Last of 2006

Normally I write in Word and then copy/paste to site, but since this is the last entry in the year 2006 I thought I'd work inside....
Working in a program other than Word is a tad bit like being able to sing until you turn on the tape recorder. I realize this program is fully deletable, as is Word, but I'm not quite comfortable.
I was going to use this time to wrap up 2006, but have decided to look forward instead of back.
2007
Double O7
It's really cool if you are a Ian Fleming fan, and also cool if you are into Numerology.
Nine becomes the total of our western calendar year, and nine is a interesting digit. It's fun to look up Numerology and all of its "speculative gibberish." Just like it's fun to check out your Astrology sign, and other fantasy interpretations of human behavior....such as the Bible, Koran. Torah, Veda and the Tripitaka.
The most amazing fact about Divine revelation is that, according to who you speak with, God stopped revealing, shortly after revealing to said group, whatever needed to be revealed.
The Catholics say it stopped with Mathew, Mark, Luke and John....but then we find out that James, Thomas, Mary, and Judas had some things to say....and we didn't find that out until 1945.
Every single religion simply thinks God's pencil sharpener broke after revealing what needed to be revealed.
I'm fairly open to the following concept.....
That God not only still reveals information...but does so in new and fantastically creative ways.
WAYS THAT WOULD ASTOUND.....
If each of us sat down and attempted to record the various ways that a Supreme
Being would reveal information....the list could be quite interesting and extremely long.
Keep in mind that when dealing with a Supreme Being, one is talking about
UNLIMITED CAPABILITIES.
UNLIMITED CAPABILITIES
UNLIMITED CAPABILITIES......and capabilities that have always been....and will always be......available.
The problem with religions....seems to center on the one aspect that has always amazed me.
RELIGIONS OF THE WORLD SEEM TO LIMIT THE CAPABILITIES OF A SUPREME BEING.
I CAN'T SAY THAT RELIGIONS OF THE UNIVERSE PLACE LIMITS ON THE SUPREME BEING, BECAUSE I DON'T THINK I'VE EVER MET ANYONE WHO BELONGS TO ONE OF THOSE RELIGIONS...even though I've had some questions about certain creatures that have popped up in the last 100 years.
I'm not sure Albert Einstein was from Earth....and I'm also not sure about Dolly Parton...and there's a good possibility that Gandhi might have snuck pass the Galaxy border patrol.
Limiting a Supreme Beings capabilities would seem like a very silly thing to do....and when one breaks down all religious doctrine (that claims to be divine revelations) one immediately notices that not only are limitations applied but the door has been closed to further discussions regarding the matter.
Arrogance on the part of Religious leaders might truly be the highest form of arrogance on the planet.
My hope for 2007 is that human beings simply stop placing limits on the capabilities of a Supreme Being.....and keep in mind that if.....
GOD IS LOVE....then all religious doctrine which does not end in the goal of attempting to demonstrate love.....is
HOGWASH

LESS HOGWASH IN 2007
and this might be the only time in my life that I have used the term HOGWASH....
and the fact that I used it in my last entry of 2006
means
one thing
and one thing only
NO MORE HOGWASH
in
2006

Golf

12-13-06

Wednesday morning.

My father, who will be 88 next August, treated me to a round of golf yesterday. He owed it to me because of the images that are ingrained in my brain from a book he recently gave me to read.
The book is “Flyboys” by James Bradley, which is the follow up to his best selling “Flag of Our Fathers.” When the movie by Clint Eastwood came out awhile back, I took him to see it and it was the first time in 15 years that he had been to a movie theater.

Our individual military experiences cover the entire range of options.

In 1942 he joined the Marine Corp. In 1969 I dodged the draft…and being a life long Dodger fan I saw no inconsistencies in my behavior. I’m fairly certain he supported my actions but after all the dust settles…he’s still a marine. We’ve talked about his experiences during WW11 but we haven’t spent a ton of time talking about my experiences in Northern California during 1969 to 1975. Once a pardon was granted the subject became moot and no further discussions were necessary. It was time to get a job,
so I went to work for him and we worked together for the next 15 years.
We both feel that we did what was necessary regarding the military. Of course his fraternity is much stronger than mine and could definitely kick our fraternity’s ass. I mean really, how hard would it be for Marines to defeat conscientious objectors in hand to hand combat? It can get kind of ugly when you consider the actual event…..which brings me back to the book “Flyboys” and the information obtained in the first 100 pages, which I started reading Sunday night.
The images, that were burned into my mind (and please note that I’ve only read 133 pages of a 492 page book) from the Japanese “Spirit Warriors” treatment of the Chinese, are not images that one likes to have before falling asleep at night, and since most of my novel reading is done while getting ready to fall asleep, the images enter my mind and just linger there next to past ugly literary moments…like “The Exorcist.” I realize it’s been a while since that book came out, but I was raised a Catholic and it will never go away.

I fell asleep Sunday night totally thinking the Japanese were insane.

I learned the next night that images can be regulated to secondary status when one encounters information that goes far beyond the visual senses. As I was reading page 96 and 97, the following information appeared on the page. “America would cause the deaths of more than 250,000 Filipinos- men, women and children-from the beginning of the hostilities on February 4,1899, to July 4, 1902, when President Roosevelt declared the Philippines pacified.”
On page 101 the following information was the last thing I read before falling asleep.
“President Theodore Roosevelt excused his army’s atrocities in the Philippines and hailed ‘the bravery of American soldiers’ who fought ‘for the triumph of civilization over the black chaos of savagery and barbarism.’ To Roosevelt, the extermination of hundreds of thousands of noncombatant civilians and defenseless POWs in the Philippines represented …the most glorious war in the nation’s history.”

I fell asleep Monday night totally thinking the entire human species was insane.

The next morning( yesterday) I woke up and headed to the golf course to meet my dad. The first thing I said when arriving at the clubhouse was, “ the book you gave me is not a good book to fall asleep to…the images are not peaceful.” He answered, “I know what you mean….but it gets worse.”

