catching up and filling in

Today is the first day that I've felt somewhat normal....which in my case might be actually a few degrees away from normal.

I'm speaking about physical normality so please hold the jokes and the snippy remarks.

In truth the last few years have been rather abnormal for me in regards to physical realities.

I had some kidney issues in August of 2006 and they have responded nicely since that incident and are slowly working their way back into an acceptable operating mode.

The medical profession probably knows less about kidneys then any other organ...even though the liver is a close second. What they really don't know is why they repair themselves in some people and don't repair themselves in others.

At the time in 2006 they said the kidney failure was due to an enlarged prostate...which turns out not to be true...and with a PSA reading of 1.1 there was really no issue with that gland.

THE PROBLEM IS.... SINCE THAT INCIDENT I HAVE HAD A STANDING HEART RATE OF 140.

AND I AM BASICALLY ASYSTEMATIC...WHICH OF COURSE MEANS I DON'T DISPLAY THE NORMAL PROBLEMS THAT SOMEONE WITH A 140 PULSE RATE WOULD DISPLAY.

IT DIDN'T BOTHER ME TOO MUCH BECAUSE IT DIDN'T COMPARE TO THE 185 STANDING HEART RATE IN 1976 WHEN MY THYROID WENT TOTALLY INSANE AND HAD TO BE REMOVED FROM THE PARTY.

I REALLY NEED TO CALL DR. DREW

BACK TO THE NOW STORY

Last Thursday night I was having trouble voiding....gently speaking....I couldn't pee and that had not been a problem in the last two years due to my "little friend"
and my roommate and my plastic lover.

Better known in the party circles as a "catheter"

I've yet to name it because once my kidneys get back as far as they can...I will stop the relationship...The doctors don't know how long it can take for kidneys to repair themselves but the numbers indicate that mine are improving month after month after month.

Anyway...I went to the emergency room and they fixed my "little friend" and I was fine except they noticed the heart rate and 6 day s later they sent me home

I have....
Tachycardia-Induced Cardiomyopathy
which means my heart is beating much to fast and a part of the heart is not pumping like it should....BECAUSE it's been pumping too fast.

The good news is that it is reversible....
....IF the heart can beat at a normal rate...which is 60-70.

They were going to do a DC CARDIOVERSION, which is electrical shock to the heart, but first they had to do a
TRANSESOPHAGEAL ECHOCARDIOGRAM
which is a test that allows doctors to see into the heart from the esophagus...which is your swallowing tube.

UNFORTUNATELY I AM ONE OF THE SMALL PERCENTAGE OF PEOPLE THAT CAN'T HAVE THEIR HEART VIEWED FROM THE ESPOHAGUS....and to do the SHOCK they need to make sure there are no clots that would be released with the shock because clots have a tendency to seek out portions of the brain that apparently turn one into a small withered grape....and frankly I'm not comfortable with that idea....and fortunately neither was the cardiologist.

So I woke up with an extremely sore throat and no shock treatment...and will be coughing up a little blood for a week or so due to the blood thinners and the poking around they did while trying to locate a clot.

DOING THE SHOCK TREATMENT ELIMINATES THE NEED FOR TAKING DRUGS SUCH AS BLOOD THINNERS, BETA-BLOCKERS, FISH OIL AND 6 OTHER ASSORTED THINGS THAT ARE CURRENTLY PART OF MY DAILY PROGRAM FOR THE NEXT 4 TO 6 WEEKS...AT WHICH TIME THEY WILL SHOCK THE SH.T OUT OF ME.

Right before I went under I asked the shockmeister what the record of shocks was during a single procedure...he bend over and whispered..."27, and it worked....but he was a much bigger man than you"

When you are laying in a bed and they are about to shock you....everybody is a much bigger man....even little people from Oz land....in fact anybody standing seemed to be better off than me at that moment.

My big problem after I picked up the 9 prescriptions was when I noticed that one of them was LIPITOR

WHICH FROM EVERYTHING I'VE STUDIED IS CHOLESTEROL MEDICINE

MY CHOLESTEROL IS 163

LIPITOR IS A "STATIN"

PLEASE LOOK IT UP ON YOUR OWN

AND IF YOU NEED SOME...CALL ME...BECAUSE I'VE GOT A $140.00 PRESCRIPTION THAT IS JUST SITTING ON THE SHELF.

I'M SERIOUSLY NOT GOING TO RESELL MY PRESCRIPTION DRUGS AND OF COURSE THAT'S A NOTE TO THE FBI .

I WAS JUST KIDDING

BUT I'M NOT KIDDING ABOUT NOT TAKING IT.

OF COURSE THERE IS A LOT MORE RESEARCH NEEDED ON MY PART TO SEE IF LIPITOR IS SUPPOSE TO INTERACT WITH ONE OF THE OTHER 8 DRUGS,,,BUT SINCE THEY DIDN'T GIVE ME LIPITOR IN THE HOSPITAL THEN I THINK IT'S JUST A LIPITOR/MEDICAL CONSPIRACY.

AT A $140.00 FOR 30 PILLS......IT BECOMES A VERY LUCRATIVE CONSPIRACY.

BUT ON TOP OF ALL THIS NONSENSE
IT TURNS OUT THAT THE DODGERS
HAVE JUST HAD THEIR MOST SUCCESSFUL SEASON SINCE 1988
and it's not over....but this is the first time they have won more than one game in the playoffs since 1988 so this becomes the most successful team
in
20 years

COOL

CHICAGO CUB FANS ARE USED TO LONG LOSING PERIODS

WE , ON THE OTHER HAND,ARE NOT!

GO DODGERS

I tried to talk to the doctor about the hit on my heart in 1994 but they just don't have any medical records on how those type of hits can affect the heart....

WELL...I'VE GOT A CLUE and it brings me to a NEO-ILLUMINATION

"Sometimes the heart and soul of an artist can know for sure
what the mind of a scientist
will never understand"

But for now I'm resting and trying to learn every method of slowing the heart down other than using the Golden Gate Bridge for a springboard to eternity.

The Dodgers have won two playoff games.....wow

And tomorrow I'll get back into the swing of things and comment on the Biden/Palin debate which I watched from room number 622...bed 1.

Thanks for being patient...which obviously I was also doing...in a slightly different manner.
