I never understood why the Green issue was not a bi-partisan issue. Using better means to obtain energy or fuel is beneficial to EVERYBODY.....no matter what political party one endorses.
And by better means I am referring to methods that are used from anything that we appear to possess in abundance.
The only logical answer is that certain groups of people do not want better means to be used because it would reduce the means that they control.
I am fully aware that a term other than means should and could be used....but mean means is what results from looking deeply into this matter.
When one knows that ethanol can be created from things grown by farmers, then anything else used to make fuel is a mean means.
MEAN MEANS......MEAN AND NASTY
When one knows that LED lighting can be used in place of standard light bulbs, and result in 90% less energy being used...than using a regular light bulb is a mean means of illumination.
And since I brought it up I've got to make a comment about the apparent excitement regarding fluorescent bulbs. Many communities and even some countries are pushing the use of fluorescent, to replace incandescent, and failing to even mention the LED lighting which is even more energy efficient. The only reason it doesn't seem to be getting press is because it's quite a bit more expensive than either of the two other bulbs. But the amount of energy saved and the amount of time it last, compared to the other two, is CONSIDERABLE.
CONSIDERABLE
It is so efficient that the EDISON company will financially participate in the changing of the bulb....as long as it is a large industrial user.
The Edison company does not want to build any more Nuclear power plants, or any other type of facility that is needed to convert energy....so the only answer available is
HOW TO SAVE ENERGY....and the LED form of illumination is the most logical method of saving energy when it comes to light bulbs.
We are talking 60,000 hours of life span for an LED bulb compared to 1000 hours for an incandescent bulb.
We are talking 60,000 hours of life span for an LED bulb compared to 10,000 hours for a fluorescent bulb.
And while the fluorescent bulb kicks the incandescent bulb's ass....the LED bulb obliterates both and NEVER GETS MENTIONED BY COMPANIES, AND COUNTRIES, THAT ARE SWITCHING TO FLUORESCENT LIGHTING.
Hopefully that is about to change....because GREEN should be everybody's color.
Everyday in my blog I will give an example of how we all can particiapte in helping address an issue, that should have always been bi-partisan.
Unless of course you support the notion that multi-national corporations should be allowed to reek havoc....without the slightest interest in what happens, other than the profit margin line of the financial statement.
If you feel that way then you are probably deeply invested in those companies and regard this blog as a form of anarchy.
But someday even you will ask the magic question.....
WHY ISN'T THE GREEN ISSUE .....A BI-PARTISAN ISSUE?
Hopefully you won't be asking that question after it's too late....
.....and i said it before and i'll say it one more time
GREEN should be everybody's color.