I then explained that the images were diffused by the information regarding the 250,000 Filipinos. How could I not know this information? His next statement blew my mind …”.I didn’t know about it either, until I read the book.”
My father is an “avid reader” and over the years I’ve known him to read 2 to 3 books in a week. He has read most things about WW1 and 11, and has watched all of the shows on the Discovery and History channel regarding military actions.
He’s a Marine and he likes that stuff….and he’s 87 and he deserves to like anything he wants. How could he not know about this military action under President Teddy Roosevelt? And keep in mind, we are only talking about 103 years ago.
The Japanese behavior in China in 1937 was appalling and barbaric…but the question I have is…”What if they read about America in the Philippines in 1900?” And since they are geographically positioned fairly close to the Philippines….what if they received first hand information…at the time.?” They would simply study the facts and say….”America has the right way to eliminate enemies….and secure land for themselves.”
Then on top of that information they learn about the genocide of the American Indian and all gloves come off.
Honestly speaking….
.EVERYBODY SHOULD BE ASHAMED. And every day should be spent trying to rectify the behavior patterns over the last 400 years….by the victors of… colonial terrorism. And terrorism, that I might add, which was usually justified by some religious doctrine, which in turn resulted in large increases in some organizations bank account.
Rectifying the behavior patterns is simply done by trying to help the disenfranchised THROUGHOUT THE WORLD, AND MAKING SURE NO ONE GOES HUNGRY OR DOESN’T GET PROPER MEDICAL ATTENTION….kind of a penance.
Malaria kills millions of people every year and Bill Gates has given over 700 million dollars to help with this problem. 700 million dollars is 300 million dollars less than The United States of America spends to try and create a new IRAQ….EVERY WEEK!

ONE BILLION DOLLARS A WEEK!

THE EXPENSES FROM TWO FREAKIN WEEKS OF WAR COULD PROBABLY END MALARIA THROUGHOUT THE WORLD.
400 BILLION DOLLARS IS THE LATEST ESTIMATE ON THE WAR IN IRAQ.

EVERYBODY
SHOULD
BE
ASHAMED.

And I’m not just talking about America…..I’m talking about anybody who can’t seem to figure out how to achieve improvements, to their situation, without the use of violence.

Oh yeah…weren’t we talking about golf?

My dad proceeded to take me out on the course and whoop my ass….again. He shot his age and I shot an 89. And he has this thing he does on about the 14th hole, when he’s losing, where he declares that he’s just too tired and he’s not even sure if he can finish. That information goes into my compassion compartment and suddenly I can’t hit the ball, and he’s paring everything. Yesterday I was four shots ahead on 14 and there was a 6 shot swing on the last four holes…..right after the infamous….”oh, I’ve lost it…got nothing today…don’t think I can even finish,” speech.
Must be some Marine Corps tactic that I’m unaware of…which makes sense since I’m unaware of ANY Marine Corps tactic.
Semper Fi, Peace/Love and thanks for the whooping. I look forward to our next round, but I’m going to wear ear plugs when we get to the last four holes.

Study Group

12-7-06

LA TIMES Headline:

IRAQ POLICY ‘NO LONGER VIABLE’
PANEL ADVISES BUSH TO WAGE ‘DIPLOMATIC OFFENSIVE’

Turning to page A11 a picture dominates the lower half of the page. This picture lists all ten members of the IRAQ STUDY GROUP.

There are five Republicans and five Democrats, which is politically correct. The glaring problem I see is the age of each person in this group.

The youngest is 67 and the oldest is 79. Where’s the youth opinion? And by youth I’m referring to 38 to 59……

Are you telling me that highly respected young minds aren’t interested in helping to establish policy structure regarding this incredibly complex issue? Where are the younger college professors?

How about one under the age of 50?
How about one under the age of 60?

And why isn’t the Rand Corporation represented in this group? I thought think tanks were a necessary part of our political structure. Don’t huge amounts of money get spent to find out what the think tanks….think?

Obviously one would have to read the report to get a full picture of what they are saying but when I look at the panel I wonder…..

….. how many of these people still have their own teeth? I wonder if any one of these people uses a computer.? How many of them have personal e-mail addresses that they use on a regular basis? How many of them have gone on MY-SPACE to check it out?
How many have BLOGGED just for the fun of it? How many of these members have bought something on E-BAY?

I’m sure they all have cell phones…..but I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that a few still go old school regarding their phone calls…..after all, they all have people working for them, and their people have people working for them, so messages are most likely delivered on a fairly regular basis.

I wonder how many of these panel members stay up past 9:30. I wonder if any of these people have ever played a video game. I wonder if any of these people use DVR machines on their TV’s. I wonder if any of these people owns an
I-POD. I wonder how many movies these people have gone to in the last 5 years. I wonder how many of these people have purchased running shoes in the last 10 years.

I wonder how many of these people have smoked pot in the last 25 years….or in their lifetime. I wonder how many people on this panel prefer wine or beer to hard liquor.
I wonder how many people on this panel still smoke cigarettes. I wonder how many people on this panel have tried snowboarding. I wonder how many of them still drive their own car? I wonder how many of these people fill up their own gas tanks while driving their own car. Are any of these members a vegan? Do any members personally know a vegan, except for a grandchild?

I wonder how many rap or rock songs they’ve listened to in the last 10 years.

I don’t want to get crude, but seriously…..how many organisms have been experienced by this panel collectively in the last 15 years? I don’t really care about that number but someone might…..keep in mind there are 2.2 million people living in Federal prisons….and someone should address their curiosities.

Now, I realize that while trying to understand worldly situations, both political and moral, it probably is best to have people with experience. The kind of experience is also very important and that awareness obviously leads to an older segment of our political structure…….BUT HERE’S THE RUB

THE OLDER SEGMENT OF OUR POLITICAL STRUCTURE HAS GOTTEN US INTO THIS FREAKIN MESS, AND MAYBE IT’S TIME TO CALL IN THE YOUNG CREATIVE MINDS THAT ARE REALLY MAKING THIS COUNTRY ROCK AND ROLL.

CALL IN THE 40 YEAR OLD HARVARD PROFESSOR THAT SPECIALIZES IN MIDDLE EASTERN STUDIES.

CALL IN THE 47 YEAR OLD YALE PROFESSOR WHO SPECIALIZES IN MIDDLE EASTERN RELIGIOUS FACTIONS.

I’m not asking for Madonna or Brad and Jolie to join the panel….I’m just wondering how much awareness of current realities….. this panel possesses. I’m just wondering if the situation in IRAQ doesn’t need some younger politically aware minds that aren’t presently employed by the military.

I’m just wondering if alternative solutions are on any table….anywhere….anytime…or is the table just a tad bit too old to handle any more information?

Time for bed…

Barry Bros and Ford Boys

12-28-06

And the Dodgers worse nightmare just took place. The Giants signed the other Barry….Zito…..18 million a year for seven years. Now they have the Barry/Barry show in San Francisco and most berries are very good for you. Tons of anti-oxidants…not to mention home run records and the nastiest breaking ball in the game. It was an unexpected signing because the Mets and the Yankees were rumored to be the final options.
This is not good news for the Dodgers, but then again….one Barry could be plucked from the vine by the courtroom and the other Barry could tear his rotary cuff and the Barry/Barry show could come to an abrupt ending. Not that I’m wishing them bad luck….it’s just baseball….and things happen. Of course there’s also the other side….Barry Zito could win 24 games and the Cy Young award….and the other Barry could hit 35 home runs and break Hank Aaron’s record and the Giants could win the pennant….and the World Series. And of course I could win the lottery and have two of my scripts made into movies and get my book published and win the Pulitzer….and have a monkey fly out of my ass…..

