THIS SEEMS LIKE A WAR CHANT

On page A17 in today's LA TIMES a group called the CATO INSTITUTE took out a full page ad with the names of 115 scientists who are basically supporting the theory that...

GLOBAL WARMING IS A NON-ISSUE

THEY CLAIM THERE HAS BEEN NO NET GLOBAL WARMING IN OVER A DECADE

THEY ARE FLAT OUT TELLING THE PRESIDENT THAT HE IS WRONG IN ATTEMPTING TO FIGHT CLIMATE CHANGE

As a residing member of the planet Earth I would much prefer to know that there isn't a problem....but

I have learned one thing over the years.....maybe two but for sure one....

When it comes to global awareness and multi-national conglomerate interests....there can actually be a wide division between profit motive and public safety.

One would look at this list of scientists and immediately say they couldn't all be mistaken....could they?

MY FIRST QUESTION IS.....did the CATO INSTITUTE make payments to any of these scientists for their opinion?

MY SECOND QUESTION IS.....what's the CATO INSTITUTE?

MY THIRD QUESTION......how fast will it take Al Gore and his merry band of ecosoldiers to respond in like manner.

I'M SURE THE LA TIMES WASN'T THE ONLY MAJOR NEWSPAPER THAT RAN THIS FULL PAGE AD

Obviously some investigation must take place and we should all go to WWW.CATO.ORG
and find out who and what they are.

I HONESTLY THOUGHT EVERYBODY WAS ON BOARD WITH THIS PROBLEM.

I ACTUALLY READ A STORY THE OTHER DAY THAT OUR REDUCTION IN FLUOROCARBONS, WHICH STARTED 20 YEARS AGO, WAS A VERY POSITIVE THING
FOR HELPING THE HOLE IN THE OZONE....and now I've got to go back and see where I read that article.

Do you have Leo DiCaprio's cell phone number?

PUT THAT JOINT DOWN

WASHINGTON – However they satisfy their nicotine cravings, tobacco users are facing a big hit as the single largest federal tobacco tax increase ever takes effect Wednesday.

Tobacco companies and public health advocates, longtime foes in the nicotine battles, are trying to turn the situation to their advantage. The major cigarette makers raised prices a couple of weeks ago, partly to offset any drop in profits once the per-pack tax climbs from 39 cents to $1.01.

Medical groups see a tax increase right in the middle of a recession as a great incentive to help persuade smokers to quit.

Tobacco taxes are soaring to finance a major expansion of health insurance for children. President Barack Obama signed that health initiative soon after taking office.

Other tobacco products, from cigars to pipes and smokeless, will see similarly large tax increases, too. For example, the tax on chewing tobacco will go up from 19.5 cents per pound to 50 cents. The total expected to be raised over the 4 1/2 year-long health insurance expansion is nearly $33 billion.

CURRENTLY I DON'T SMOKE even though I had one about two weeks ago...so I'm not sure how much packs are, but I do know the amount of money that could be generated if pot was legal

is staggering

HOW MUCH TAX REVENUE IS GENERATED FROM THE SALE OF ALCOHOL?

And it would help reduce some of the smuggling problems from the south

POT NEEDS TO BE LEGALIZED

AND

TAXED

and cigarettes should be $10.00 a pack

and BEER should be $5.00 a can....that's still two dollars cheaper than at Dodger Stadium

and by the way......

OPUS ONE should be $1.00 a bottle

Lights OUT

World switches off to save planet in "Earth Hour"

A combination picture shows a view of the main square in downtown Lima before (top) and during Earth Hour March 28, 2009. More than 80 countries have signed up for Earth Hour on Saturday in which homes, office towers and landmarks will turn off their lights from 8.30 pm local time to raise awareness about climate change and the threat from rising greenhouse gas emissions.REUTERS/Pilar Olivares (PERU CITYSCAPE ENVIRONMENT SOCIETY)

SYDNEY (Reuters) - Lights went out at tourism landmarks and homes across the globe on Saturday for Earth Hour 2009, a global event designed to highlight the threat from climate change.

From the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge to the Eiffel Tower in Paris and London's Houses of Parliament, lights were dimmed as part of a campaign to encourage people to cut energy use and curb greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuels.

Organizers said the action showed millions of people wanted governments to work out a strong new U.N. deal to fight global warming by the end of 2009, even though the global economic crisis has raised worries about the costs.

"We have been dreaming of a new climate deal for a long time," Kim Carstensen, head of a global climate initiative at the conservation group WWF, said in a candle-lit bar in the German city of Bonn, which hosts U.N. climate talks between March 29 and April 8.

"Now we're no longer so alone with our dream. We're sharing it with all these people switching off their lights," he said as delegates and activists sipped bluish cocktails.

