the highlights in the arena of spreading Big Lies and Misinformation.    

By the way Tucker might decide to run for political office because telling lies has proven to be a rather strong trait when seeking public adulation.

The more lies one tells the more popular one becomes.

And today JOE announced that he would be seeking a second term in order to "finish the job" which actually is a vague term when it comes to political jargon.

FINISH THE JOB makes sense when speaking to a house painter or a plumber but when a politician says it I'm instantly put into the campaign mental state which often times makes me dizzy and quite light headed.

The job that needs to be finished, in my opinion, is the job that never got started.

THE REGULATION OF GUN OWNERSHIP AND WEAPONS MANUFACTURING is a subject that Republicans refuse to discuss....especially Republicans who have been elected to ANY office in this country.

The 2nd Amendment is the most ridiculous amendment ever constructed.

The human beings who wrote the 2nd Amendment were very aware that a well armed militia was extremely important...which is generally the case when a country has recently secured their independence after a war.  Not one of those people had ANY idea of what future weapon construction would consist of.  It took one minute to reload a musket in 1791 and  today 15 children can be murdered in 30 seconds or less with an assault rifle.

By all accounts there are approximately 400 MILLION guns in America.

Combine that with approximately 40 million people who are extremely close to being certifiably "nuts" and the recipe for disaster is obvious.

WE NEED TO REGULATE GUN OWNERSHIP  and the first step is to regulate weapon manufacturing.

I prefer the NEW ZEALAND Jargon and the AUSTRALIAN Jargon when it comes to weapons.

And I have no desire to live in either of those countries......

I simply want US to get our priorities straight.