This morning I was going to write a fluffy column about Gerald Ford, before I saw a picture on the front page of the LA TIMES.
The picture shows President Ford in 1975 with two of his new appointees…. Donald Rumsfeld, Defense Secretary and Dick Cheney, Chief of Staff.

Take a moment to reflect………..

Take a few more moments………..

Although Gerald Ford might have easily been the best choice to replace his boss…the simple fact of the matter is…..Gerald Ford’s boss is Gerald Ford’s legacy…and I just don’t feel like thinking about Richard Nixon….so therefore it’s almost impossible to write a column about Gerald Ford. Suffice to say….he was a nice guy…a good husband and he loved to play golf. I wonder when he played his last round and I wonder what he shot? Did he beat his age?
But that picture just sticks somewhere deep…Rumsfeld and Cheney? Gerald Ford brought Rumsfeld and Cheney into the political arena? It makes Gerald Ford’s legacy a real question mark.
It will take awhile to sort out just how negative, or positive, those two appointees will prove to be to the overall historical development of the United States of America. Keep in mind….we are young…we are still formulating how to operate a democracy within the structure of a technological revolution. We made it through colonialization( it should be a word) and through industrialization and now we are testing the waters on techno and science….technosciencelization.

Rumsfeld and Cheney? I’m wondering if that bastion of liberalness, THE LA TIMES, ran that photograph just to piss some of us…..off. Of course some of the LA TIMES readers looked at that picture and thought….”how quaint…I had forgotten those two great Americans were part of the Ford team.”

Those of us, who don’t regard those two as great Americans, saw the picture and were somewhat surprised. Those of us, who were just happy to get rid of Tricky Dick, might not have been paying close enough attention to the bodies chosen to replace the departed team. But seriously….who would have thunk?
30 years later those two guys are still front and center. I know Rumsfeld’s gone but his policies are still…very much intact. And Cheney…hell, everybody says he’s the actual President.
30 years later and we have Gerald Ford to thank.
Well…thank you Gerald and may your soul rest in peace
while the rest of our souls…….
stand in war.

Lyrics to "FAREWELL"

These lyrics came to me in a most unusual fashion. An important friend, Tom Sullivan, had given me a CD on Celtic music. There were various artists...but I've never really listened to the CD, except for the first song. If you want to feel the moment and how these lyrics were created go to: www.johndoan.com/music.html and click on FAREWELL and listen to it... as you read my lyrics.

The first time I listened to this song....I HEARD WORDS.......seriously.
Since the song is only instrumental....I got a little nervous. But then I relaxed and listened again and this time
I wrote down the words....

WHERE THESE WORDS CAME FROM.....
IS A BEAUTIFUL QUESTION....
and a question that probably cannot be answered in our physical reality.
But speculation can run rampant....and rampant running speculation
is at the core of
human endeavors
as we close out the year

LYRICS TO.....FAREWELL ......by John Doan

THERE'S A SOUL IN THE LIFE OF THE LAND WHERE WE LIVE
IT'S CLEAR
IT'S CLEAN
IT'S FRESH
AND IT'S OURS

IT DOESN'T CARE WHERE WE'VE COME FROM
IT DOESN'T ASK WHO ARE
JUST
DO WE LOVE
WHERE WE STAND
AT THIS TIME

WE CAN DRINK ALL ITS WATER
AND MINE ALL ITS COAL
BUT WHEN WE MIX THE TWO TOGETHER
IT TROUBLES HER SOUL

WE CAN TEST ALL THE BOMBS
AND DESTROY EVERY LAST TREE
AND THE ONLY THING IT REALLY DOES
IS ELIMINATE YOU AND ME

THE HARM THAT WE BRING
DOESN'T BOTHER THE LAND
WE ONLY HURT OURSELVES
BY FAILING TO UNDERSTAND

THAT THERE'S A SOUL IN THE LIFE OF THE LAND WHERE WE LIVE
IT'S CLEAR
IT'S CLEAN
IT'S FRESH
AND IT'S OURS

IT DOESN'T CARE WHERE WE'VE COME FROM
IT DOESN'T ASK WHO WE ARE
JUST
DO WE LOVE
WHERE WE STAND
AT THIS TIME

WE ARE GIVEN ALL THE TREASURES
THAT ANYONE CAN USE
BUT IF WE DON'T HAVE A VISION
THAN ALL WE DO IS LOSE

WE DUMP OUR PROBLEMS
IN EVERY OCEAN, RIVER AND STREAM
WE LIVE BY A CODE OF CONSUMPTION
THAT DARKENS EVERY DREAM

WE THINK THAT OIL IS OUR GOLD
BECAUSE IT MOVES MACHINES AND MAN
AND ALL IT REALLY DOES
IS REMOVE THE SPRINGS OF LAND

WE NEED THAT SPECIAL CRUDE
BECAUSE WE'VE IGNORED OTHER WAYS
AND ALL WE'VE ENDED UP WITH
IS COUGHING THROUGH A HAZE

OUR CHILDREN'S CHILDREN
WILL REALLY PAY THE PRICE
AND JUST THAT THOUGHT ALONE
DOESN'T MAKE US VERY NICE

AND WHEN THE DUST HAS FINALLY SETTLED
AND ALL THE BILLS HAVE BEEN PAID
IT IS ONLY THE SIMPLE FACT
THAT THERE'S ONE MISTAKE WE'VE MADE

WE THOUGH WE CONTROLLED THE EARTH
BY DOMINATING THE LAND
AND IT SIMPLY COMES DOWN TO ONE THING
THAT WE
JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND

THAT THERE'S A SOUL IN THE LIFE OF THE LAND WHERE WE LIVE
IT'S CLEAR
IT'S CLEAN
IT'S FRESH
AND IT'S OURS

IT DOESN'T CARE WHERE WE'VE COME FROM
IT DOESN'T ASK WHO WE ARE
JUST
DO WE LOVE
WHERE WE STAND
AT THIS TIME

letter

Letter to screen writer

THIS IS AN EXPLANATION OF TERMS THAT ARE BEING USED IN THIS FIELD.
(PAGE 55...JUNE-AUGUST 2005 “WHAT IS ENLIGHTNEMENT”)

DEVELOPMENTAL TERMINOLOGY

An integral approach to human development sees individuals and cultures evolving through various stages, or levels. There are many developmental models that illustrate this, but one of the most accessible and commonly used is Spiral Dynamics, based on the work of Clare Graves. This model identifies each stage of development by color, and these are divided into two tiers: first tier spans from primitive hunter-gatherer consciousness to postmodern, pluralistic consciousness. Second tier represents the highest levels, of which Spiral Dynamics has identified only two or three currently present in humanity. While each level is more comprehensive than its predecessor, it is only from second tier consciousness that there can be a true appreciation and integration of all previous levels. Some theorists, including Ken Wilber and Andrew Cohen, also use the term third tier to refer to all levels that are beyond the scope of most Western models, or those states and stages that reflect transpersonal, nondual, or enlightened models of consciousness.