The U.N. Climate Panel says greenhouse gas emissions are warming the planet and will lead to more floods, droughts, heatwaves, rising sea levels and animal and plant extinctions.

World emissions have risen by about 70 percent since the 1970s. China has recently overtaken the United States as the top emitter, ahead of the European Union, Russia and India.

BILLION PEOPLE TAKE PART

The U.N. Climate Panel says rich nations will have to cut their emissions to a level between 25 and 40 percent below 1990 levels by 2020 to avoid the worst effects of warming. Developing nations will also have to slow the rise of their emissions by 2020, it says.

Australia first held Earth Hour in 2007 and it went global in 2008, attracting 50 million people, organizers say. WWF, which started the event, is hoping one billion people from nearly 90 countries will take part.

"The primary reason we do it is because we want people to think, even if it is for an hour, what they can do to lower their carbon footprint, and ideally take that beyond the hour," Earth Hour executive director Andy Ridley told reporters at Sydney's Bondi Beach.

In Asia, lights at landmarks in China, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines were dimmed as people celebrated with candle-lit picnics and concerts.

Buildings in Singapore's business district went dark along with major landmarks such as the Singapore Flyer, a giant observation wheel.

Other global landmarks that switched off their lights included the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, the Reserve Bank in Mumbai, the dome of St Peter's Basilica in Rome, Egypt's Great Pyramids and the Acropolis in Athens.

DOES THAT MEAN I HAVE TO TURN OFF MY TV AND MISS THE LADIES FREE STYLE?

WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF RECORDED TELEVISION

WOW

I met a nice person yesterday named Jeanie Madsen from the James Coleman Fine Art Gallery in Santa Monica on Ocean Ave....1431 to be precise.... (and soon to be renamed) Consider stopping by before the end of the month or wait until May for the re-opening.

Life changes as Art changes....or does art change life?

One of her featured artist does amazing wall hanging sculptures and Jeanie informed me that the genre of his work is called....

STEAMPUNK

I think I pay pretty close attention to movements and especially NEO dealio's but obviously I've been napping.

Here's the skinny from Wikipedia

Steampunk

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jump to: navigation, search
A desktop computer styled in a steampunk fashion

Steampunk is a sub-genre of fantasy and speculative fiction that came into prominence in the 1980s and early 1990s. The term denotes works set in an era or world where steam power is still widely used—usually the 19th century, and often set in Victorian era England—but with prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy, such as fictional technological inventions like those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne, or real technological developments like the computer occurring at an earlier date. Other examples of steampunk contain alternate history-style presentations of "the path not taken" of such technology as dirigibles or analog computers; these frequently are presented in an idealized light, or with a presumption of functionality.

Steampunk is often associated with cyberpunk and shares a similar fanbase and theme of rebellion, but developed as a separate movement (though both have considerable influence on each other). Apart from time period and level of technological development, the main difference between cyberpunk and steampunk is that steampunk settings usually tend to be less obviously dystopian than cyberpunk, or lack dystopian elements entirely.

Various modern utilitarian objects have been modded by individual craftpersons into a pseudo-Victorian mechanical "steampunk" style, and a number of visual and musical artists have been described as steampunk.

Steampunk as popular fiction

William Gibson and Bruce Sterling's 1990 novel The Difference Engine[9] is often credited with bringing widespread awareness of the genre among science fiction fans (although, as mentioned above, the term was coined by Jeter in 1987.[10]) This novel applies the principles of Gibson and Sterling's cyberpunk writings to an alternate Victorian era where Charles Babbage's proposed steam-powered mechanical computer, which he called a difference engine (a later, more general-purpose version was known as an analytical engine), was actually built, and led to the dawn of the information age more than a century "ahead of schedule".

The first use of the word in a title was in Paul Di Filippo's 1995 Steampunk Trilogy, consisted of three short novels: "Victoria," "Hottentots," and "Walt and Emily," which respectively imagine the replacement of Queen Victoria by a human/newt clone, an invasion of Massachusetts by Lovecraftian-type monsters, and a love affair between Walt Whitman and Emily Dickinson.

