Let the PARTY begin but it should have been 4 day weekend

Tuesday marks a major HISTORICAL event in the annuals of our young country.

Today marks the beginning of the celebration

Tomorrow is Martin Luther King's Birthday

BEING THAT THIS IS A ONCE IN A LIFETIME OCCURRENCE (probably) I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT SOMEONE IN THE GOVERNMENT MIGHT HAVE CONSIDERED MAKING THIS A FOUR DAY WEEKEND AND GIVING EVERYBODY TUESDAY OFF SO THEY COULD EXPERIENCE THE EVENT....LIVE

(after all....the government is the largest employer in the country)

I REALIZE TIVO AND DVR'S MAKE IT POSSIBLE FOR MANY MORE PEOPLE TO WATCH THE CEREMONIES BUT WHAT'S ANOTHER DAY OFF AT THIS POINT IN TIME?

THE ECONOMY IS SO SCREWED THAT MAYBE SHUTTING THINGS DOWN FOR AN EXTRA DAY WOULDN'T BE SUCH A BAD IDEA.

STOCK MARKET WOULDN'T TANK, OIL PRICES COULDN'T SURGE, PEOPLE WOULDN'T BE SPENDING MONEY GETTING TO WORK....ETC....ETC....ETC. Plus they would have an extra day to participate in the Circuit City blowout.
But mainly
AN ENTIRE COUNTRY WOULD HAVE BEEN HOME WATCHING AN EVENT THAT HAS TREMENDOUS RAMIFICATIONS FOR OUR FUTURE.

IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A FOUR DAY WEEKEND

My guess is that the sick call list will reach historical proportions on Tuesday January 20 2009.

On Wednesday reality sets in and everything gets back to normal...and at this stage normal seems to be wrapped up quite tightly in a few words

HOPE
and
HERO

I understand that putting "HERO" pressure on Barack Obama is probably not a good thing but geez...that's what it feels like after eight years of George W. Bush.

We need the type of hero that encompasses a world of turmoil and doesn't create division just because it's possible.

USING THE STRENGTH THAT EXISTS IN THE RIGHT WAYS CAN BE DONE IF THE PERSON SHOWING THE WAY EXHIBITS HEROIC VISION AND BEHAVES WITH HEROIC ACTIONS.

By the way...my HERO references...have much to do with the Joesph Campbell's prototypical hero explanations.

BARACK OBAMA IS THE JOHN F. KENNEDY OF THIS GENERATION AND IT'S BEEN 40 YEARS SINCE WE'VE HAD A LEADER WHO COULD EXPLAIN THINGS WHILE AT THE SAME TIME COULD MOTIVATE US TO TAKE ACTION.

WILLIAM CLINTON COULD TELL US THINGS BUT WE ALL KNEW HE WAS
A LITTLE CHEESY....AND A BIT SNEAKY

ROBERT F. KENNEDY WAS THE LAST POLITICIAN, ON A NATIONAL LEVEL, THAT MADE ME FEEL FUNDAMENTALLY HOPEFUL FOR THE FUTURE

BIAS HISTORIANS WILL DO WHATEVER POSSIBLE TO DESTROY AN IMAGE
OR INFLATE THE IMPORTANCE.

UNBIASED HISTORIANS WILL SIMPLY TELL THE STORY AND LET YOU DECIDE

THE ACTIONS THAT ARE NOW...THAT WE GET TO OBSERVE...ARE THE METHODS FOR KNOWING TRUTH AND REALITY

GEORGE W. BUSH IS AN ANOMALY. HE WAS ABLE TO DESTROY THE HISTORICAL ATTRIBUTES OF HIS PRESIDENCY WHILE STILL IN OFFICE.

It's important for the America people to regard the President as an intelligent person...who also possesses compassion and curiosity. The President needs to be strong but in ways that display character...not just control.

I PRAY TO GOD THAT BARACK OBAMA BECOMES A PRESIDENT THAT FUTURE PRESIDENTS TRY TO EMULATE.

I FEEL ENCOURAGED AND I FEEL ENERGIZED BY HIS PRESENCE
and on top of that
he
can
talk
like
a
MF

and that's really something we've been missing since Clinton left office.

There has been A HUGE VOID in the speaking category generated from the Oval Office
and
that's
about
to
change

AND SPEAKING TO US WITH INTELLIGENCE AND HUMANISTIC TRAITS
CAN
BE
HEROIC

I THINK BARACK OBAMA IS EXACTLY WHAT THIS COUNTRY NEEDS IN THIS VERY TUMULTUOUS TIME
AND THANK GOD SO DID A MAJORITY OF THE VOTING PUBLIC

Lately I've even heard of some Republicans who are excited about Barry.
Seriously!

IT'S AN INCREDIBLE PREDICAMENT THAT THIS COUNTRY HAS PLACED ITSELF IN AND THE NEXT FOUR YEARS WILL BE EXTREMELY HARD ON MANY MANY PEOPLE

WE HAVE LET THE JUDICIAL SYSTEM PROTECT CORPORATE AMERICA AND IGNORE INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS AND LIBERTIES

WE ARE PROTECTING THE WRONG IDEALS
and it can be fixed
but
BARACK OBAMA CAN NOT DO IT ALONE

BUT HE ALONE CAN TALK US THROUGH THE PROCESS

He's the HEAD COACH and he can't throw the ball, or carry the ball, or kick the ball...but he can drop the ball as was displayed by W.

I THINK BARACK CAN BE THE HERO WE NEED
and
I don't think that's putting too much pressure on him
because
after all
that's
exactly
what
he wanted.

THE BALL IS IN YOUR COURT SIR AND
WE SHOULD HAVE HAD A FOUR DAY WEEKEND TO GET THE PARTY STARTED.