This is from a series of discussions that they do in every issue.
One of the paragraphs, in their recent discussion, really hit home after meeting with you the other night.

Cohen: It is an uphill battle. But there’s a point where one’s center of gravity shifts in a fundamental way. We could say this shift would be the beginning of a genuine transformation or leap to a higher stage of development. The way I would describe it would be a shift in the balance of power within the individual from the ego to what I call the authentic self. When the balance of power shifts not less than fifty-one percent to the authentic self, a fundamental corner has been turned. Now the individual is able to wholeheartedly direct their energy to the evolution of consciousness because the resistance, the fundamental resistance, has been overpowered by the ecstatic compulsion to evolve that is the nature of the authentic self.

Katie....what is obviously needed is your “device” by the Tibetan monks. The beauty of script writing is that one can create any reality. My question is....The”device” you spoke about… did you create it, or was it something that you learned about? Keep working on the story....it obviously has substance.....and an audience as I show in the next part of my note.

One other very important article in the latest issue is called "GOD GOES TO THE MOVIES. " Page 22

This article refers to SPIRITUAL CINEMA.
Founded by Stephen Simon, “Spiritual Cinema Circle” is a DVD of the month club whereas this company delivers between three and six films-features, documentaries, and shorts- to members....with subject matter relating to the spiritual side of life.

Marketed towards sixty million Americans who consider themselves “spiritual but not religious.”

Currently they have almost eighteen thousand members from sixty countries around the world. Hundreds more are signing up everyday.

If you would read one of my scripts that I wrote 12 years ago you will quickly realize that it was written and conceived well before it’s time.

I am extremely encouraged by the sign posts that point to a wider acceptance of new spiritually based endeavors within the film industry.

I sincerely hope you can find the time to read one of my films.

Peace

Michael Timothy McAlevey

ARE YOU?

Are you the valley I should photograph
Or the mountain I can climb
Are you a song that I must sing
Or the poem I will rhyme

Are you a movie I might write
Or a melody just lurking in my mind
Maybe just a memory
Of something I can’t find

This thing you are
That I can’t seem to know
Just lingers very softly
Somewhere inside my soul

It’s a peaceful image
And incredibly beautiful to see
But it’s also very strange
That you’re not lying next to me

The energy that fills this void
Is strong and seems so real
But when I reach over to touch you
There’s nothing that I can feel

Are you the valley I should photograph
Or the mountain I can climb
Are you a song that I must write
Or the poem I will rhyme

If it’s just a dream
With no physical reality
Then it becomes a cosmic joke
That heaven plays on me

The laughter that is heard
From angels, demons and in between beings
Explains very clearly
Why no one hears my screams

Ha ha ha always overshadows boo hoo hoo
No matter where you live

A good laugh is better than a good tear
If that’s all you have to give

And I understand the truth
Why you can’t come to me
Even though I think
It’s somewhere you might like to be

I’m not real
in the space that is your dream
just a whisper in some illusion
of what love might mean

but I know you are out there
as I am in here
and sometime it would be nice
if this vision could be clear

maybe just a quick flash
that lights up my heart
and let’s me know that you know
that something just might start

I can’t make you come to me
No matter what I say
Just like there’s nothing I can do
To make you go away

Are you the valley I should photograph?
Or the mountain I can climb?
Are you a song that I must write?
Or the poem I will rhyme?

The process of writing a love song, a love story, a love letter or a poem about love really does enter the realm of illusionary triangulation.

One knows what one knows
One hopes for what one hopes for
And then everything in between controls the reality

We can attempt to understand why something might not be happening and yet there is that place that lives inside our minds that really lets us know that we don’t really have a clue.

And that maybe we aren’t suppose to know

Which really pisses me off

It’s one thing if I can’t find the answers to questions that determine my state of being, it’s another thing if I’m not suppose to play inside that type of dream.
That is where the Universal joke starts to take shape and somehow dominates my time…..and always leaves me wondering with something I can’t rhyme.

Why should I care
if the games not fair
I’m not the one who set the rules

Can’t I just ignore the facts and simply laugh
Just like other fools

Does something need to happen when searching for a truth? Does a lighting bolt of insight need to strike me through my roof? Does an inspirational moment need to break inside my mind? And does it really matter if you get drunk on beer or wine? Has anything ever taken the place of love since the dawning of mankind? And of course has anyone ever seen inside my twisted little mind?

I share things that get put down on solid molecular matter, but does it matter?

I create colorful designs that seem to have designed
themselves
in spite of using my hands
my time
and my
imagination

I feel very little control
When creating
The flow

And then the real work begins….filling in

Choosing colors doesn’t require energy
And some might say that’s quite apparent
And others might feel that I ponder long and hard over hues and shades….

It’s actually fun to watch what my hands select for color

It’s a part that seems to be outside of me
Much like the love that I don’t have lying next to me

And is the reason
that I continue to ask

Are you the valley I should photograph
Or the mountain I can climb
Are you a song that I must write
Or the poem I will rhyme

A Fish Story

December 14, 2006

Today’s LA TIMES lead story shows McCain beating Clinton 50 to 36 percent. The poll was conducted by LATIMES/BLOOMBERG and consisted of 1,489 people, nationally. I was going to devote some time to this poll but on page A5 a story caught my eye…a story that probably is more important than a poll regarding an election TWO YEARS from now.
Hopefully it’s more important, but then again depending on the readers it might not even be a story. Republicans reading this won’t even get past the headline….
Yangtze dolphin extinct, experts say
I’ve been asking this teaser question for years…..”What’s the smallest political organization in the world?” Usually after a blank stare and no answer, I give the answer.
“The smallest political organization in the world is the RSW….REPUBLICANS TO SAVE THE WHALES. It has an office in Washington with one guy waiting 30 years for the first phone call.”
So again I say goodbye to the Republican readers and go forward with my story.

(Article by Mitchell Landsburg)
Beijing- “After a fruitless six-week expedition up and down the Yangtze River, an international team of scientists concluded Wednesday that the baiji, a freshwater dolphin that was one of world’s oldest species, is almost certainly extinct.”