Alan Moore's and Kevin O'Neill's 1999 The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen comic book series (and the subsequent 2003 film adaption) greatly popularized the steampunk genre and helped propel it into mainstream fiction.[11]

Subculture

Because of the popularity of steampunk with people in the goth, punk, cybergoth, and Industrial subcultures, there is a growing movement towards establishing steampunk as a culture and lifestyle.[28] The most immediate form of steampunk subculture is the community of fans surrounding the genre. Some move beyond this, adopting a "steampunk aesthetic" through fashion, home decor, and music. This movement may also be described as "Neo-Victorianism", which is the amalgamation of Victorian aesthetic principles with modern sensibilities and technologies.[29] Other have proposed a steampunk philosophy, sometimes with punk-inspired anti-establishment sentiments,[30] and typically bolstered by optimism about human potential.[31]

"Steampunk fashion" has no set guidelines, but tends to synthesize modern styles as filtered through the Victorian era. This may include gowns, corsets, petticoats and bustles; gentlemen's suits with vests, coats and spats; or even military-inspired garments. Often, steampunk outfits will be accented with a mixture of technological and period accessories: timepieces, parasols, goggles and ray guns. Even modern accessories like cell phones or music players can be found in steampunk outfits, after being modified to give them the appearance of Victorian-made objects. Aspects of steampunk fashion have been anticipated by mainstream high fashion, the Lolita fashion and aristocrat styles, neo-Victorianism, and the romantic goth subculture.[11][29][32]

"Steampunk music" is even less defined, as Caroline Sullivan says in The Guardian, "internet debates rage about exactly what constitutes the SP sound."[26] This can be heard in the work of artists such as Abney Park,[32] Unextraordinary Gentlemen,[33] and Vernian Process.[34][35]

I HONESTLY DON'T KNOW HOW THIS FIGURES WITH NEO-ILLUMINATION
but perhaps it's not that people aren't ready for my "stuff" as much as my "stuff " was intended for another time....and since quantum mechanics shows us that time can flip all over the freaking place....maybe I was having some help from some of the characters listed above.

And when one thinks about my abstract designs and then considers the words.....there is something STEAMPUNKISH about my work....

maybe not......

But I do love the fact that Alan Moore has something to do with the genre.

I highly suggest visiting the gallery at 1431 Ocean Ave. and ask for Jeanie.....the dog is friendly but it doesn't eat lettuce....which would be extremely weird....but not knowing about STEAMPUNK before yesterday is also very weird.

TAKE AN IMPORTANT MOMENT

FROM GREENPEACE

STOP GLOBAL WARMING

This is it. This is the defining moment you've been working toward - your chance to put a stop to the most catastrophic effects of global warming. This is the fight of our lives, and we have just a week to win it!

President Obama has just presented his budget to Congress, and it includes a very important cap on global warming emissions and a commitment to move America to a clean energy economy. By including action on the climate in his proposed budget, the President has clearly signaled that he intends to fight hard for a serious global warming bill this year. But he can't win this fight on his own.

You know what this fight is for. Drought, floods, fires, and sea level rise will worsen significantly if we don't take immediate action. Millions of lives could be at stake if we fail.

But as you're reading this, powerful forces from the coal, oil and gas industries are working behind the scenes to make sure that Congress strips action on global warming out of the budget. They understand exactly what this will mean for their polluting industries. It's a game changer. For the sake of our future and the planet, we can't let them succeed.

TAKE ACTION >> Tell your members of Congress to pass a budget that includes limits on global warming pollution.

This is a historic opportunity. Congress will likely vote on this in the next week. Let's make sure they follow Obama's lead and do the right thing. It's up to all of us to act now.

For our future,

Samantha Rodgers
Greenpeace Field Organizing Director

p.s. Please forward this to your friends and family and ask them to take urgent action, too!

SIMPLY TAKE A MOMENT AND CLICK ON TAKE ACTION ABOVE...FILL OUT THE INFORMATION AND SEND IT.

GLOBAL WARMING HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH AL GORE AND IT IS NOT A NEW REALITY SHOW

YOUR SON'S AND DAUGHTERS AND NIECES AND NEPHEWS and especially their CHILDREN....NEED YOU TO CARE ABOUT THIS ISSUE.

SAN DIEGO – The radar gun blinks wildly. It’s not used to this. No one makes it strain to read out a third digit. It looks like binary code, not the speed of a pitch from a 20-year-old kid: 101.

It keeps showing up, 101 again and again, and as scouts peek at the number, they ask aloud what everyone else in the baseball world wonders: Will Stephen Strasburg someday throw a baseball harder than anyone has before?

EVERY TIME I HEAR ONE OF THE STORIES I ALWAYS LOOK FOR THE DATE AND IT ALWAYS SEEMS TO BE CLOSE TO APRIL FIRST.

IF YOU'VE GOT A FEW EXTRA MILLION

NEW PLAN REVEALED TODAY....

Washington Post Staff Writer

The U.S. government will offer hundreds of billions of dollars in equity and loan guarantees to investors who bid against one another to buy troubled assets from banks, officials said today.

The "Public Private Investment Plan" detailed this morning, a long-awaited but risky piece of the government's financial stabilization strategy, will pour government money into private investment funds as a way to move loans from the balance sheets of banks to those of long-term investors.

