Reality check 2.0

Yesterday things got real in a few different ways.

Growing old is not a new experience when one turns 80 because IT has been slowly creeping up the ladder for awhile.

Being able to take my 8 year old granddaughter golfing for her first time made the feeling old dealio disappear for awhile.  Having played golf two days in a row reminded me that I can still function on a somewhat normal level without pain roaming throughout my body.

The reality is that I could actually play again today.

Instead I'm going to do my laundry, return some birthday wish phone calls and then keep reading the latest Dean Koontz novel, which by the way seems to be a writer's experiment for him,  and then  catch up on the latest Olympic results.

Let's get back to the important part of this article.

MY GRANDDAUGHTER

The reality check regarding her is not only is she ok but she is remarkable in so many ways.....which leads me directly to her.......

Dear ISLA,

I'm writing this knowing someday you will probably sit down and read MIND JAZZ articles and while doing so will stumble on this one and  also remember the day you played golf with your grandpa "Tim" on his 80th birthday.

(as long as Google is in business Mind Jazz will be available to view)

It was a wonderful day and whether or not you continue to play the game of golf depends on so many other people and so many other things. I'm pretty sure you will because you had fun and because it's a mental and physical challenge and you seem like a person who desires challenges..

My favorite part of the day was getting the partial birthday card.  The fact that it actually fit inside the Valentine card envelope from The Paper Source store that I got you was amazing because I wasn't kidding when I said it could sell in the store.

If you enlarge image you will see that items are cut out, painted and pasted back on image....like guy on boat and sunrays etc.

God knows you have faced some abnormal challenges already and seem to be doing a remarkable job dealing with everything life has thrown your way.

I think the art aspect of your life has helped tremendously but the simple fact is you are very very smart and funny and those two element will always be a huge part of who you are and who you will become.

I look forward to helping you in anyway I can both on the art and the funny sides while dumping  a bit of science, sports, politics and spiritual awareness on your path.

Perhaps that is why I even started MIND JAZZ. The archives are there on the right side for a reason....and you might be that reason.

THANKS FOR A WONDERFUL DAY

LOVE

"TIM"