Later in the story Mr. Landsburg tells us….”The baiji, a beloved creature known as ‘the goddess of the Yangtze,’ was believed to date back 20 million years and was once a common sight as it cavorted in the river.”

Now let’s assume that some of the readers, still reading, are part of the Religious Right or strict followers of the Bible.
Say goodbye to them because everything was only created 10,000 years ago…so the 20 million number just doesn’t make any rational sense….and yes I did use the word rational.
So, now imagine that there are a small handful of readers left…of which you are one.
I want you to wonder about one simple thing……
HOW COULD ANYTHING EATABLE, LIVING IN THE YANGTZE RIVER, STILL EXIST?
Even though the Yangtze River is “the longest river in Asia, third-longest in the world, and a vital source of water and electricity,” there are 400 MILLION people using its resources. Keep in mind that people not living near the river probably purchase, on a regular basis, the daily catches of fisherman who work the river. There are approximately 1.6 billion people in China…and I’m pretty sure that things which swim in the water are high on the list of regular staples, in the diets, of MANY of those 1.6 billion people.

I can’t entirely blame the Chinese population for this demise…after all, dolphins have been rumored to be quite intelligent…and if that’s true….then what the hell were they thinking?
First entering into freshwater…and then second, picking the Yangtze River? Come on….they had to know this was going to be a losing proposition. So knowing how intelligent dolphins are supposed to be…I’m theorizing this was a unique suicide mission, planned over the last million years, by the dolphins…to protest the overpopulation of mankind. The dolphins drew reeds and some obscure clan was designated to enter the Yangtze River and convert to freshwater, and then slowly allow themselves to be consumed so that this information could get dolphin extinction into the headlines.
Sometimes sacrifices have to be made, by a few for the greater good of the whole. And once again the female becomes the scapegoat. “The Goddess of the Yangtze,” was sacrificed and once again the patriarchal caste system rears its ugly head. I bet when the reeds were drawn there was some shenanigans taking place behind the scenes by the bad ass male dolphin clan from Nova Scotia.
And that somehow brings me back to the poll showing Hilary losing to McCain. The poll does show her beating Mitt Romney 42 to 36 percent. Before you get too excited about that fact, keep in mind that 65 percent of the people in the poll don’t know anything about Mitt.
Mitt is the son of Bat and Ball Romney…I wish! Imagine if the entire family were baseball freaks and all their names applied to the sport…now that would be a fun election to cover….but in reality, he’s a Mormon whose father ran for President in 1968, and whose main claim to fame is being able to organize an Olympic event…which isn’t a bad thing, but Peter Ueberroth and Mitt should have their own election.
My California guy could kick the crap out of your Utah guy. Yeah, I know he’s from Massachusetts, but if you think Kennedy was tied to Rome, when he ran for President…what’s the ramifications of Mitt’s ties to the golden ball in Salt Lake City? So saying Hilary can beat Mitt Romney means absolutely nothing….Jerry Brown could beat Mitt Romney…and come to think of it…JERRY….JERRY….JERRY. He’s become so mature and now he’s married and….let’s get that ball rolling!
One of the interesting omissions in the poll is the absence of Howard Dean’s name. I can’t believe that he’s not even mentioned….when names like Christopher Dodd, Tom Vilsack…make the list. Howard Dean has probably been one of the most important figures in the resurgence of the Democratic Party.
He must not have a good publicity agent…someone who could spin that famous “DEAN OUTBURST” into a positive political moment…or…maybe he’s told someone that he’s not interested. I probably missed that story. Keep one thing in mind…before that infamous DEAN OUTBURST; he was the leading candidate in the Democratic Party.
That moment turned the tide for Kerry and the rest is history. I’ve seen some great recoveries from politicians who appeared….finished…just like I’ve seen some amazing recoveries for animal species that were regarded as almost extinct…once human beings determined that their existence was important….but don’t call the RSW.

Tomorrow I’ll dissect the other part of the poll that shows who people would NOT VOTE for, depending on their RACE, GENDER, AGE OR RELIGION….but its lunch time and I’ve got to go have some freshwater dolphin sushi just imported from some strange sounding company.

Election 2008

12-11-06

Having been a member of the Democratic Party for my entire adult life I admit to not voting democratic on certain occasions. On those special times I have chosen to support the Green Party candidate and on a very rare occasion have voted for a member of the Peace and Freedom party.
I can honestly say that I’ve never voted for a Republican…..and most likely…..never will.
Now, there have been Propositions that were supported by the Republican Party that have indeed received my vote…..once in awhile.
I am stating the above facts before I mention the non-mentionable word….yes, yes, yes I am a LIBERAL.
Now that 49 % of you have stopped reading this article…we can get down to business.
The business at hand centers on the two most viable presidential candidates for the Democratic nomination in 2008.
THIS IS SERIOUS STUFF….even though as I unfold the information one might regard this as a humor piece. Please do not compartmentalize this information into the nonsense sections of your brain….simply because of the absurdly of the content. The simple truth exists that when someone walks into a voting booth no one else, except that person, really knows why a selection is made for one person or another. It’s a lot like a Swing Thought in golf. Unless the person swinging the club reveals their exact Swing Thought, and often times they can’t even remember, we have no ideas what was going through their mind.
The absolute reasons that someone won’t vote for someone as President of the United States can only be determined by the history of Presidential elections. As far as I can tell since 1776 the following human beings have not been elected President…or for that matter, have not even come close to being elected….or when one really looks close….have not even been remotely considered to be a viable candidate.

1) A WOMAN
2) AN AFRICAN AMERICAN
3) A PERSON BORN IN ANOTHER COUNTRY
4) AN AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMAN
5) A MORMON
6) AN HISPANIC
7) AN ASIAN
8) A HNIDU
9) A MUSLIM
10) A BUDDHIST

Now if one examines the list then one can see that we have a problem with the upcoming election. What the problem is, centers on the simple fact that lots of verbiage will be expended regarding certain people who are members of the above list….and then when push comes to shove and that moment to punch the little chad appears…..suddenly cold feet develop…sweat appears on the brow….tradition rears it’s ugly head, and wham thank you mam….the vote goes to the candidate that does not belong to the above list but does belong to the type of list that consists of the previous 43 Presidents.
One of the ridiculously sad side-bars to the election is that no one with a name that rhymes with Osama….or sounds like Osama…..will ever get elected President of the United States. Combine the name problem with the African American problem and you can wrap that puppy up and stick him under the tree…..he’s finished…..cooked…..done.
Keep in mind that exact moment of punching the chad…..forget all the hop law leading up to the moment.
THE MOMENT OF THE PUNCHING OF THE CHAD is the only moment that counts and I defy anyone to look at the historical records of our presidential elections and reach any other conclusion.
The above list consists of only 10 TYPES of people. I am sure that one could elaborate on that list without too much effort. The top two positions on the list are the ones that concern me the most. The bottom four on the list will never have a glimpse of the big prize and number three on the list would require a amendment to the constitution, and while that might be feasible sometime in the future, I don’t think it’s going to happen in the next 24 months……but I’ve learned to never underestimate Arnie.