Under the plan, the government and private investors will invest together to buy up between $500 billion and $1 trillion worth of real estate-related loans and securities from banks. The government will use up to $100 billion from the Troubled Assets Relief Program, matched by private funds, to capitalize the purchases.

THE MARKET APPROVED OF THE PLAN AND SOARED 2500 POINTS IN ONE HOUR...

OK....relax..... everything you read might not be true

determining what is fact and what is fiction seems to be the present test

...but actually it does appear that if you've got a few extra million or billion laying around, that this would be a really good time to invest in Real Estate.

I hear some cities and even some states are available......and actually a few countries like Ireland and Greenland are ripe for the pickings.

I wonder if Ted Turner is scooping up more and more land?

Sometimes you only get one chance

This morning, around 9:40, I had to mail a letter and return a few library books and while I should have walked the 7 blocks (14 round trip) I decided to drive so that I could listen to Jennifer Nettles sing STAY.

A nice way, I thought, to start the day...and as I got in the my car and turned on the CD I immediately knew I was right in making the decision to be lazy and abuse the environment one more time.

There is a stop sign at every block in my residential area of Santa Monica and I had made one or two stops or maybe three, when I noticed in the middle of the block a cute woman sitting on a lawn chair with yard sale stuff. It was a small group of things on a blanket.
She had picked a piece of grass that was semi-hidden behind cars and I thought her location was rather silly but I caught a glimpse of her face, partially hidden by a baseball cap, and my first thought was "wow, that's a really pretty face for a yard sale." I noticed that she was next to an alley and decided to pull back around the block and ask her if she wanted to listen to a great song.

The next thought was the thought that it might scare her and I should just move on to the post office and the library and maybe stop on the way back and see what she was selling and find out how good her face was....

My very next thought was.....she would love listening to the song and it would make her feel better....but I quickly replaced that idea with one that prevents partial stalking.

If men do it right than it's called being a hound dog......if it's done wrong than it borders on legal problems.

I selected the non-invasive action and drove on......keeping in mind that the strongest instinctual thought was the one about her feeling better after listening to the song.

NEO-ILLUMINATION moment...."with well developed intuition....there are no surprises"

I know when and when not to interact with other human beings and I felt this was one moment I should have shared....but lately I haven't (physically) been myself so things are a bit off center.

I went to the post office and then I went to the library, which took about 15 minutes and drove back along the same route I had previously traveled with sole intention of checking out yard sale face....and maybe even see if she had a book I might buy.

Playing the song option was long gone. That was the moment with the chance and the moment I let dissolve..

As I drove by the location where she was.......there was nothing except grass.

I thought it was strange and then realized I must have been on a different street....but that didn't seem possible because the route is one I've done a thousand times...

I drove up and down the only three streets she could have been on and I'm here to report that sometimes you only get one chance.

Sometimes you have a moment and within that moment you either understand intuition and use the other senses or you just continue traveling on the road of previous practicality...that really doesn't work all that well, but keeps you following the status quo.

That attractive woman was there to hear a song by Jennifer Nettles played from the car of a complete stranger...and when that moment passed she picked her stuff up and moved on with her life.

THE MYSTERIES OF LIFE FAR OUTNUMBER THE KNOWN REALITIES

I know what I know and yet I still let aha moments pass me by.

What the f..k was I thinking?

And of course there are always two sides to every story......or 50 if you've got the time

here's one possibility

ONE MINUTE after I had passed her.......her boyfriend showed up and asked what the hell she was doing and she told him she was selling his stuff because he was not paying enough attention to her and he apologized and asked her to marry him and they packed up and left for Vegas.

SEIZE THE MOMENTS WHEN THEY APPEAR AND TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS
and make sure you get
your library books
back
on
time
but
remember
sometimes you only get one chance

GOLDEN MATH PATH TO HEADACHE

Golden ratio

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jump to: navigation, search
The golden section is a line segment sectioned into two according to the golden ratio. The total length a + b is to the longer segment a as a is to the shorter segment b.

In mathematics and the arts, two quantities are in the golden ratio if the ratio between the sum of those quantities and the larger one is the same as the ratio between the larger one and the smaller. The golden ratio is an irrational mathematical constant, approximately 1.6180339887.[1]

At least since the Renaissance, many artists and architects have proportioned their works to approximate the golden ratio—especially in the form of the golden rectangle, in which the ratio of the longer side to the shorter is the golden ratio—believing this proportion to be aesthetically pleasing. Mathematicians have studied the golden ratio because of its unique and interesting properties.

The golden ratio is often denoted by the Greek letter phi (Φ or φ). The figure of a golden section illustrates the geometric relationship that defines this constant. Expressed algebraically:

 \frac{a+b}{a} = \frac{a}{b} = \varphi\,.

