2014 almost finished

As far as personal responses to what I do,  I've probably never had a more satisfying year.  At the same time, as I observe planetary issues, I've probably never seen more goofy or cruel indications of human stupidity. 

Ignoring Climate Change might be stupidest thing we do....because it affects the future of the human race.

But of course behavior as a result of our religious belief systems causes immediate stress.

Obviously the situation in Syria IS off the charts for WTF behavior.  The differences one has with one's behavior in how to honor the Creator is always going to cause angst....but when details can't even be discussed then another entire level of insanity develops.

It seems that talking to a radical Islamic follower about their issues just ends up with God is Great and infidels must perish.  I have not read the Koran but it would seem that instructions in the 7th Century might be archaic and slightly outdated....especially when it comes to violent action.

Just like stories from the Bible, which have been altered to suit the corporate growth of Christianity
and the mystic of Judaism, need to be read with an enjoyment of story telling, not the only words of GOD.

The treatment of women in the Islamic faith and the role they play really makes no sense.

The treatment of women in the Catholic faith and the role they are allowed to play really makes no sense.

The Pope could actually start to effect an overall change by simply making a few changes. First and foremost Priest should be allowed to marry and woman should be allowed to be ordained.

Those simple two issues would solve a lot of problems in the Catholic Church.

When I read about human trafficking I just get really pissed off. 
Why would any law enforcement agency in the world allow this to take place? 
If they combined resources and then used snipers to eliminate the assholes in charge of taking human beings from the families...then fairly quickly, that problem would be greatly reduced. 

The church, Malibu United Methodist, where I just had my latest The Other God Particles show,
started an organization called The Freedom Road Project to help bring awareness to the Malibu community regarding this matter.  Every church in the world should have a similar organization that talks about this issue during every single service....and doesn't stop talking until the issue becomes a non-issue.

And don't try to tell me that something like human trafficking will always exist as long as assholes have power and money.  Most of those assholes have families of their own.  I know for sure they had mothers and fathers at some point in their life and most likely those parents didn't do a very good job when it came to the category of morality instruction.

Unless of course the assholes took over a family business and expanded the revenue stream.

Remember one thing....people stealing people (and that's truly not a Streisand song) and transporting people for sex and slavery is done for one reason and one reason only......MONEY.

IT HAS TO STOP!

Now if it turns out that some parents are selling their children then we have an entirely different issue.

ESTIMATED OVER $30 BILLION IN INTERNATIONAL HUMAN TRAFFICKING TRADE IN 2010.....and that number has probably increased dramatically as the price of everything else rises.

Regarding the Ferguson situation in Missouri.........only thing I can say......the guy who died appears to have been an asshole (film of him stealing cigars from the shop and pushing that little man)) but assholes who steal things should just be TASERED until their dicks fall off.....not shot to death.

And using a TASER seems to be a departmental issue......I'm just thinking that every police officer in the country should have one or two on their belt. 

Maybe St. Louis hasn't put it on their budget.

They should...and they should do it now.....and then go out and taser a few assholes just to show that they don't have to kill everyone.

Riots and burning buildings usually turns out to be an unemployment issue and a fast way to get some things needed around the house. A really stupid fast way, because now there's no place to shop........except for Wal-Mart, which I noticed never seems to be involved...either because they don't have a store anywhere near that part of town or they don't have a lot of windows.  Costco uses that same design concept.  Not a lot of window shopping in the big box retailer era.

On the bright side of human behavior.....Taylor Swift got the Dick Clark lifetime achievement award at the age of 24 from the AMA....just pause for a sec and think about that.  If Taylor and the Catholic Church got together they could change the world.

Showing in a church can be rather dual-quad

It's a honor to be the first artist to have an art show in the Malibu United Methodist Church and the only thing I'm absolutely sure about is.....this isn't a gallery.

I think I can stretch the boundaries a wee bit but I have to be respectful.