NUMBER ONE ON THE LIST

A WOMAN.
What can one say about a woman not being considered for the highest office in the land….except for the simple statement…. THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA DID NOT ALLOW WOMEN TO VOTE UNTIL THE YEAR ……1920
1920…….it hasn’t even been a freakin 100 years yet….it will take 15 generations before that stigmatism is erased from the psyche of the American voter. And one can ask themselves anything they want about why it took so long to grant WOMEN the right to vote, and there can never be an answer that makes any rational sense. And when something doesn’t make sense then people have a tendency to adopt the old…”well somebody must know something that I don’t.”………and history is made and injustices are not addressed.

The same principle can be applied to many current events.

Iraq….”well somebody must know something that I don’t” …and thus the FIASCO continues.
The continuation of America paying for the Chinese Military build up….
…. “well somebody must know something I don’t”……and the trade imbalance and the lost of American manufacturing continues to become the next generations biggest nightmare.
The problems, both medical and political, affecting millions of starving people in Africa….”well somebody must know something I don’t”…and a scar is developing on the soul of the human species that will remain visible for years to come….hopefully not centuries.

NUMBER TWO ON THE LIST

AN AFRICAN AMERICAN
It’s not like we even have to have this discussion, but suffice to say if it takes 15 generations to get a women elected President…..then for an African American, I would put the time table at somewhere around 2140. An African American Woman ( sorry Condi) would be somewhere around 2400 AD.

And keep in mind…..I’m not talking about all the positive moments accomplished during primaries and during the elections….I’m talking about the MOMENT OF PUNCHING THE CHAD.
THE MOMENT THAT CHANGES HISTORY
THE MOMENT THAT SAYS…. AMERICA IS A TRULY FREE AND DEMOCRATIC COUNTRY WHERE ANYONE CAN BE ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.
And just because Junior got elected doesn’t really prove ANYONE can be President…..but I do see the arguments for proving that point.

An African American man whose name rhymes with Osama has NO FREAKIN CHANCE to be elected President of the United States. And the sad part is….he might be the brightest political figure to arrive on the scene since RFK. But also keep in mind that he’s only 13 years old and we’ve yet to see him under the intensely bright lights of a major election campaign.

So the reality check here is…….McCain & Romney vs Edwards & Dean….or Dean & some white Christian guy from Iowa or Texas.

Reality check….. while at the same time understanding that reality can indeed SUCK*.

Another example of the infamous inside vs outside dilemma….

Universe's first objects possibly seen
The observations, by NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope, were first reported on a preliminary basis in November 2005 in the journal Nature. A new analysis was announced Monday.

The mysterious objects are in clusters. If they are each stars, then the clusters might be the first mini-galaxies. And if so, each apparently has a mass that's less than a million suns. Our Milky Way, by contrast, holds the mass of about 100 billion suns and is thought to have been built up by mergers of smaller galaxies -- perhaps like those the astronomers now think they might be seeing.
The problem in making sense of it all lies with the fact that the observations are not clear-cut. The scientists had to remove light from foreground stars and galaxies, and then study fluctuations in what is a relatively diffuse light.
"Imagine trying to see fireworks at night from across a crowded city," Kashlinsky suggested. "If you could turn off the city lights, you might get a glimpse at the fireworks. We have shut down the lights of the universe to see the outlines of its first fireworks."
The researchers expect NASA's planned James Webb Space Telescope will be able to identify the nature of the newfound clusters.

GOD ONLY KNOWS HOW MUCH THESE TELESCOPES COST, BUT THEY AIN’T EVEN IN THE SAME BALLPARK AS THE COST OF THE MACHINE THAT APPEARS IN THE NEXT STORY.***************************************************************************************************************************

CNN NEWS
Subterranean secrets of the Universe
CNN) -- In a cosmic-sized cavern 100 meters beneath the French-Swiss border, scientists from around the globe are making final preparations for the largest experiment the world has ever seen in an attempt to unearth the origins of the Universe.
It is so powerful; it is capable of creating mini-black holes. The hope is that the collisions -- up to one billion per second -- will reproduce the conditions that were in existence immediately after the Big Bang some 10 billion years ago.
What the scientists hope to unearth is the "God particle" -- the nickname given to the Higgs boson -- the idea forwarded by Professor Peter Higgs a theoretical physicist at Edinburgh University.
The Higgs boson attempts to explain how particles acquire their mass and if it is found to exist, when the experiments are completed in the LHC, it would validate the so-called Standard Model of physics -- a framework devised to explain the nature of particles and their interactions.

APPARENTLY THIS MACHINE, called the CERN, COSTS 4.2 BILLION POUNDS…
Which converted to dollars comes to a nice round figure of……about $8,000,000,000.
It’s the Einstein vs. Quantum Physicist hoopla. One looking out and one looking in...
The one looking in…. is the one that really makes me nervous.
“It is so powerful that it is capable of creating mini-black holes.”

Mini-black holes!…..think about that for just a few minutes. And keep in mind that no one has any idea what a black hole is…or what it actually does…EXCEPT FOR ONE THING….

IT SUCKS MATTER AND LIGHT INTO ITS REALM….ITS CORE…ITS HOLE.

THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY CAN’T EVEN AGREE ON WHAT TO CALL THIS “THING.”

A black hole is where DM or DE exists.

Some scientists refer to it as Dark Matter and other scientists refer to it as Dark Energy. The fact that some high IQ knuckleheads, operating underground on the French/Swiss border, want to create mini-black holes, just simply freaks me out.
I can imagine the moment that a mini-black hole is created and suddenly the machine….just disappears.

One scientist looks at another and says. “So what’s the matter?” And the reply from the other scientist is, “Matter? You mean what’s the energy?” And they both stand there for one more second before being sucked into their newly created mini-black hole, (manufactured for the bargain price of $8 billion)…which then precedes to suck in Switzerland and France…followed closely there after by Spain, Italy, The Mediterranean Ocean, and the entire Middle East….followed soon by Africa and The Pacific Ocean and last, but surly not least…..you.