This equation has as its unique positive solution the algebraic irrational number

\varphi = \frac{1+\sqrt{5}}{2}\approx 1.61803\,39887\ldots\, [1]

Other names frequently used for or closely related to the golden ratio are golden section (Latin: sectio aurea), golden mean, golden number, and the Greek letter phi (Φ).[2][3][4] Other terms encountered include extreme and mean ratio,[5] medial section, divine proportion, divine section (Latin: sectio divina), golden proportion, golden cut,[6] and mean of Phidias.[7][8][9]

Construction of a golden rectangle:
1. Construct a unit square (red).
2. Draw a line from the midpoint of one side to an opposite corner.
3. Use that line as the radius to draw an arc that defines the long dimension of the rectangle.

Two quantities a and b are said to be in the golden ratio φ if:

 \frac{a+b}{a} = \frac{a}{b} = \varphi\,.

This equation unambiguously defines φ.

The right equation shows that a = bφ, which can be substituted in the left part, giving

\frac{b\varphi+b}{b\varphi}=\frac{b\varphi}{b}\,.

Dividing out b yields

\frac{\varphi+1}{\varphi}=\varphi.

Multiplying both sides by φ and rearranging terms leads to:

{\varphi}^2 - \varphi - 1 = 0.

The only positive solution to this quadratic equation is

\varphi = \frac{1 + \sqrt{5}}{2} \approx 1.61803\,39887\dots\,

[edit] History

Mathematician Mark Barr proposed using the first letter in the name of Greek sculptor Phidias, phi, to symbolize the golden ratio. Usually, the lowercase form (φ) is used. Sometimes, the uppercase form (Φ) is used for the reciprocal of the golden ratio, 1/φ.
Michael Maestlin, first to publish a decimal approximation of the golden ratio, in 1597.

The golden ratio has fascinated Western intellectuals of diverse interests for at least 2,400 years:

Some of the greatest mathematical minds of all ages, from Pythagoras and Euclid in ancient Greece, through the medieval Italian mathematician Leonardo of Pisa (Fibonacci) and the Renaissance astronomer Johannes Kepler, to present-day scientific figures such as Oxford physicist Roger Penrose, have spent endless hours over this simple ratio and its properties. But the fascination with the Golden Ratio is not confined just to mathematicians. Biologists, artists, musicians, historians, architects, psychologists, and even mystics have pondered and debated the basis of its ubiquity and appeal.

In fact, it is probably fair to say that the Golden Ratio has inspired thinkers of all disciplines like no other number in the history of mathematics.

Mario Livio, The Golden Ratio: The Story of Phi, The World's Most Astonishing Number

Ancient Greek mathematicians first studied what we now call the golden ratio because of its frequent appearance in geometry. The division of a line into "extreme and mean ratio" (the golden section) is important in the geometry of regular pentagrams and pentagons. The Greeks usually attributed discovery of this concept to Pythagoras or his followers. The regular pentagram, which has a regular pentagon inscribed within it, was the Pythagoreans' symbol.

Euclid's Elements (Greek: Στοιχεῖα) provides the first known written definition of what is now called the golden ratio: "A straight line is said to have been cut in extreme and mean ratio when, as the whole line is to the greater segment, so is the greater to the less."[5] Euclid explains a construction for cutting (sectioning) a line "in extreme and mean ratio", i.e. the golden ratio.[10] Throughout the Elements, several propositions (theorems in modern terminology) and their proofs employ the golden ratio.[11] Some of these propositions show that the golden ratio is an irrational number.

The name "extreme and mean ratio" was the principal term used from the 3rd century BC[5] until about the 18th century.

The modern history of the golden ratio starts with Luca Pacioli's Divina Proportione of 1509, which captured the imagination of artists, architects, scientists, and mystics with the properties, mathematical and otherwise, of the golden ratio.

The first known approximation of the (inverse) golden ratio by a decimal fraction, stated as "about 0.6180340," was written in 1597 by Prof. Michael Maestlin of the University of Tübingen in a letter to his former student Johannes Kepler.[12]

Since the twentieth century, the golden ratio has been represented by the Greek letter Φ or φ (phi, after Phidias, a sculptor who is said to have employed it) or less commonly by Ï„ (tau, the first letter of the ancient Greek root τομή—meaning cut).

Adolf Zeising, whose main interests were mathematics and philosophy, found the golden ratio expressed in the arrangement of branches along the stems of plants and of veins in leaves. He extended his research to the skeletons of animals and the branchings of their veins and nerves, to the proportions of chemical compounds and the geometry of crystals, even to the use of proportion in artistic endeavors. In these phenomena he saw the golden ratio operating as a universal law.[38] Zeising wrote in 1854:

[The Golden Ratio is a universal law] in which is contained the ground-principle of all formative striving for beauty and completeness in the realms of both nature and art, and which permeates, as a paramount spiritual ideal, all structures, forms and proportions, whether cosmic or individual, organic or inorganic, acoustic or optical; which finds its fullest realization, however, in the human form.

