There seems to be some people that think Mr. Polanski should be put to death for his actions in 1977.
I don't think anyone on either side of the issue thinks he didn't do something extremely immoral and horrible wrong.
I THINK THE ISSUE HERE REVOLVES AROUND THE VICTIM
ONLY ONE PERSON CAN FORGIVE HIM AND SHE HAS DONE THAT
I'm not sure how Mr. Polanski handles grieving and the lost of someone he loves but there is slight possibility that he might have been partially insane in 1977 and every single day since August 9 1969
Again it should not be an excuse for his behavior but having Charlie Manson murder your pregnant wife might create certain mental instabilities as you try to move forward in life.
AND THE LAST THING I WANT TO HEAR IS...." IT HAD BEEN 7 YEARS AND HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECOVERED BY THEN."
SOMETIMES THERE IS NO RECOVERY PERIOD
SOMETIMES TRAGEDY JUST KEEPS LINGERING AND LINGERING AND LINGERING AND LINGERING AND LINGERING.
In 1977 a 13 year old girl suffered a horrible ordeal. ( Her mother should have been arrested for agreeing to the photo shoot.)
THAT SAME GIRL FORGAVE THE PERPETRATOR AND RECEIVED A CASH SETTLEMENT.
THE SYSTEM AGREED ON A PLEA BARGAINING DEAL AND A JUDGE CHANGED THE DEAL AND WAS GOING TO SENTENCE THE PERPETRATOR TO A LONGER SENTENCE THAN AGREED UPON AND THUS THE PERPETRATOR HIT THE ROAD AND HAS NEVER BEEN BACK TO AMERICA.
IF MURDER WAS INVOLVED THAN THERE IS NO STATUE OF LIMITATIONS
THERE WAS NO MURDER. THE GIRL HAS GROWN UP AND BECOME AN ADULT.
NO MURDER
BUT
A WHOLE LOT OF JUDGMENTAL PEOPLE THAT SIMPLY THINK IT'S THEIR JOB TO DETERMINE THE OUTCOME
THE OUTCOME WAS DETERMINED WHEN THE VICTIM FORGAVE THE PERPETRATOR and the perpetrator was never allowed back into this country.
The final judgment of his behavior will happen in a much higher court
I look at his life and I understand why he might have been behaving badly and not caring about other people. It doesn't appear that he's repeated that type of crime again.
JUDGES VS FORGIVERS
THAT'S THE TWO SIDES
And I'm sure that just like the Health Care reform issue.....neither side will buckle under.
I really think there are much bigger issues confronting us that far outweigh this story...but if you are going to look at the story and be final judge and jury, then you need to fully understand that he might have been slightly insane when he did what he did.