I, on the other hand, will have already departed the scene due to a cerebral hemorrhage caused by reading today that Jr. wants to add MORE TROOPS to Iraq…three days after meeting with The Pentagon. The fact that the Pentagon thinks we should add more troops makes perfect sense….That’s what they do. The fact that Jr. is listening to them and ignoring the civil war theorists…makes no sense.
Maybe we should regard Iraq with our old time colonial mindset….you know the one, where property is seized by a more civilized culture….and the inhabitants of that property are removed or eradicated. We simply open up Iraq as the new land grant area. Adventuress Americans, within 30 years, would have hundreds of golf courses, thousands of nice tract homes, a few really good outlet malls, Costco’s and Wall Marts and hundreds of beautiful new movie theaters with amphitheater seating.

Of course all of this becomes a moot point….because in November of 2008, some knucklehead geeks in Europe will crank up the CERN machine and within a short period of time a mini-black hole will be created and then……and then….and then…. and then …..truly….the “God Particle” will be uncovered…and the expression, “GOD ONLY KNOWS”…will become the most poignant quote ever recorded….and the last sound heard….

……..or the first sound in our newly created mini-black hole universe…where Jr. is not allowed to add anymore of anything.

My current Art Form

My art is all done by hand. The abstract designs are a "flow-motion" moment, meaning that each line is one continuous line.

The amount of lines I use, determines how much painting will have to be done.

Sometimes the painting portion takes a couple of months....and I've had a few pieces that have taken multiple years to finish.

I have larger pieces that might never be finished.

My abstract face series, "Looking to the Left" is interesting because all the faces in the series are male. Realistic faces that I draw in my "Kiss me" series, are all female....I'm incapable of drawing serious faces of men, and I'm equally unable to create abstract faces of women.

I actually enjoy both styles, but of course the women are nicer to look at.....some much nicer than others.....and when friends of mine see the women that I draw, they always ask the same question....."who is that?" And I always have the same answer, "I don't know, because none of the babes have ever talked to me...(drawings can be so quiet)......but I'm waiting for that moment to happen."

More "stuff"

Deficit 2006

12-18-06

The following information was reported by Associated Press….(Martin Crutsinger)

WASHINGTON - America's trade deficit shot up to an all-time high in the summer, reflecting a huge jump in the bill for foreign oil.

The
Commerce Department reported Monday that the current account trade deficit increased 3.9 percent to a record $225.6 billion in the July-September quarter. That represented 6.8 percent of the total economy, up from 6.6 percent of the gross domestic product in the spring quarter.
(The deficit for the entire year is close to $800 Billion)

“The figure is closely watched by economists because it represents the amount of money that must be borrowed from foreigners to make up the difference between what America imports and what it sells overseas.”

Let’s get this straight….The United States buys 800 Billion dollars of more “stuff” then we sell, to other countries, and then we borrow money from them to pay for the “stuff?”

“Lower oil prices, robust export growth and some cooling in import growth should bring the deficit down, beginning in the fourth quarter," said Nigel Gault, an economist with Global Insight, a private forecasting firm.

The tooth fairy decided to pay my rent, my car payment and all my utilities because he missed giving me a quarter when I was six.
“Lower oil prices, robust export growth and some cooling in import growth.” Ha ha ha………..how about throwing in the Cubs winning a World Series…..or Sylvester Stallone making another Rocky movie….come on….some things will just never happen...and it’s time to accept certain realities.

I can tell you that there is some “stuff” being produced and sold, which simply confuses my cerebral vortex equilibrium…and truly makes me wonder….what the hell is going on?

A few weeks ago I was reading about the Opium crops in Afghanistan and how much more they are producing since the Taliban was overthrown. I remember in 2002, at the beginning of the Afghan conflict, reading a story that poppy fields had been reduced to their lowest numbers in years, and that it was due to the simple fact that the Taliban were not into drugs. It was supposedly one of the areas that substantiated the Taliban’s strict observance of Islamic law.
The current story stated that the Opium crops were now helping to pay for the resurgence of the Taliban, especially in the southern part of Afghanistan.
It’s important to remember than Opium is generally a CASH CROP so none of these figures can be included in the import/export numbers….as stated in the beginning of this article. I’m fairly certain that the United States is not growing Opium to help offset the trade imbalance but then this morning I saw the following headline on page B3 in the LA TIMES.

Pot is called biggest cash crop
“The $ 35-billion market value of U.S.-grown cannabis tops that of such heartland staples as corn and hay, a marijuana activist says. “ (Eric Bailey)

Afghanistan produces Opium….Columbia produces Cocaine and the United States produces Marijuana….and the governments of these three countries do not appear to be reaping any rewards, such as tax revenues. I would imagine that Columbia and Afghanistan “officials” probably receive some form of compensation, due to the levels of political corruption that has been “reported” in those countries for years.
The corruption regarding drug trade within the United States is probably much harder to prove.
We are a nation of statistics so it becomes our responsibility to keep track of not only world trade numbers, but also who is getting high…and of course who is supplying those people who want to get high.
The United States should start using its vast creative capabilities in ways that might not have been previously considered…..EXAMPLE:
We increase our Pot crop production from $35 billion to $150 billion….and then we completely destroy the poppy fields in Afghanistan with non-toxic methods, so the fields could be used for growing another product….such as Marijuana. All those people that no longer have access to Opium, which becomes heroin, will really need the Marijuana.
It will be much harder trying to redirect the Cocaine industry. The “Big” boys in the cocaine business are much harder to eliminate. The main reason for this difficulty is due to the amount of trees in Columbia. Too much foliage; Afghanistan has three trees outside of Kabul….so it’s very easy to locate anything growing. And besides the foliage problem, the Cocaine guys are so jacked up on their product, that no one can get a word in edge wise. It’s a very nervous drug and everything about it becomes nervous and once nervous becomes the dominate aspect of an endeavor…calm people just want to ignore the endeavor. I’ve learned over the years that calm people really don’t like nervous people and people who use cocaine on a regular basis are extremely nervous….or if not, then they drink way too much.
We’d have to increase the dollar value of Columbian Marijuana to offset the loss of Cocaine revenue and after juggling the numbers it might be hard to get $10,000.00 for a half an ounce of Columbia Gold….when we can grow better pot right here in California for $750 an ounce.
Columbia is screwed no matter how we dissect the numbers…they will need to come up with their own plan after all the Cocaine users in America start smoking pot instead.
Afghanistan, on the other hand, will become a satellite growing country for the United States and its world domination of the Marijuana industry.
The trade deficit will be reduced and so many people will be smoking pot that it won’t be possible to even spell defisett.
So many situations in the world could be handled with…CAT….creative alternative thinking.

Of course another solution would be….people just stop getting high, and everyone who grows something that makes you high…suddenly is out of business. And eventually they would figure out an alternate crop to produce. I seriously heard one time that if every Chinese person ate a banana at the same time….there would be no bananas for four years. That seems like a nice crop for Columbia….and they’ve already got a lot of trees….so what’s the problem with a few billion more banana trees. Our marketing geniuses in New York could start a rumor about how bananas contain magic ingredients, that when consumed in large qualities…could help reduce the trade deficit.
To the Columbian drug lords I have only one question….would you rather supply China with a banana a day, for every citizen or continue to be the gangsters of nose powder? The problem is that people who own weapons don’t usually like to surrender them…which is truly another entire problem.