OR

a +b is to a as a is to b

WOW....MY HEAD HURTS.

one looks at the equation and says....so what?

another one either accepts and understands the equation and spends hours and days and years researching its beauty

still another one simply wonders what all the fuss is about

and finally another one (of which I am a long standing member) just simply gets a headache and needs to take a nap.

Math solutions and my brain are so far apart that sometimes it actually startles me....and then I look at some of my artwork and I see proportion and spacing mixed with curving geometric scale and I simply get a headache and need to take a nap.

It all comes down to nap time....which proves nothing has really changed since I was kindergarten....except the size of the cot.

Rush is a hoot!

First off I don't listen to Rush Limbaugh (surprise!) except by occasional accident. He happens to be on the Dodger network so there are times I get caught in the Sean Hannity/Rush Limbaugh universe and I listen for as long as I can...which usually means about three to four minutes.

Seriously upset and pissed off people....both of them. If the American conservative voter uses these two guys as their role models then that would explain a lot of the underlying attitude that seems to be permeating the American landscape.

Someone I know and love listens to those guys and the other day told me that he heard that Obama had thrown more parties than any other President in history during the first two months of his Presidency.

SERIOUSLY!
I find it hard to believe that any newly elected President doesn't have to throw a party every weekend for the first six months in office. There has to be so many people to thank for winning an election.

Who keeps tract of parties that a President throws? And looking back through the archives would seem rather tedious so declaring that one President throws more parties than another seems so ridiculous....but I bet Sean and Rush care.

And if you voted for George Bush twice and John McCain then you probably care too....because that's all you got.

A PARTY COMPLAINT!

This country (and most other countries) has some major major problems and they appear to have been started well before the November election.

I went to a party last night and it felt warm, friendly and nice. I think maybe Sean and Rush need to start going to more parties.

I BET THEY ARE PISSED BECAUSE THEY WEREN'T INVITED TO ANY OF THE PARTIES.

Rush is out of his mind if he thinks President Obama should come on his show and debate him. There are numerous officials in Washington that were ELECTED to conduct an ongoing debate with the President of the United States.

RUSH SHOULD RUN FOR SOME TYPE OF OFFICE BUT THAT MEANS GIVING UP HIS $30 MILLION DOLLAR DAY JOB....and that's probably not going to happen.

It hasn't even been two months since Barry took office and yet I keep hearing little comments from the right side of the aisle like....

WELL WHAT'S THE SAVIOR DONE SO FAR?
WHAT'S YOUR OPINION OF WHAT YOUR BUDDY HAS DONE SO FAR?
HE SURE IS A SWEET TALKER, BUT HE DOESN'T SAY ANYTHING!

My buddy and the savior....and a sweet talker.

Hummmm.....I guess there's hope if my buddy is a sweet talking savior.

SURE BEATS THE HOLY CRAP OUT OF WHAT WE HAD BEFORE

I just wish the Dodgers station KABC would get bought by Sean Penn so we could have some great programming instead of one sided opinions.

OK.....that was a big stretch....sorry.

But Sean Penn and Rush Limbaugh would be a great experience....a pay per listening show

How many rocket launchers did you say you needed shipped to Tijuana....100? No problamo senor gang member......

2/28.....go read it again.

CRAZY FREAKING WORLD!

On one hand you have Karen Armstrong trying to bring together the religions of the world and on the other hand you have gangbangers being able to buy any kind of weapon imaginable.

I guess I just have to hope that all the religious fanatics aren't attending an ARMS TRADE SHOW....oh yeah I forgot......

THEY ARE!

MY RESPONSE TO 9/11

I still regard my reaction to 9/11 as pertinent to the existing problem of VARIOUS FAITH AGENDAS and after posting the previous two stories it's quite nice to know that I am not alone.
My style might be singular but at least now I know my thoughts on this matter are shared by many others.

COUNCIL OF CONSCIENCE
is close enough for me and it only took 8 years....thanks to Karen Armstrong

My reaction to 9/11 written on 9/15 2001

I SAW A MOVIE THIS WEEK.....
but the credits never appeared.....

the special effects were unbelievable....so extremely real that I couldn't believe
what I was seeing....