And a problem that is so intense that I’ve got to go visit the Medical Marijuana facility in Malibu….now where did I put that prescription? Yes doctor, these trade deficit statistics really give me a migraine…..er, I mean a backache….no really……I meant to say I think I have glaucoma….oh, the trade deficits are reason enough? Thank you.

A FEW PIECES OF MY "STUFF"

Cover of NEO-ILLUMINATION, GALAXIES and me

black hole

12-06-06
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A giant black hole displaying horrifying table manners has been caught in the act of guzzling a star in a galaxy 4 billion light-years away, scientists using an orbiting NASA telescope said on Tuesday.

For the past two years, scientists have monitored the dramatic events as the star, residing in a galaxy in the Bootes constellation, was ripped apart by the black hole.

Well there’s that freakin Dark Energy again….in total action.
The Bootes constellation is a new one for me. Obviously the host didn’t have the power to keep one of its stars at home….we all know how those stars go from party to party…but this is silly.
The only thing that bothers me is that the Black Hole is gobbling stars faster than they can be created.

“It is believed that super-massive black holes are located at the core of every galaxy. For example, Gezari said, the Milky Way galaxy in which our solar system resides has a dormant super-massive black hole at its center.”

A dormant super-massive Black Hole is located at the center of our Galaxy……???????? DORMANT…….
I REALLY BELIEVE THEY USE THIS WORD…..DORMANT….JUST BECAUSE THEY DON’T WANT US THINKING ABOUT THE POSSIBILITIES IF IN FACT IT WASN’T
DORMANT.

Imagine trying to control six billion people if a rumor got circulated that the dormant Black Hole at the center of our galaxy was no longer dormant….and that its rate of consumption, of all matter in our Galaxy, was increasing rapidly.

Now the fact still remains that we aren’t sure what happens when the Black Hole sucks light and matter into it’s belly……what if that was the ultimate journey for all matter and the belly of the Black Hole was NIRVANA, HEAVEN, total consciousness…..or

whatever you want to call IT…..

Does our Black Hole have a name……does any Black Hole have a name? It seems every time I read about Black Holes they simply are called Black Holes. Perhaps
we should give them names….especially if they are going to suck the freakin essence of our existence down into their fat bellies….bad table manners ideed!

So the issue becomes one of Gluttony…….and not sharing once consumption has been achieved.
Seems like the same problem we have on earth with the ones who have and the ones who need and somehow impressing upon those who have that the over all mood of the planet would improve if those who needed were somehow included in the process of at least having enough so that food, medicine and shelter would not be a daily issue.

OH…… those liberal thoughts….how they just appear even in the face of a “dormant” Black Hole. Maybe the Black Hole is the ultimate liberal action….but also it might be the ultimate conservative action….and that’s the beauty of a Black Hole. At this point in time, we have no idea what it really signifies except for its gluttony…..gobble gobble……gobble….burb

And out pops a small planet where everyone goes to college and learning is the only thing that matters…….

Have a nice meal tonight…….

Dark Energy

11-17-06

Page 25 of today’s LA TIMES has this headline……

Dark Energy dates back to young days of universe

Sub heading reads

The finding gives
astronomers an
important new clue
to how gravity works.

Those might seem like important topics but when I consider that probably only 200,000 people in Los Angeles will read this article, then the importance gets diminished…..well maybe not diminished…. but the reception is truly limited.

SIDE-BAR ON NUMBERS…..circulation of Times is a little over 1 million….of those
readers…..my guess is that 300,000 only read the Sports Section…..another 100,000 only read the Business section…..and 250,000 only read the Calendar section.

Nationwide the figure probably jumps to 2 million…….who might read this article.

So there are 2 million people today that are asking a few simple questions…..like
what the hell is DARK ENERGY? And don’t we know what causes gravity to work?
Out of the 2 million people there might be 20,000 who know what DARK ENERGY is….and out of those 20,000 there might be 2000 who understand the true concept.

First let’s focus on DARK ENERGY and what it is….or what it wants us to think it is…..or what it might turn into……or what it used to be……

Let’s agree on one principle…..the speculative nature of what DARK ENERGY is….should be a rather large portion of our discussion.

A short definition of DARK ENERGY says it is “the enigmatic force that is causing the universe to expand.”

ENIGMATIC FORCE…..whoa….hold it right there.

Time for definition…..

Enigmatic….of or like an enigma; perplexing; baffling….

which now means we need to define

Enigma…n pl, -mas …to speak in riddles. 1. a perplexing, usually ambiguous, statement; riddle
2.a perplexing, baffling, or seemingly inexplicable matter, person, etc. SYN. See
MYSTERY

I realize that I am not a scientist......nor am I an astronomer…..but I do somewhat understand the English language and when I see the word enigmatic being used to describe DARK ENERGY then immediately I have to ask……

WHO REALLY KNOWS WHAT IT IS,
OR WHAT IT DOES? (And who actually
got to name it?) after all….a mystery is a mystery…..

Even the impeccably intelligent Albert Einstein backed off this issue because there was no concrete evidence….or mathematical proof.

I have a strange feeling that sometime in the relatively near future…..which could mean anytime within the next 5000 years…..someone is going to discover a separate quark environment that will result in DARK ENERGY becoming NOT SO DARK ENERGY
And then someone else will come along and reveal that they have discovered that DARK ENERGY is really LIGHT ENERGY….with tiny slivers of darkness.

Which I believe pretty much describes the human species.

I believe that DARK ENERGY is alive and living within the hearts and souls of human beings who could improve the living situations for millions….but who refuse for various reasons.

DARK ENERGY is the refusal to feed the starving masses around the planet
DARK ENERGY is the refusal to supply up to date HIV & AIDS medication to the millions who are suffering around the planet.
DARK ENERGY is the behavior of the warlords in DUFAR.
DARK ENERGY is the behavior of anyone who arranges that a bomb be detonated in the presence of civilians…anywhere on the planet.

Obviously each of us could compile a long list of what DARK ENERGY might be….
And a “NE0-ILLUMINATION” says that “happiness might be based on much truth one can ignore.”

At this moment today….right now….I choose to ignore DARK ENERGY and thus that ends this column.

Peace
Michael Timothy McAlevey

p.s. I have a strange sensation that DARK ENERGY maintains a fairly powerful presence in spite of my refusing to be sucked in. Tomorrow DE could dominate my life and the list could become incredibly lonnnnnnnnnng.