I waited to see who directed this blockbuster I waited to see who wrote the script I waited to see who produced this epic I waited to see who distributed thus huge production but the credits never appeared..... I waited to see who the sound editor was I waited to see who the film editor was I waited to see who the costume designer was I waited to see who wrote the music score but the credits never appeared.....
I ESPECIALLY WAITED TO SEE WHO THE STARS WERE BUT THE CREDITS NEVER APPEARED

AND THEN SLOWLY THE STARS STARTED TO APPEAR.... THE HERO'S NAMES STARTED TO ARISE FROM THE ASHES AND I REALIZED THE FILM WAS A DOCUMENTARY

I WAITED TO SEE WHO THE CAMERAMAN WAS....and discovered that there were hundreds of them....scattered all across the landscape....every angle was covered from every possible viewpoint and so I waited to see who the set designer was.... but the credits never appeared.....

I saw Apocalypse Now
I saw Independence Day
I saw Pearl Harbor
I saw War of the Worlds
I saw every John Wayne war movie
I saw Sergeant York
I saw Battle of the Bulge
I saw Guns of Navarone
I saw Tora Tora Tora
I saw Sound of Music
I saw Star Wars
I saw Star Trek
and I remember always seeing the credits

THE SCARIEST THOUGHT MIGHT BE.....

There are no credits because there was no ending and until THE END appears there will be no credits.....and then it might be a little too late to show the credits except in futuristic history books.....

THE TRUTH IS.....OUR SENSES HAVE BEEN MANIPULATED BY THE MEDIA.....I REALIZE THIS IS NOT A NEW THEORY, BUT WE'VE NEVER HAD A TEST SCREENING QUITE LIKE THE FILM I'VE WATCHED THIS WEEK......

We have seen every form of destruction known to mankind and add the outer space genre and we have seen amazing other forms of destruction beyond earthy boundaries....but there was always credits.

It turns out that the film didn't start on 9/11/01 like everybody thinks....it started much much earlier.

FINDING OUT WHEN IT ACTUALLY DID START MIGHT BE THE ONLY REAL WAY TO DISCOVER WHEN THE END MIGHT APPEAR, AND THE CREDITS MIGHT FINALLY ROLL ACROSS THE SCREEN.

LEARNING HOW THE ANGER AND THE HATE WAS CREATED WILL BE OUR ONLY WAY TO UNDERSTAND THE FILM MAKER'S MOTIVATION.

PUTTING ONESELF IN THE MIND OF THE FILM MAKER MIGHT BE THE ONLY WAY TO KNOW WHAT STIMULATED THIS HUGE PROJECT.

THE ONLY WAY TO DO THAT....IS TO
DISCUSS...
CONVERSE...
COMMUNICATE...
WITH THE CREATOR OF THIS INCREDIBLE MULTI-DIMENSIONAL MEDIA EVENT

UNDERSTANDING THE REASONS, EVEN IF ONE DOESN'T AGREE WITH THEM, ALLOWS ONE TO KNOW WHAT AVENUE MUST BE TRAVELED IN SEARCH OF RESOLVENT

IF THIS IS TRULY A HOLY WAR THEN THE ANSWERS ARE GOING TO BE EXTREMELY HARD TO UNDERSTAND...THE REASONS ARE NOT GOING TO MAKE ANY SENSE UNLESS YOU ARE ON THE SIDE OF THAT CERTAIN BELIEF SYSTEM....

HOW IRONIC IS THE TERM HOLY WAR?????

???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

THE IDEA THAT ANYONE ON THIS PLANET REALLY BELIEVES THAT GOD APPROVES OF ANY ACTION WHICH CAUSES THE DESTRUCTION OF THE SOUL TEMPLE...BETTER KNOWN AS THE HUMAN BODY... IS AN IDEA THAT REEKS OF
INSANITY.....

INSANITY REGARDING SPIRITUAL IDEAS IS NOT A NEW FORM OF INSANITY...AND PROBABLY DATES BACK FURTHER THAN ANY TYPE OF INSANITY KNOWN TO MANKIND

WE, AS A SPECIES, HAVE CHOSEN TO DEFINE OUR AGGRESSIVE ACTIONS BY USING GOD'S NAME MORE TIMES THAN CAN EVER BE DISCUSSED.

EVERY ORGANIZED RELIGION ON THIS PLANET HAS ILLUSTRATED EXTREMELY POOR JUDGMENT WHEN DEALING WITH OTHER ORGANIZED RELIGIOUS BELIEFS.

FOR US, AS CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES, TO UNDERSTAND ANYTHING ABOUT THIS LAST WEEK WE MUST BEGIN AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH BELIEF SYSTEM
WE MUST STUDY AND WE MUST LEARN
WE MUST ACCEPT AND WE MUST TOLERATE DIFFERENCES

AND ABOVE ALL ELSE WE MUST STOP THINKING THAT
GOD
APPROVES OF
ANY VIOLENT ACTION TO ACHIEVE AN END RESULT

THE
SOUL MUST EMERGE FROM THIS TRAGEDY...FROM VICTIMS AND FROM PERPETRATORS...FROM OBSERVERS AND REPORTERS...FROM CHILDREN AND FROM NATIONS

DO WE HAVE THE POWER?
DO WE HAVE THE ABILITY TO USE OUR TRUE POWER TO OVERCOME THE HOSTILITY?

WILL WE ONLY USE THE TYPE OF POWER THAT CREATES MORE DESTRUCTION OR WILL WE TRULY BEGIN TO DEMONSTRATE A STRONGER POWER?

A POWER THAT IS BEING TESTED PERHAPS AS NEVER BEFORE...A POWER THAT EXISTS IN EACH AND EVERY SOUL ON THIS PLANET...A POWER THAT MUST SURFACE FOR GLOBAL
PEACE TO HAVE A CHANCE AT FINALLY ARRIVING ON OUR PLANET.

WE ARE AT A CROSSROADS OF UNBELIEVABLE PROPORTIONS AND IF WE ARE UNABLE TO USE THE POWER OF LOVE AT THIS CROSSROADS, THE PHYSICAL HAVOC WHICH WILL RESULT, BECAUSE OF THAT FAILURE, WILL SEND THIS PLANET INTO AN ARENA OF CHAOS...WELL BEYOND OUR WILDEST IMAGINATIONS.

WE NEED TO GET THE STARS TOGETHER
WE NEED TO GET THE SCRIPT WRITERS TOGETHER
WE NEED TO GET THE DIRECTORS TOGETHER
WE NEED TO GET THE PRODUCERS TOGETHER
WE NEED TO GET THE STUDIOS TOGETHER
WE NEED TO GET THE PUBLICISTS TOGETHER
WE NEED TO GET THE CRITICS TOGETHER
WE NEED TO GET THE DISTRIBUTORS TOGETHER
WE NEED TO GET THE FILM EDITORS TOGETHER
WE NEED TO GET THE SOUND EDITORS TOGETHER
WE NEED TO GET THE SET DESIGNERS TOGETHER
WE NEED TO GET THE MAKE-UP ARTISTS TOGETHER
WE NEED TO GET THE GRIPS TOGETHER
WE NEED TO GET THE CATERERS TOGETHER
AND
THEN
WE
NEED
TO DEMONSTRATE OUR ABILITY TO
LISTEN AND LEARN
AND THEN LOVE WHAT WE HEAR
AND LOVE WHO WE HEAR IT FROM
AND THEN LOVE THAT WE MIGHT HAVE DIFFERENT WAYS OF TRYING TO REACH THE SAME GOALS.

OUR DIFFERENT METHODS OF HOW WE LOVE GOD SEEMS TO BE
ONE OF THE MAJOR ISSUES.............SO LET'S HOLD A
COUNCIL OF FAITH

AND COVER IT LIKE NO EVENT HAS EVER BEEN COVERED

LET'S GIVE IT AS MUCH PRIME TIME COVERAGE AS WE GIVE TRAGIC EPISODES

LET THE WORLD WATCH AND PARTICIPATE

BRING EVERY RELIGION TO THE
COUNCIL OF FAITH

AND ONCE AND FOR ALL LET'S PUT THEM ALL ON TRIAL

LET'S BRING UP EVERY ATROCITY EVER COMMITTED IN GOD'S HOLY NAME

IF WE ARE GOING TO THE VICTIM OF A
HOLY WAR THEN WE NEED TO MAKE IT A
HOLY SOLUTION

AND IF THE
COUNCIL OF FAITH LASTS A 100 YEARS....SO BE IT.

EVERY DAY IT COULD BE COVERED LIVE

EVERY NETWORK COULD TAKE A TURN
EVERY RADIO STATION COULD TAKE A TURN
EVERY NEWSPAPER COULD TAKE A TURN

THE MEDIA COULD BE USED IN A WAY THAT HAS NEVER BEEN DEMONSTRATED AND GOVERNMENTS CAN HELP PAY FOR THE BROADCAST BECAUSE GOVERNMENTS HAVE TO PAY FOR CLEANING UP THE VIOLENT ACTIONS... SO WHY SHOULDN'T THEY HELP PAY FOR PEACEFUL SOLUTIONS.

ADVERTISERS WOULD ONLY BE ALLOWED TO BUY HOUR BLOCKS AND THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO INTERRUPT THE PROCESS WITH SILLY JINGLES OR VISUALS.

IF THIS
COUNCIL OF FAITH IS ALLOWED TO TAKE PLACE THEN PERHAPS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OUR HISTORY, AS A SPECIES, WE CAN TRULY SEE THE CREDITS AND HAVE AN ENDING THAT SHOWS OUR APPRECIATION TO GOD FOR HAVING GIVEN US A SOUL...WHICH ALLOWS US TO LOVE
NOT
DESTROY
